  1. Exactly my point. People will give Kruetz a free pass. He is not an All-Pro center anymore. And I know high school centers who shotgun snap better.
  2. WMB Even though I might not do some of those things, its hard to argue with the thought process. Good post
  3. I like some of your ideas.... 1. I agree let him go. Personally I think he is overrated. He misses a ton of tackles. He is constantly late into coverage. He is prone to stupidity. (penalties, off the field stuff). Urlacher should have made the Pro Bowl over him this year. Simply put, he is not worth the money. 2. I agree with nfo here. Dez is a solid blocker and we need those desperately. Plus he adds to the pass game as an above average pass catcher. And he is priced right. I think if we get someone to call the offense that has some originality we could have both Dez and Olsen in there creating havoc on unsuspecting LB's. 3. I agree with nfo here too. Brown is a good run player. I would like to see a Brown/ Anderson platoon more. I think that would help both of them. 4. YES YES and more YES. The oline needs a complete retooling. COMPLETE. I would add garza in here too. Flip Tait to RT and move on with new peeps at the rest of the positions. 5. I would do this in a heartbeat. However, I think that due to contract issues, we couldn't get good value for him. Kruetz gets a free pass from some for bad play IMO. He hasn't been a top center in three years. Bullrush DT's murder him. He sucks at pulling and hitting anyone. And this guy is in the NFL and can't snap a shotgun snap to the chest of a quarterback on a consistant basis. Everyone always said that we never went shotgun before because of him and that is ridiculous. 6. I agree let Moose go. I haven't liked him since he threw Orton under the bus when Moose led the league in drops. Berrian doesn't have good enough hands for top dollars IMO. If you drop it into his hands, he's great. If not, he doesn't fight for position, runs half azz routes sometimes. For me, Bradley and Hester are both better at the short catch and run(although Hester is clearly not very smart). Bring Hass in for the posession guy and I think Bradley, Hester, and Hass are good enough. Some will say that they an not experienced enough and we are thin but we do not need a ton more if we use Dez and Olsen better. Plus Olsen can split out as a slot (which he needs to do more of). 7. To me, I think if the line doesn't get fixed then its worthless to throw money at offensive players. I'd rather us fix the defense. Next year I'd like to see a Benson/Wolfe combo behind a good oline. Thunder and lightning with screens and dumps to Wolfe. I dont think AP has much offensive value. Special teams he is great but he needs to go back to the #3 back. 8. and 9. The whole line needs to be fixed BEFORE any other offensive positions are looked at. You just cant evaluate what you've got. I'll add a 10th. We need a better o-coordinator who takes advantage of the players we do have.
  4. Flea--agree with your point. Hester can't block and when he is in the no huddle it takes time to get him into position. But he is getting better at the catch and run. He is, at least, improving. nfo--agree with most of what you said. Agree with the AP stuff especially. He is supposed to be this great 3rd down back, but his blocking has been crappy and his running is bad. He does ok with the catch and run, but I think Wolfe would be better at that.

    Wow

Thats the same play we hit Clark on earlier in the year for a TD. If Orton would have looked the TE was open again.
  6. He needs to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Playcalling was bad. Orton's accuracy was not good. Rex is the best QB we have on the roster, for sho
  8. Wolfe looks better running than Peterson does.
  9. Its nice that we are winning, here are my thoughts. 1. Defense has shown up big time tonight. Good coaching and good blitz calls so far. Take away Peterson and make that moron quarterback try to beat us. Good to see Vasher. When our d-coordinator sets them up with good pressure our big cornerbacks are awesome. They come downhill and make big hits and are great at bad balls. Problem comes when the cood leaves them on an island cause they are not the small, fast types. Also stupid penalties on Tillman and Briggs give up the 6 points. 2. Its a broken record but the line still is bad. Penalties again. I've watched Kruetz especially and my complaints remain the same. The Garza penalty was on Kruetz for snapping the ball late (he gave a "my bad" in the next huddle) and his snaps have been low (one off Orton's ankle). Plus on the screen he whiffed the tackler and on the pitch didn't hit a soul. I again state he is average at best. The right side of the line is bad (Garza and Miller). The left side has been average. The run game has been bad again. We can't drive anybody out. 3. Hester broke a cardinal rule by fielding the ball inside the 10 and it nearly cost us. But that little 6 yard gain was exciting. Bradley's catch and run was nice too. I dont think we need to give Beriian big dollars as those two can probably make it up. 4. Orton hasn't been good or bad. He steps up in the pocket nicely, but some passes are not very accurate. He ran tough on those sneaks, so hopefully he keeps it up. Needs to use Olsen and Clark more. 5. Coverage teams have been on point. Nice job to them. 6. How is Kennedy doing? Anybody have a feel for it?
