  1. That puts Q. Nelson in play for the first pick. Also another option I like is picking up Zack Fulton and make him the full time OC and move Whitehair to LG. Hopefully they find a replacement for Massie.

Seems like they are all in on improving the OL, besides the WR. position.

I really hope Nelson gets to 8

  2. The best ILB out there is probably Zack Brown/28 that fits Pace's MO young and ascending. Another name is Avery Williamson/ Tenn.

Also they know the development that Nick Kwiat is gaining so they may not do anything but resign Chirstian Jones to backup and bring in another prospect.

I'd love it if they could lure brown in. I like kwiat but I honestly don't see him as a full time starter. I think he's a good role player

  3. Ultimately I could see Chicago drafting an ILB early on. But couldn’t help notice both Navarro Bowman and Ahmad Brooks are current UFAs (both familiar to Fangio). And just over $1 million more than Freeman for both. Another former 49er available is Brandon Coyle although I’m not sure he and Fangio were at the same place at the same time.

Other names of interest; Brian Cushing and Derrick Johnson.

All on the wrong side of 30 which isn't Pace's MO. Personally I'd like to see 1 of those mentioned brought it on a cheap deal

  4. How much total do you think? I could see 20 guaranteed on a 4 year.

Maybe grand total of 4 yrs and 45M with between 20-25 gtd. Part of that 45 would include incentives like interceptions, PBU's and most importantly games started

  5. I would think Jeffrey is more accomplished and coveted.

I'd disagree as Jeffrey shows flashes but hasn't put together anything since 2014. We tagged him because of his 2013 and 2014 season. Since then he's basically become a 50 catch 800 yd receiver and he's had Cutler and went throwing to him. Robinson has had Blake friggin bortles and still managed a 1500 yd 14 td season in 2015 and take away this yr he's proven to be available come game day. Had started every game the past 2 seasons in 2015 and 2016

  6. Yes of course, there is no guarantee on anything but you have to try.

Absolutely try but I see no real harm in tagging fuller this yr. This way we are gtd to have him on board as opposed to what we are gtd right now which is really bad. It's not like we can't afford to tag him

  7. Keep in mind just because we need and Target a CB in free agency didn't mean they will sign. There has been many cases lately where we target someone offer them the most money and they turn is down. Most recently bouye turned us down and took less to go to Jacksonville

  8. Fuller is not worth it. Better to front load a multi year deal. 3 for 33 mill with 12 guaranteed...

He's going to get more than 12 gtd on open market. I'm guessing he's going to closer to 20-25 gtd with a 4 yr deal

  9. According to Greg Rosenthal there's a believe that we will tag fuller. The tag is rumored to be right around $14M

I'm ok with this we've got the cap room and over the course of his career so far he's only had 1 good yr the other 3 yrs we're all injury riddled yrs

  10. people are always projecting what they think someone will do, no personal knowledge to substantiate that information.

I heard Brian Urlacker was going to un-retire and come back and play.

Lets see how far that goes

There might be some credence as I sit here looking back. Do you remember how he was treated during the 2016 season when not only the fans were all over him but even Fangio called him out. We all loved what Fangio did because it was warranted but to the player that could have seriously pissed them off

  11. Keep reading more and more and keep changing my mind more and more.

    So in this FA scheme:

    Resign Fuller

    Resign Callahan

    Resign Meredith

    Resign C. Jones

Resign S. Acho total cap space 20 mil

Cut M Cooper (save 4.5 mil)

    Cut J. Sitton ( save 7.9)

Cut P. McPhee (save 7 mil)

Cut M. Wheaton (save 5 mil)

    Cut W. Young (save 4.5)

    Cut J. Freeman( save 3.4)

Restructure D. Sims contract (save 3 mil) blocking TE with better upside with new scheme

Restructure Q. Demps (save 2 mil) vet backup

    Save 37.5 million

    In FA we acquire:

    M. Lee/WR 6 mil

    R. Cobb/WR 7 mil R. Cobb gets cut from GB being due 12.5 this year- plays the slot

Z Fulton/OC 6 mil Fulton becomes our full time OC moving Whitehair to LG

    S. Richardson 11 mil gives us one of the best DLs in the league

Dee Ford/edge 6 mil had an injury plauged 2017 with only partial 6 games /fresh start

Rasheen Melvin/CB 6 mil a vet to pair with Fuller 6'2" with 3 ints last year.

    cost 41 mil

With Meredith- Marques Lee- Randall Cobb we redo our WR corp with a drafted player yet to come

With cut ties with Sitton and go younger with more stabitly for the next several years. Massie has his replacement drafted

Resign Fuller add Melvin and keep Demps for backup role at S. draft pick yet to come

Ford had a 10 sack season 2 years ago and pairs with Floyd to boost the OLB position.

