Good points. I think this year the opposite is happening, I see them getting stronger. We have finally been able to get pressure with the front four. Melton has been really getting better each week. I think getting Major Wright back from injury has strengthened the safety rotation. Hopefully it will continue that way.

Agreed, we shall see. Although with the offense trending upward its gives the defense a little more leeway as far as having to be perfect. I personally felt that the magic number for the staff not to be fired was 10 wins, so it looks pretty good right now that this will happen.

I think the other thing to think about is whose defense hasn't been exposed this year. Its not like there are a ton of top notch defenses out there. Maybe the Jets. San Diego has been up and down. Lets worry about being "exposed" in the playoffs when we get there. I mean its really starting to sound like sour grapes. First it was wait until the Eagles game, now its wait until the Patriots and the playoffs. The bottom line is that the defense has been pretty good, the offense has been improving (pay calling and qb play in particular) and special teams in back, health has been good. We just need to enjoy the ride.

Exactly, they Eagles had no time outs so the play was to give the underneath and let them chew clock. great job by the defense in not giving up the big plays.
