That’s fine, I just think he’s demonstrably wrong about the visit thing. The only ones we know did are Hyppolite and Frazier based on post draft comments. Can’t seem to find one way or another with Turner or Newman but: Loveland says he’s never been to Halas Hall during the Bears 1920 post draft video (at 8:35) Here’s the post draft media conference call where Burden says the Bears didn’t really talk to him much prior to the draft (which suggests to me the didn’t bring him in for a visit) - it’s at 4:15: Monongai says his only pre-draft interactions with the Bears was an informal at the combine and maybe a call during the process (at 0:50):

I never researched it and it doesn't really matter to me anyways but Greg still has friends working in the NFL and player agents contacts. That's more input than most bears pundits.

Top 30 visits
I’ve seen people say that all the players drafted had come in for a 30 visit (like Greg Gabriel) but I’m pretty sure that’s not true. If you watch the post-draft video from last year, Loveland pretty clearly says he’s never been to the Bears facility. I’m pretty sure Burden, Trapilo, and Turner didn’t visit either even though they met with those guys at the combine/senior bowl I think.

Boredom is Taking Me Hostage
I think we are taking LT, Edge and Safety early. I would not be at all shocked if the Bears took a Left Tackle @ 25, and then an Edge like Dani Dennis-Sutton and a Safety. After that, it could go on the DL, CB, or even WR. Guys like Bryce Lance, and DeZhaun Stribling could be hanging around the 3rd or 4th round. Also, if the right player is there at DT, even at pick 25, thats certainly an option. A guy like Peter Woods might be a Bear choice there. Personally, I dont see Zion Young for us. I didn't like his tape at all. I know the pundits look at his measurables and DA's scheme and connect dots, but he's not a great player on tape, and hes not worth pick 25 for sure in my opinion. Id take guys over him in the second round too. I'm kind of expecting: OT Max Iheanachor or OT Caleb Lomu with pick 25 In the second round: Edge Gabe Jacas (if hes still there) or Edge Dani Dennis-Sutton (or another Edge that falls like Malachai Lawerence or Derrick Moore) Safety AJ Haulcy or Safety Emmanuel McNeil-Warren In the third and fourth rounds: DT Gracen Halton or Edge Mason Reiger WR Bryce Lance or WR DeZhaun Strribling S Bud Clark (if we didnt take one in the 2nd round) If a center falls like Hecht, Connor Lew And then CB, blocking TE, LB, DL, a C like Trey Zuhn, and even a late pick developmental QB.

Mock Drafts
This the way I look at it. They brought in DTs, LBers, LTs and one starting Safety. Also added a WR with Walker expected to contribute. No DE. They have to find a starting S , otherwise we have players everywhere else. I think they bring a S maybe two, a DE and DT. Could be any other positions applying the BPA theory. My preference, trade back from 25 5 to 10 spots and get an extra top 100 pick. In any order they have their board laid out. Jacas , Parker , Young, D- Sutton , Lawrence, Moore. DE Stukes , Kilgore, Ramsey, Bud Clark. Payne S Miller, Halton, Benny, Proctor, Capehart DT Parker, Slaughter, Jones, Hecht, Kuhn C Tienen, Shelton, Bowery JC Davis LT Hill, Trotter, Louis, Perkins, Boettcher, Rolder LB Tacario Davis, Muhammad, Neal, Demming CB These are players that could fit our scheme. IMO

For last year it was stated by a few pundits that everyone we drafted, we had a visit with. If true some were not reported and keep quiet, maybe by design. The OL coach stated in an interview that some prospects were brought in because they had questions. The answer could be not to draft them. They can have local and regional players in and not have to report. Some prospects that come in could be told not to mention. When they draft then we can follow up to see if came in for a visit. Poles is good at keeping secrets. That's why I never believe anyone has inside information. I think people just guessing.

Boredom is Taking Me Hostage
He will surprise me if he takes a CB or LB at 25. I would expect S, DE, DT and even LT. We could upgrade any position but QB and IOL with the first pick but some spots carry more expectations. As long as we add a DT, DE and S , adding anything else is okay with me.

