I didnt say we were going to the Super Bowl. We will add one more WR this year. Does that mean it is top 5 in league, I didnt say that. This is what we will got to war with this year. We will have some UDFAs in and maybe one more WR in FA after the draft, but we aint adding much more high end WRs. What you think we're going after Bryant? no way.

No I don't see us going after him. But obviously your definition of complete and mine are drastically different. At best with our current group and a rook from the middle grounds we might be middle of the pack. Which granted is light years better but still far from where it should be

A few months ago I predicted that we wouldn't have more than 2 WR from 2017 on the opening day active 47 and took a lot of heat for it.

Admittedly I was also saying a WR in one of the first two rounds which I am now not predicting anymore.

But last year's WR group was dismal. One of the worst ever. You'd have to go to the Buccaneers 0-16 team or something to find competitors for that title.
    They were AWFUL.

Yes you were. Lol. I think I was saying 2 returners lol. Curious though what year did the bucs go 0-16. I thought only the Lions and last year's browns were the only teams to have that kind of prestige

Our roster is one WR away from being complete. A draftee. He will cost to much for what you get back. Is he better than Bellamy, Gentry, Fowler, and probably White, of course. If they didnt want to pay Merideth 5 mil, they surely arent interesting in paying Dez that.

"Complete". Dude please tell me what it is your drinking. Because I guarantee I will order whatever it is the next time I'm at my favorite watering hole lol. It's WR Corp that's filled with alot of questions. I'd hardly call that 1 rookie from being complete. You don't go from there worst WR Corp in my 30+ yrs of watching football to being "complete" in a single off-season. Is it improved?  Absolutely without a doubt. Does it have really good potential?  Absolutely again without a doubt. But there is also a ton of risk here as well and we don't really know exactly what we are going to get from really any of them if they are healthy.

He's said to be working on learning how to run routes this offseason.  That's not something you want to hear from a veteran WR.  We already have Kevin White doing the same but with a better attitude.  Then there is the fit among Robinson and Gabriel.  It seems we need someone who can be more slot/outside WR who lines up on the same side as Gabriel, which I expect means someone who is going to run a wide variety of routes, and probably a WR with good quickness in/out of cuts for the slot.  If we didn't have Robinson perhaps Dez would fill a need.

I'll say we pass with Bryant's deficiencies, attitude, and his price tag as a bad fit for Trubisky in this offense.   It was just last year Dez missed the start of training camp because he threw a party for his home town.

We only have 1 outside receiver right now so signing him wouldn't offset what we have done so far. I'd much rather not see him here but for me it's all about his attitude both on and off the field. Hell Jerry Jones had to hire a full time babysitter for Dez. That's something I don't ever want to see on this team. By the time you are mid 20s you should know right from wrong and be able to take care of yourself. Most certainly shouldn't need a damn babysitter. Heck I can trust my 10 yr old to be home alone for a couple of hours without having to constantly check up on him

  5. I don't know. I go back and forth on this. He's got the talent to be a good part of this rebuild but unfortunately he's got so many off the field issues and anger problems on the field to take a hard pass. I certainly wouldn't want to give him alot of guaranteed money

I agree Pace has had a good offseason, every GM makes mistakes, and 2.5 million is not huge deal with the 180 million+ salary cap.  But he did make a 2.5 million mistake.

Big deal. What's $2.5M when according to over the cap.com we have $27.4M in available cap space this yr and $60M available next yr. I honestly don't see what the fuss is all about. Pace gave Wheaton 2 yr $11M with $6M gtd. So we are essentially talking about a deal worth less than Wheaton was given

Pace could have had him for 2.9 million.  If we’d lost him, we’d receive a 2nd round pick.  Instead we have to decide to match, assuming the reports are correct, 5.4 million guaranteed and worth up to 9.6 million over 2 years.

New Orleans is pretty cash strapped.  They worked him out and were convinced that’s what he’s worth.

How did Pace not screw up by undervaluing Meredith’s value?   Especially after we signed Marcus Wheaton for 2 years 11 million, with 6 guaranteed.

Are we seriously saying pace screwed up because of a lousy $2.5M essentially. That's all we are talking about here. We aren't talking about any kind of real cash that is going to hamstring us.  What's the big deal. Every GM makes mistakes. Usually much bigger ones. Pace has had a good off-season let's focus on that

  8. This is all dumb if you ask me. All of the outrage is over nothing if you ask me. Howard ain't going anywhere and I think with the new weapons and a better passing offense will actually open up more running room for Howard

  9. When I've seen Equanimeous St Brown available in the 4th on these mock simulators, Ive taken him. He wont be there of course.

I don't disagree about the WRs, but by the time you get to the 4th, there's no one I really want, and I love the idea of 2 x OL and an impact first rounder on D.

If we get Edmunds, and a good OL with 1 and 2, that'd be great. If theres another OL available in the 4th worth having, or a DE, so much the better.

I like the idea of trying to pick up 4th Rd pick

  10. And here is with no trades...

    R1 P8 Tremaine Edmunds ILB

    R2 P7 Billy Price C/OG

R4 P5 Orlando Brown OT (again willing to take a flyer on a top talent with issues with a later pick)

    R4 P15 Isaac Yiadom CB

    R5 P8 Kyzir White S

    R6 P7 Hercules Mataafa OLB/Edge

    R7 P6 Eddy Pineiro K

This would also be a great draft.

I can't see them taking a kicker after signing Parkey already to a multi yr deal. I'm curious on white buy acknowledge I don't know much about him. Personally I'd like to see us take a developmental WR in this draft

  11. I completely forgot about Jordan Morgan. But why didn’t we activate him last year? There were games we missed both starting guards. How could he not see the field?

Morgan never saw the field because he hit the IR during preseason if I'm not mistaken

  12. I was pleasantly surprised to wake up and see we went strong and got Robinson and got him at a decent price. And then the press conference announcing all the guys was spectacular how everyone was basically saying that it was nagy that they decided to sign here

  13. I believe the only WR's that were RFA/UFA's that we "tendered" were Bellamy (why???) and Cam. Wright and Inman are still unsigned FA's at this time. Getting younger makes sense to let them go and bring back Meredith, and Bellamy (since I doubt anyone signs him). Wright would be a good vet to have with the group.

With Bellamy I have to believe it's solely about special teams. At least the rest of group has strongly been upgraded so we aren't forced to watching him start

  14. Never realized for much y'all have grown on me. Having the career that I do I count on yall for at least entertainment. I don't get the opportunity to really talk sports with anyone except I can talk cubs with my fiance. I'm really sheltered lol. I love my job. Just a downfall.

  15. So far, Howard has been anything but "meh".

Let's not rid ourselves of every star player on the team to find ourselves needing another replacement.

Howard is a high character guy and is neither old nor unhappy in Chicago. Let's leave this be please...

Completely agree. I'm sure this is just smokescreen

  16. I know we have Shaheen, but man, Gesicki is tearing it up:

    His last two seasons:

    48-679, 14.1, 5 TDs

    57-563, 9.9, 9 TDs

That is some great production and he is 6'6" and 250 lbs, so he is not just a workout warrior.

Would you consider him as an option if he is sitting there in the 4th?

I think you would. Imagine the fits him and Shaheen would give defenses in the red zone alone. That would be sick. Do we know if he can block as well
