Serious Q: if you wrote that same post last year at the end of August, would you have said "I know Forte isn't healthy"? How do we know he's more healthy this year than during the last couple?

If there's one problem with Bostic's tackle form, when you check the video you can see that at the last second he ducks his head towards the ground, so that the top of his helmet is facing the target. IMO, that's the problem if there is one. You have to keep your facemask up and pointed at the player if you're going to hit him hard, that way you're not using the crown of the helmet to enhance the impact. If your eyes are on the defender where you're hitting him the whole time, it should be a legal hit, and Bostics facemask lowered to the ground just before impact.

Carimi was a known injury risk coming into the draft too. I think there was definitely some "this guy wouldn't be available without the injury risk, he's performed great so we're really excited to get him at this pick" going on in both of those guys. The Bears wound up being hurt by both.

Let's keep in mind...most teams rotate their linebackers heavily. Very few linebackers stay on the field for both passing and running situations in this league. The Bears have been kind of spoiled by having one of those guys on their roster for a decade. The other ones around the league who play that many snaps often are all pros. Swapping in and out with Bostic for much of the season while the rookie learns would be a solid use for Williams.

This is his chance to not be that guy. I'll even give him a few games of the season to get there. If Brett Favre can find a way to fit into that Vikings System in his late 30's, Jay Cutler can find a way to make fewer stupid throws.

I'd be surprised if it hasn't happened to the Bears in the last couple seasons.

It is nice to see the Bears actually trying to run a quick slant. I was starting to think the staff was convinced if they called that play, Cutler would accidentally pull out a handgun and shoot the receiver instead of throwing the football, so they never called it to avoid murder charges.

"In a walking boot" is a lot better than "scheduled for surgery".

Hell, I'd have called Philly surprising if they'd lost fewer than 10.

I believe I saw that he ended practice 10 plays early as a reward for the players doing so well.

I can come up with excuses for why this Bears team will win 3 games on the season and why they'll lose 3 games on the season (total). I'd think losing only 3 is more likely, but this is really up in the air on how the roster and coaching staff come together.

I think the Bears are a great example of why it's so hard to project NFL teams before the season.

Those level of numbers are sorta similar to Matt Schaub, Carson Palmer, and Joe Flacco last year. That ought to be good enough to put the Bears in the playoffs, and his salary for the next year gets decided by what he does in said playoffs.
