Good right where he needs to be so he can get well and not try to play to reinjure himself

IMHO the real postion battles that we should keep an eye on is the Oline. These are the players we have on the roster Roberto Garza C, Chris Spencer C ,Cory Brandon OT, James Brown OT, Gabe Carimi OT, A.J. Greene OT, Tyler Hendrickson OT, J'Marcus Webb OT, Ricky Henry OG , Lance Louis OG ,Nick Pieschel OG Chilo Rachal OG, Chris Williams OG Edwin Williams OG/C. Looking at these players i think from the start that Greene, Hendrickson,Henry,Brandon and Pieschel wont make the team...that just me. The GM spoke about Henry, Pieschel and Rachal so who knows...but I have a feeling that its going to be Williams LT, Spencer LG, Garza C, Louis RG Carimi RT as the 1st string, unless we have someone go down or one of the other players comes in and is a beast and take someone spot! http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/ .

We have 8 DT's on the roster and 7 DE's looking for the starting spots. At DE we have Peppers, Idonije, McClellin, Wootton, Davis, Gibson, & Ozougwu. The one is bold are locks to be on the playing field, but the other four will have trouble making the team. Wootton will have the best chance but he needs to produce this year or he will get the axe, He really has done nothing other than the one sack of Farve. Peppers had 11 sacks, Idonije had 5 and Davis had 1 so yes we have got to do better than 17. Allen from the Vikings had 22 by himself last year. Now at DT we have on the roster Cameron, Collins, Pressley, McCargo, Melton, Miller, Paea, Toeaina.Melton lead the way with 7 sacks, paea had 2 and Toeaina had 0. Gone are Adams and Okoye with their total of 4 sacks, so there is a great need like you say for someone in the middle to step up. Between Cameron, Collins, Pressley, McCargo, and Miller...... one maybe two of these players will make the roster and will get some time with the one's or two's but they will need to really show something to make the team. I think Paea has the most upside and will make a bigger impact this year. So the two guys that really need to IMHO make an impact are Paea and McClellin

Old??? Well I think Ray lewis is 37 and still going strong!

That was me that did the comparitive listing of the Bears players to the Packers players, but IMHO its like you said the Bears play well against the Packers and they don't score a lot of points against us....its like the last four games I think the closest margin of winning was 20-17 we won and they won 35-21 as the biggest margin. So 14 points is the mark. and in the games we lost....if we had a little more firepower at WR(like we do now) then we would maybe even won two of those games. The Chiefs beat them with a strong running game and using the TE in the midle of the field. They had a strong pass rush also. The Giants beat them with a strong pass rush and using the 4 WR set that the Packers use.
-
I say sign them both as soon as possible. These are two core players, sure Ulacher is on the wrong side of 30 but I would not want him playing anywhere else than in Chicago and i think he feels the same way. Cutler is a good QB and we need to keep him.
-
Since we added Marshall & Jeffrey and got rid of the 7 step drop the line (Webb & Williams) wont have to try to hold their blocks for a longer time.Meaning they should be in a better position to protect Cutler. Marshall & Jeffrey will allow Cutler to make throws he didnt or couldn't last year.
-
Yes we do in Marshall, Jeffrey, Bennett and Hester. Say what you will but they will perform on the field. With marshall & Jeffret being the big body WR we have been needing for so long hester the speed guy streching the field and Bennett being Mr. Clutch. Yes Davis will be the pass catching TE. Sure he may not have monster number like some of the othe TE in the NFL but 18 catches for 5 TD's...thats a TD every 3.6 times he caught the ball.......so me better numbers than that. I did'nt say we had great WR I said good.
-
I agree...hopefully we won't need him.
-
IMHO I really think that there is no talent cap now when it comes to the Bears and Packers.they have 4 good WR's...so do we. they have a pro bowl QB.....so do we. they have below average RB's....we don't we have a good 1-2 punch. They have a pass catching TE...so do we. They have an average Oline ....so do we, but we have a better defense than they do......so taking in account everything about the two teams...I would say we are equal right about now.
-
IMHO I dont think Forte will have a huge year but a good one, resaon being is that we have too many weapons now on offense to feature him like we have done in the past. Marshall. Jeffrey, Bennett, Hester, etc.... at WR, Bush, Bell backing up Forte at RB, Davis, Spaeth, and Rodriguez at TE will benefit form Tice/Bates spreading the ball around and using these players to their strengths.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ The Bears announced they had agreed to terms with former third-round pick Lorenzo Booker, who has been with the Dolphins and Vikings. To make room for Booker on the roster, they released running back Alvester Alexander, an undrafted rookie free agent out of Wyoming. We just paid Forte, we signed Bush, and bell signed his RFA tender....so why do we need Booker in camp?