Boredom.... What player or position will shock you for the Bears to draft. I was shocked about Loveland. Seen a few posts on here about him, but was shocked to see him taken so high. That proved me wrong.

The more I look at this list and the guys I see mocked to the Bears, it’s hard for me to believe they would draft either Caleb Banks or Peter Woods without bringing them in for a visit given questions about their motor and productivity. Maybe they did and kept it quiet I guess.

Mock Drafts
If there is a guy they believe will be a blue chip player regardless who is already signed, you do it. There are 3 or 4 LBs that could be there Hill, Rodriguez, Trotter that would become team captains when you are transforming the whole defense, its as good as a time to bring that voice in. They filled DT in FA, so they may not draft one. CB, WR, RB, and C all have players too but yes depth and upgrades should be considered. The Bears can go anywhere position wise and that is what keeps us confused trying to predict outcomes.

Mock Drafts
If they draft a Urlacker type LB, I m all in but who is that? Edwards will probably be gone after this year but Demarco Jackson is probably his replacement to go with Bush. Every year we should draft every position but we don't have enough picks for that. I think 1 DE, 1 DT , 1 S, 1 CB, 1 WR, 1 RB, and a C . If we get extra picks, then a LB will be addressed but I don't think it will be a priority in this draft. Hyppolite is counted on to improve, if not then we draft another one.

Drafting Trotter, Edwards or whoever is expenable. He will be your Singletary or Urlacher of 2026 and beyond.

Their are several available and most are third round and latter. He doesn't have to start right away, so they will decide the upside. I like the 2 tackles that will project to center. Kuhn and Parker, bigger bodies. It could be a 7th round James Brockermeyer.

Boredom is Taking Me Hostage
This is usually the busiest time of the year on this site. This year is a little different because we finally won. Rumors do get morbid but draft time always attracts my attention.

Mock Drafts
This draft will be graded by what rookies made first year contributions, not 3 years from now. The first 3 picks have to contribute. A safety will start, A DE will be rotational anyways. Same for DT. A LT will probably need to develop, a center will be a future starter. Unless Edwards isn't healthy, a LB wouldn't be a starter right away. A high CB pick would be the 4th or 5th CB to start. WR would be the 6 th pass catcher, RB third on the depth chart. Because we didn't get the comp pick, 75% chance we move back instead of forward. Last year there were 3 trades between 25 and 32. Many teams always want to get there guy and reach late in the first round.

I mentioned this in another thread but there literally 10-12 guys you could get in rounds 2-4 and maybe even 5 who seem like viable future starting centers. Whichever one they think is the best fit works for me.

Bradbury didn't have a penalty or give up a sack last year. To many people gage players by PFF ratings. By next year, no one will notice Dalman was gone.

I hope they draft one (center) to start a pipeline. It was disgusting seeing all the guys they traded for or signed since Kreutz. We finally get Dahlman and he decides to retire.

It’s a really good center draft so I’d be shocked if the Bears don’t get a center of the future in the middle rounds. and I still don’t buy OT in the first round.

I'm sure you're right. However, just because they confirm he was the best option to turn to doesn't mean there will not be a big drop-off. I read he was ranked 30 out of 40 qualifying centers in 2025. The encouraging point is that he will be sandwiched between two outstanding guards.

Mock Drafts
A mock draft from the Bears Talk simulator. I was graded C+, but I'd say a drafting a starting DE, S, and LB with a rotational DT, a gadget RB, and developmental C and DE is at least a B. Dont sleep on Patrick Payton, 6'5 260 4.65 speed, he has the tools to be a good pass disruptor. He needs strength to set the edge and hold up in the run, so a good year or two can make him an asset. They developed Dominique Robinson from WR to DE, so maybe take another swing.

The Bears did a lot of home work on Garrett Bradbury for center. Ben's offense is very complex and they wanted someone who can handle everything so there is no drop off from Dahlman. I don't think we will notice a difference and see better snaps.

Looking at the players' positions, it is encouraging that they have 3 centers listed. I am very leery of the guy we picked up from NE. Maye was sacked 47 times. Now, it's not all on the Center, but???
