Last years draft was a great success and still can pay more dividends with Frazier and Hyppolite. Until it proves differently this class looks like it added to the roster.- More Videos

As I was looking for draft stuff, someone posted a Austin Booker video. He missed half the season with an injury but was playing his best ball at the end of the season. He had 4.5 sacks and 2 he didnt get credit for because of QB roughing calls. He is ready to be a 10 sack DE of which we are trying to find in the draft. IMO we have players on the team that will be contributing more this year coming off of injury or just getting better. Jordan Van Der Berg is an exciting prospect that definitely needs some coaching. His strength and quickness is off the charts.- UDFAs 2026

It can not be put any better. An odd draft but as being a winning team now, we specifically filled spots without major additions at the DL , a glaring need. Van Der Berg is going to be a big surprise. IMO- #213 - Jordan van den Berg, DT, Georgia Tech
It always amazes me how the scouts find these guys you barely hear of and the tape looks so good. Im trying to find one a little longer but some short ones shows this dude relentlessly tackling players. https://youtube.com/shorts/c900oal73EA?si=Cx3jXfxxXF-6yzTM- Draft Summary
Great summary. I hope last years defensive injuries was a fluke and they do perform mid-level with everyone back.- Draft Summary
The haul: top 15 talent starting safety Starting center Best blocking TE in the draft and a talent who should be long term TE2 WR4 maybe future WR3 with elite speed CB with the talent to fit this scheme and starting CB2 potential LB who should be good depth with starting potential I think he ends up LB4 for us long term Freak DT DT4 floor to DT1 potential We had a good draft and filled a lot of needs with good players. Just not the draft I expected. This team got better. This is easily the best and deepest offensive roster I’ve seen in a very long time. Might end up being the best Bears offense we’ve ever seen this year or next. Defense is finally getting depth as well. DBs improved across the board. Both starting safeties are better than what we fielded last year. With CB starters returning to health being key but the depth behind them got much better. LBs improved a little bit. Dline will improve slightly but mostly just organically from player’s like Booker and Turner continued ascension. However depth player’s at DT are better than what we had last year. I really like Van den Berg as DT depth. Questions remain at LT of course but I figure Taylor Decker is the emergency call if needed. Overall I feel much better about the roster depth than I did at this time last year.- #213 - Jordan van den Berg, DT, Georgia Tech
I agree. Van den Berg needs some good hard coaching. The fact he improved so much in his last two seasons under the former Falcons Dline coach versus the crap coaches at Penn State should give us hope he’ll continue that trajectory.- Poles Press Conference from last night
It shows in some of these players. Roush gym rat loves blocking and special teams. Thieneman clearly is a football addict very focused on improving his game Elliot gym rat won work out award (?) at ASU 3 or 4 semesters. Loves watching film credits it for the reason he can make plays behind the LOS.- #213 - Jordan van den Berg, DT, Georgia Tech
Not at all. The Bears probably had similiar grades on them and knew a first was too high for Woods. Ive noticed a lot of guys I like and target always end up going much higher. Gonna take that with me when I get into next the draft around Feb- Top 30 visits
For those keeping track, while Logan Jones definitely had a 30 visit with the Bears (which was not reported pre-draft), based on their post-draft comments about their level of engagement with the Bears, it does not sound like Thieneman, Roush, Thomas, or Elliott did. Not sure about Muhammad or Van der Berg.- News Flash, This Just In: Ryan Poles Diagnosed With Dimensia
Baby steps.- #213 - Jordan van den Berg, DT, Georgia Tech
I know I'm a Peter Woods hater already, but am I crazy for liking this guy in the 6th more than Peter Woods in the 1st? They were the two All-ACC DTs for this year, so very similar competition, and, admittedly, van der Berg is three years older (24) than Woods (21), but: Woods van der Berg Height 6'2" 6'3" Weight 298 310 Arm 31 1/4" 31 1/8" Hand 9 1/8" 9 3/8" Vertical 29" 36" Broad 8'8" 9'11" 40 N/A 4.94 20 N/A 2.75 10 1.67 1.61 Shuttle 4.54 4.19 3-cone 7.70 N/A Bench N/A 35 2025 tackles 30 44 2025 TFL 3.5 11.0 2024 sacks 2 3- News Flash, This Just In: Ryan Poles Diagnosed With Dimensia
At least we didnt draft a small school mystery player or a kicker/punter.- Pick 89, Zavion Thomas, WR, LSU
It will be interesting to see how Ben plans to use him. Exciting parts of the summer and fall. Plus they have Squirrel White from UDFA, same size but 4.6 forty.- #213 - Jordan van den Berg, DT, Georgia Tech
I just seen my message, I think my phone is drunk. Fixed it. Brought to you by busch light- #213 - Jordan van den Berg, DT, Georgia Tech
I’m good going for a raw player newer to sport who is an elite athlete. And because he’s euro you can kind of stash him for developmental purposes.- This is Ben Johnson’s team
I like what they did on 3rd day - took swings on guys that could turn into legit starters. They may not and some might be projects but you take enough swings like that and it will pay off. - This is Ben Johnson’s team