This is what a Packers fan had to say about the Bears!! http://network.yardbarker.com/nfl/article_..._north/11231611 Let’s re-title this article Matt: “Forte gets new deal – makes Bears a major threat in the NFCN” – IF: 1. Their O Line doesn’t get Cut head decapitated by week 2. 2. Brandon Marshall doesn’t punch some stripper on the south side after a loss and get himself arrested. 3. Cut head decided he wants to put away the pouty face for a whole season (has not happened once yet in his career) 4. Their Defense doesn’t suddenly (and finally) give up the ghost and submit to their age. 5. Their new Safeties and CB’s other than Tillman can actually play. (I’ll believe it when I see it) 6. Mike Tice suddenly becomes intelligent. (not likely from the man that invented the Randy Ratio) In other words, the Bears are a talented but not well rounded team. Every single year they’ve resorted to a hope and a prayer. Once every 5 years, it works. They’ll compete for a wildcard this year if all these things go well for them, but they are NOT a threat to the Packers in the NFCN. GB wins the division this year by 3 games. At the very least.

The team’s original offer to Forte before last season included around $15 million guaranteed. Forte initially sought a five-year, $40 million deal with $20 million guaranteed. The Sun-Times reports that $18 is guaranteed in this new 4 year, $32 million deal. The Houston Texans Adrian Foster’s new five-year deal is worth $43.5 million with $20.75 million guaranteed. The Seattle Seahawks Marshawn Lynch signed a four-year, $31 million contract with $18 million guaranteed. The Eagles's LeSean McCoy signed a five-year, $45 million contract, which goes through the 2017 season, with $20.765 guaranteed

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ Forte has signed a 4 year deal making 8.8 million per year!
-
Well lets just hope he earns that starting position by what he does in camp in a few weeks.
-
Drew Brees signs a $100 million contract with the Saints. To pay for it, New Orleans is selling Baton Rouge back to the French.
-
You know I agree with you about starting the best player and i think we will do that with Hester being the no@ WR brcause he knows the system better. Now we will see Jeffrey in the red zone and in certain formations ...like the 4 WR set. Hopefully he works his wat to the no @ position.

I'm not really adamant and unwavering about Jeffrey being a starter from day one.........but in fact adamant and unwavering about the potential of the offfense this year if the Bears use all the tools they now have.Knox and Williams didn't bring to the table what Marshall and Jeffrey do now. With Williams and Knox you had two one trick ponies....now with Hester you have speed and the moves, with Marshall and Jeffrey you have speed, moves, height and weight to deal with as a DB.Williams & Knox catch the ball and were easy to bring down......not Marshall & Jeffrey....then you have to catch Hester which is not easy to do either. That's why the Packers were so good the past two years...they have multiple weapons at WR so teams cant just double team the best WR and have to play man coverage. can you image having Marshall and Jeffrey on the outside with Hester and Bennett in the slot with Forte out of the backfield in the 4 WR look like the Packers run. Also since Tice has gotten rid of th 7 step drops, Cutler can get the ball out faster and does not have to actually wait for either Marshall or Jeffrey to get open as he did with Williams and Knox...because Jeffrey and Marshall tend to fight for the ball and go get it...as where Knox and Williams have those alligator arms and let the ball come to them. The red zone is going to be a beast this year for the Bears with Bush taking the role that Barber had last year. Now you will see Marshall and Jeffrey on the outside a WR both at 6'4 and Davis and Spaeth at TE both 6'7. this is going to be a nightmare for other teams.I think the Bears will average 23.3 points per game this year.
-
Yes that's true about Jeffrey being new to the NFL, but Calvin johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson were all new to the NFl too right. So you would have Jeffrey sit on the bench and learn behind Marshall? Or put Hester & Bennett on the otherside at WR? Both Marshall & Jeffrey are a beast at WR and do things Bennett & Hester dont do. Sure Hester has the moves and the speed and Bennett can catch a cold in the desert (120 degrees) but they dont have that match up problem that Marshall and Jeffrey have which gives Cutler more of a chance to make a off target throw look great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTegYX4Gro4...feature=related

LOL...that was funny
-
Antoinne Hester is not Hesters brother but rather he is his cousin.
-
You are right, but thats not what this was about. Jeffrey is a true WR as Hester was not. The whole point was that height has an advantage in the NFL. Jeffrey can make catches over smaller DB's that our smaller WR cant....like fades, high passes, and jump balls in the red zone.
