  2. oh for sure, we should see lots of evidence of it. I dunno if it will all be put together into a full NFL QB right away, but we should see lots of it immediately.
  3. The only thing helping Velus are the new kickoff rules.
  4. I’m starting to get real excited about him. His character and work ethic is stellar and when you see a Fitzgerald comp thrown out - man if he can be 80 percent of Fitz they got a total stud.
  5. If they go all offense - I’ll throw out Tennessee running back (Wrigth), his USC teammate (Rice), or Van Pratt as my picks. If they go defense - I’m hoping the Oregon dlinemen is still on the board.

    Draft ALL OFFENSE

Let’s hope the Tom Brady type traits start to show up in year one.
  7. Based on Poles’ comments a moment ago, it sound like the Bears were debating between the highest guy on their board (Amegadjie) or taking someone further down their board that filled a need in Bralen Trice, and when Trice went to the Falcons a spot before them, that made their decision for them.
  8. I think they are going to have to live with that this year and than next offseason they can address it - whether via free agency, the draft or both. Back to your point - they are focused on building a culture and continuing to develop roster while also putting Caleb in a great spot to develop. I think if all goes right they can make a run at 10 games - but let’s get it right and than add another wave of talent next year (maybe even a trade acquisition).
  9. I agree, for his pocket manipulation skills and his big play hunting and gunslinger mentality. He has some Mahomes in him too when plays break down. I cant wait to see it all happen. I really hope luck is with him, and it all works out like it should.
  10. I expect this too, but doubtful it will be a blue chip player, at least until the trade deadline in the middle of the season

  12. Need someone to help in pass rush, IMO.
  13. Well said and I agree - we have two really good vets and both hopefully will help Rome (and Scott) and heck maybe even Velus (cause Velus physical skills are legitimately good).
  14. Rodgers is a really good comp.
  15. I agree - I see him getting another dline or two on one year deals - whether 2nd wave of free agency or post draft cut.
  16. This is well said - I would be shocked if they like Van Pratt if they move up - maybe Borom and our 4th to move up a few or a next year 5th or 6th to move up 5-10 spots.
  17. This is a good pick in terms of BPA. Raw upside but needs some development. I like what they are doing and expect next year we will see a few more defensive selections. I wonder if they go db / safety in round 4 or maybe stick with them and take an interior / center prospect.
  18. Poles has a plan if he doesn't get help in the DL, he will bring in a vet. There will be a round of cuts to choose from. Do not underestimate players on the team getting better. I was curious when he said players are going to have a hard time making this roster. To me that means he likes some backups we aren't thinking about.
  19. exactly right - this draft and next years draft are both aiming at the 2025 season, one where our stud QB isnt a rookie, and where we can fill the final missing pieces including another pass rusher. The window for us to seriously contend for a superbowl opens in 2025, although I wouldnt put a ceiling on what this team is capable of this year either. But its a PLAN for 2025.

    Draft ALL OFFENSE

Jason ... so far you've got the hat trick and we are 3 for 3 on offense.
  21. We all need to remember, the draft is about next year...
  22. Based on what I've seen on Youtube we grabbed him right where he was rated. TheDraftNetwork.com ranked him 64 overall so that a steal at 75. He's never had anything in coaching, nutrition, workouts, etc like what he is about to experience his first season. We'll have to wait for it if you take a long term view of roster building this isn't a bad pick.
  23. They filled a need , swing T. He has traits, Braxton started as a rookie. Maybe that happens again. I'm listening to CHGO podcast and they praise Poles then they complain that he didn't take who they wanted. Poles took Kiran because he won't make it to 122. Trust in Poles.
  24. Yikes. I wanted someone that could contribute more this year and I don't see anything from him other than swing OT in 2024. The fact we had him in for a visit means we've done enough of a workout to have a good idea. He has a lot of good traits and there is potential to develop into a legit long term starter at LT. ...and he grew up in the Chicago area? edit: After watching several videos it appears he has legit long term LT starter potential.
  25. and the DE from Utah went in the next pick too. The intel was pretty good this year.
  26. Hinsdale native, top-30 visit, would've been long gone at 122.
  27. Has experience at guard so offers some good developmental flexibility
