  1. Jones is running strong, and Rex looks good throwing outside of the pocket.
  2. Hester starts it off with a nice return. TB forces the punt. Briggs with the open-field stop to force the punt. Hester time again!
  3. That would never work. If Hester was to come in the game, the defense would know something is up. Either he will get the ball on a trick play or he'll be a decoy. He wouldn't make much of an impact unless you used him a few plays a game as a decoy, then finally hit them with something where Hester get's the ball.
  4. I'll be at a friends house watching the game tonight. Hopefully Rex proves some doubters wrong and has a great game. DA BEARSSSSSS!
  5. Thats what I don't understand. There's only a couple flaws with his mentality. I blame 50% on Ron Turner as well.
  6. I'm still not buying the QB contoversy. I've seen enough of Rex to know that he has the talent and potential to be a really god QB in the NFL. Something just isn't clicking with him mentally. It's odd hearing him in post-game conference's because he talks like he knows what he's doing wrong. If you know, fix it damnit!
  7. So then, technically, there is no factual evidence declaring you right or wrong...
  8. I personally hate Cedric Benson. When we picked him, I didn't like it. I knew that it would create a big dumb RB controversy. And on top of that, the year he get's drafted is the year our old starter emerges and has a career year. We could have picked Antrel Rolle, Cadillac Williams, Mike Williams (who damn near everyone wanted), or even Shawne Merriman. As a side not, imagine Briggs, Urlacher, and Merriman as a LB core. OMG.
  9. I hate Brian Griese and Cedric Benson for this reason.
  10. Wasn't he a big-time passer at Purdue? What happened?
  11. Pretty much sums it up there. Except I think Brian Griese could probably make it too.
  12. He will prove you wrong. But defend what you say, what makes you think he won't be a great QB???
  13. That's where I disagree. The defense is still young and most are wrapped up for a few years. Bradley, Berrian, and Benson are still young, and Moose in under contract for a while as well. This team can be really good for a few years. Putting Rex in this situation will be a fantastic learning experience for him and it will only help him mature more a a QB. He is already VERY mature and realizes when someone saved his ass. And when he does succeed, he never takes credit. He always talks about the job the O-Line or WR's did. Thats what I really love about Rex. He's very humble and he knows what to say. Once we get his mechanics down pat and he get's some consistency, he will be a great QB and the Bears will be a great team.
  14. I watched the highlights of the game. Every single INT by Rex was when he thew it off his back foot. Favre had/has the same problem, he turned out OK, me thinks. Of course, Rex is no where near the level of a Brett Favre, but if he learns to step into his throws and make the right decisions, he very well can be.
  15. I agree with that. At this point, saying 2 out of 3 is acceptable is basically saying losing to NE next week is acceptable. And I'm greedy, so at this point, I'm saying winning all 3 is what it's about.
  16. If we put him in the Kyle Orton role, he'll succeed. Putting all that pressure on him to be a gunslinger QB will not bode well for us. Dink and dunk, run the ball, open up the pass. He has the arm to make the throws we need, we just need to situate him properly.
  17. Wow, this game thread was entertaining to read. I went to a friends house to watch the game and though it wasn't pretty, a win is a win. And I must say you guys overreact too much in these gamethreads. I do it too, but now that I step back and just read, we really jump on people's backs a lot. For those complaining about the run D, take away the Tim Dwight reverse and we only gave up about 75 yards on the ground.
  18. I don't see Rivera being able to build a defense from scratch. He inherited a good defense with the Bears and built a scheme that best suited them.
  19. If I'm not mistaken, Dante Hall got a nice contract just for being a great KR/PR but he has evolved into a pretty nice receiver with KC.
  20. Unfortunately, he's as good as gone after 06-07. Hopefully he does the loyalty thing, but I doubt it. I think the Raiders would be a good team for Rivera. They already have a talented defense with some young stars, and he would be the accent they need. Obviuosly, they've still got a ways to go with that mediocre offense but they could be a decent team under Rivera's coaching.
