So the Bears have had a slight downgrade at Center, a solid upgrade at Safety, and a very solid upgrade at LB. Also, they signed Bush and Jackson for less than what Edmunds hit would have been.
-
Yup, big signings or not, we always also sign mid tier free agents to fill holes so we dont get screwed if the draft doesnt go well for us, and we have to reach for positions. You avoid that by having someone you can put there if necessary. Then you draft rookies close to BPA, and some will play behind and eventually overtake those vets we signed for $6M/yr Some years you make a big splash with a big name player, and some you dont, but either way you always fill holes before the draft. OK so we have signed S Coby Bryant at $40M/3yr (thats a starter $13.3M/yr) DT Neville Gallimore at $12M/2yr (thats a rotational player and hole filler $6M/yr) LB Devin Bush $30M/3yr (thats a starter $10M/yr) LB Demarco Jackson $10M/2yr (backup or LB3 on running downs, pushing for LB2 $5M/yr) DE James Hardy $6M/2yr (special teams player $3M/yr) Great Hole filling, and we have new starters at S and LB. And maybe I'm wrong, maybe Gallimore will start at NT. His salary says less though.

For all the PFFers, Bush was the 3rd highest graded LB in the NFL at 87.6 with over 500 snaps. The highest graded Bear last year was Jackson at 76.4, and Byard at 75.4.

Linderbaum is off the table. To the Raiders. 3 years - 81 mil https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/48154652/sources-raiders-tyler-linderbaum-reach-3-year-81m-deal
- Today

Linderbaum signed for $27M per year, gtfo. A Center.
-
He replaces Billings, has more speed. Jarrett, Dexter, and Gallimore is a nice start if they add 1 or 2 through draft.
-
3 year 40 million is reported contract but he is a baller.
-
Coby is an upgrade over Brisker.
-
Bears are signing Seattle S, Colby Bryant. Good signing, plays both SS/FS.
-
Bears are signing DT Neville Gallimore 2 year 12 mil deal per sources.
-
So the Packers gave up: - 2025 1st Rd Pick - 2026 1st Rd Pick - Kenny Clark - Rashan Gary For: - Micah Parsons (who is now coming off an ACL tear) and a 2027 4th Rd Pick
-
He played very solidly and is a DA guy. Also, a 2-yr deal for a max of $10M has minimal impact on the cap.
-
Demarco Jackson has been resigned. 7.5 mil with incentives up to 10.5 mil. 2 years. I assume they bring in a rookie to compete. May not be a top pick.
-
Not sure they are going to use pick 60 on a situational player that may never be more than that. Great off the ball but the draft profiles said he can't get off blocks. Booker is 6' 5 " and close to 260 lbs now . Romello don't have the frame to add weight, 250 would probably be the best he can do.. He will be 25 by training camp and has 32 1/4 " arms. Booker has 33 3/4 arms. Booker was projected as a situational player that may never be full time. Not sure they want 2 of those. He could be outstanding but more as a 3-4 fit. Most project to early 2nd round .

Other than signing our own free agents, I don't see a lot of movement until the second wave kicks in. That's going to make some fans unhappy.
-
Poles said he wasn't going to make a big splash in free agency. That was just rumors by pundits about Maxx. After last year with the big spending in free agency, they just don't have the money anymore. They will open up money to do what they need to in restructures. They will sign 2nd tier players. Bradbury is an example of screwd cap moves.
-
Where did that rumor come from? Everything I’ve seen said that the Bears were mostly on the sideline watching and were never serious contenders for Crosby.
-
Good agent getting out in front of the “nobody wants him” news. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2026/03/qb-kyler-murray-could-be-patient-in-free-agency#ref=home
-
But most teams, including this years Bears, have tried to buy that pass rusher. Rumor was Poles offered 2 firsts but Ravens were better slots. I don't think the Bears are ready to add that piece yet when they need DTs, LBs, and S's to just line up a starter.
-
Romello would be a situational pass rusher, not an everydown DE to start his career. Hes about 10lb lighter than Austin Booker or even Micah Parsons. The Bears have Sweat, Dayo, and Turner for size and might look for more speed from the edge. You could make trades, I opted not to do any and mentioned that.
-
Here's a draft that I traded back twice and took BPA until the last few rounds according to their rankings.
- Yesterday

Keep track of the name Jamaree Salyer as a possible LT signing for the bears. He will come cheap and can play 4 positions on the OL as the temporary LT until Ozzy comes back. He's PFF grades aren't good but he at least can fill a need as a depth piece. I only bring his name up because Poles is always full of surprises.
-
Adam Hoge was sighting a story about the edge rushers with the highest paid salaries currently, maybe top 10, has never won a Superbowl. He used Parsons as the example, 16.7% of the salary cap. Crosby is getting 12.7% I suspect the point was , it's not worth the investment. Make your own conclusion.

We finally signed another player, Daniel Hardy is coming back on a 2 yr deal.