    Your turn

I think I saw someone on Twitter said that fuller is unlikely to resign in Chicago. More than likely we will need to franchise him

  12. It's cool. I just couldn't figure out why you thought I was proposing such a thing.

When I replied to that trade I didn't even realize the extra third. I was just immediately enamored with the draft.

If I were Buffalo, I'd do exactly what you're suggesting. And then I'd supplement with a mid/late round QB.

Exactly. Buffalo already has a decent team. Just need an upgrade over Taylor and that shouldn't be all that hard as I believe he's horrible

  13. What the heck are you talking about? I never said the Bears would trade anything like that. In any variation. I just said I would like the trade down draft results another posted.

You said, "No both 1sts and a 3rd I don't think they would do that." That pretty much implies the other team giving the Bears three picks. Hence my question.

Try scrolling up next time before getting your panties in a twist.

Opps sorry Jason my bad. It was the original post that started all of this which was by stinger so that's my bad. I'm man enough to admit I made a mistake on that. The original post suggested we trade #8 for there 2 1's and there 3rd. And that in no way is that happening. I honestly think if I'm Buffalo I make a run after aj mccarron. Who won his appeal and was granted his release

  14. Why do you think it would take both 1sts and a 3rd?

    1.8=1400

    1.21=800

    1.22=780

I'd say that trade is near perfect. It's paying a premium to move up, but not that big of a premium.

Wow do seriously need to break this down again for you. Ok I'll try but it's pretty evident your aren't even paying attention to what I'm saying. Why do I think it would take both 1st and a 3rd? Honestly doesn't matter what I think because that is in material because in your proposed trade there your giving them our #8 and we get #21,22 and there 3rd. That's coming from your mouth not mine. Now I said that personally for me that's giving up way too much on Buffalo's end that's 1 reason I don't see it happening. I don't see them as completely dumb to go that far to get a QB. Do they need an upgrade from Taylor? Of course. Could I see them making a trade up in the 1st to get a QB? Yes. However this type of trade on there would smell like pure desperation and I don't see them becoming that desperate. All they need is an upgrade over Taylor. They don't need to get into the top 10 and if they did I don't see them giving up that much where all give up is #8.

  15. The problem is, if you take the QBs out of the picture, there is probably 4 true blue chips players in this draft the next group of 15 players are all rated about the same value. So if you dont draft Barkely-Chubb-Fritzpatrick-Nelson then moving down makes a lot of sense. IF you are Buffalo and there is a QB sitting there they like, you honestly dont think trading the 21 and 22 pick is worth that move? They gave Taylor a contract and will ask him to take a pay cut. Sounds like that will be a problem that will not go away.

No both 1sts and a 3rd I don't think they would do that. The Taylor situation is a mess that they will have to fix. I can see them moving up but that kind of trade would smell like pure desperation when all they need is someone better than Taylor and there plenty of those guys. They don't need to trade all the way up the 8 spot. If the shoe was on the other foot I would totally scream if we did a move like that

  17. The more I read, the more I think they will keep the Oline intact for one more year and draft in middle rounds a OT to groom for taking Massies job next year.

We still have Morgan in the pipeline at OG, so I think they keep Sitton for one more year and groom Morgan to take his spot.

So that changes my perspective on predicting who we draft.

In trading with Buffalo for there first rounds picks and a third, this is where I am at right now.

1-21 Marcus Davenport/OLB the more I look the more I see him as a late first round pick.

1-22 Josh Jackson/CB He is a good size playmaker with 8 ints as a senior

2-7 Christian Kirk/WR a speed theat that will thrive in the new offense

3- 32 Marcus Ateman/WR the tall go up and get guy

4-a Brandon Parker/OT a OT to groom to take Massies spot

4-b Joel Sweat/5T another prospect for the line

5 PJ Hill /DT a DT to backup Goldman

6 Joe Osman/edge another prospect for the outside

7 Mike White/QB back to drafting one every year

Personally I hate any draft where we move out of the top 15 but besides that I don't see this as realistic as I don't see Buffalo giving up both 1st's and a 3rd. I don't care what the numbers say on the trade chat of draft picks. I can see Buffalo moving up to possibly get that QB but this trade hurts them overall in my opinion