  10. Good to see you made it, Cracker dog Now I want to see a point by point retort to something
  11. I can't believe he just left a note. Has anyone ever done that before?
  12. lol. Yes citing specific plays is exactly like saying"he is a beast and always will be". lol Dude you are silly. I see how to make you see the point. Kruetz is crappy cause Stone Cold says so.!!!!! And of course if the announcers and , dare I say, "talking heads" say something it must be true. I would rather use my own eyes. Its actually pretty easy to grade a center if you watch. How's that buddy?
  13. lol. Dont need to know you well to peg you kyyle. Just by saying "is and always will be a beast" says it all. Logic at its best. Plus the way you get all upset because I said to move Tait to RT and get rid of the rest. If you want more proof, watch the whole season, buddy. Its been the same the whole year. I guess we will just disagree then. You think our center getting physically dominated into the backfield is "damn good" and I dont. Its cool dude.
  14. Hey dude. You are a HUGE Kreutz fan and I have clearly hit home by the way you are taking all this. Thats cool. Like I said, I expected this to some degree because some Bears fans just love their favs even if the production has declined. Watch the whole season if you would like. Olin is simply not one of the better centers in the league anymore. And if you didn't see that Olin got killed backwards and knocked Metcalf off his block then, like I said, we are done. I saw that in the u tube video. Oh and I love the sarcasm. Almost as much as the logic of Kruetz = Pro Bowl cause he's "damn good". Bottom line is that the whole line needs a retool, and I would put Tait at RT.
  15. Well if you back your opinion of Olin up with those types of facts, its hard to argue with you. lol. But lets be serious now, go back and watch the Skins game. When the QB is desperately trying to get the ball snapped as time is running down and Olin is still doing all his pointing, hand shaking nonsense then its on the center. And if you watch every lineman during a game, Tait is the one who misses the least blocks, that how I judge players, not by proclaiming them "damn good". And if you try to tell me that Rex's injury was not on Olin, then I guess we are done debating.
  16. I guess you didn't watch last game. I'm not sure how you say "get blasted into the backfield so you knock your guard off his block so our QB gets crumpled for the year, get three delay of game penalties in a shotgun set, and pull and whiff on screens" is worth his paycheck. I kind of expected this reaction because Olin has been a Bear forever and WAS a Pro Bowl player, but his play has been declining for the last three years if you really watch him. He made his last two Pro Bowls on reputation alone. Seriously if you can, go back and watch the Skins game and his line play and tell me he "earned his check"
  17. I agree with you on the oline. Easily one of the worst units in the league. Its true that Orton was tough his first time around. The 79 yards passing were a results of an ultraconservative approach and remember that was the year our recievers dropped everything and threw Orton under the bus. I think if they would have given him some space his numbers would have been better.
  18. Thats not saying much. The only guy that deserves to be back on the oline is Tait. And he needs to move back to RT. The rest are terrible (including Olin...his play has been really bad this year)
  19. If we go QB I'd rather see us take Woodson. But I would hope we trade down and get one of those OT. Offensive line is a must in this draft
  20. I agree. Lets see how tough Orton is when the porous oline lets him get killed a couple of times. That being said, I like Orton and hope he shows his worth. And I hope the Bears give a bunch of kids a shot (Olsen, Wolfe, Hass, etc.) I also would like to see what they have in J. Kennedy.
