  1. I'm sorry to tell you my friend....it is that simple. If you call the right plan and if your players do what they are getting paid to do then its that simple. You are right about the dropped passes, being overpowered, and the right audibles, put picture this....if you are getting overpowered up the middle(dang) change the pace and run to the outside!. If certain WR are dropping the ball then put them on the bench and use the guys that can catch. SIMPLE For every action there is a reaction, and if studied right the reaction is better than the action.
  2. LOL you know it. About to the tune of 3 Quarts per day.......oh by the way its HOT as Hell here . But its was 5 not 4 loses but now that I look back it could be only four.
  3. IMHO it all depends on if Ron Turner wants to win or lose. If he wants to lose he will just keep calling the same old sorry game. If he wants to win then he will mix and match+ this offense, using Jones/Forte to pound the ball in the running game. He will use the two tall TE'S Olsen & Davis in the red zone. And use Hester/Davis/Wolfe as quick strike guys (get them the ball in space). He needs to use the HB toss sweep, screen pass to the RB/TE/RB. Just a better ball control game plan.l
  4. I didn't say that we would lose I just said it's a tough game. If Manning is recovering from the knee surgery then we have a better chance.

  6. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Williams say early on that he will not be a camp holdout? Meaning that he will have his deal done before we get to camp.
  7. I think that the Super Bowl is a bit of a reach at this point. But you never know. The Giants were not looked at as being a Super Bowl team at the start of last season and to be playing the 18-0 Patriots in the big game........well that lost a lot of money for some people! IIMHO I think that we get to the playoff at 10-6 or 11-5. But looking at who we play this year only The Colts,Jaguars, Eagles,Vikings are the only really strong teams we play.
  8. Bears | T. Harris predicts Super Bowl Thu, 17 Jul 2008 16:31:48 -0700 The NFL Network reports Chicago Bears DL Tommie Harris feels the defense has the capabilities to be the best in the league and predicts the team going to the Super Bowl.

    Kevin Jones

IMHO this is just added recovery time if he needs it. He had a work out for the teams in June so he could run and cut. Now how strong is his knee is the question and they are just protecting him. Running and cutting is different than getting hit, pulled and twisted.
  10. QUOTE (Mongo3451 @ Jul 15 2008, 12:15 AM) We can only hope. Then we can look for an OG. Only if there was a dominant LG in free agency, we would have been set. We could do the same thing with Bentley as we did with Jones. He would be an upgrade over Metcalf and or the rookies we have.
  11. Will he wear #20 didn't we have a Jones wearing this number and do pretty well, or #32.maybe not to curse him, but what is your guess since.........uummm#34 will never be worn again.
  12. LOOK OUT Detroit!! Jones signs with Chicago, he'll face the Lions twice this season -- the first meeting will be in Detroit on Oct. 5. He is going to be pissed and play that way as well!
  13. Lets see what you think about this. The Bears spend some money and aquire Kevin Jones(RB), Bentley(LG), Farve/Culpepper(QB) Henry(WR). Would these players make us a better team if we got them to do the right thing(Henry)? Just a thought. LOL!!
  14. I say maybe to Simms, no to Leftwich, maybe to Culpepper. Now my reasons are as follows. With Simms what do you get, a QB with a good arm, slow reads and a little mobility. With leftwich you get a slow QB, bad throwing mechanics(2 slow)not mobile. With Culpepper you get a former Pro Bowler, can be very mobile and has a good arm. Now the tree did all bomb on their last teams but given the teams they played for......who wouldn't at the time. So with our team being geared to running the ball and not pass happy they might have a chance to do something good for us. Culpepper is a better fit if you ask me. Now our UDRFA have to show something or they will be either cut or one sent to the practice squad.
  15. IMHO all the players will be on the field, but if they are hurting or still recovering that makes it just a better chance that the Bears start the season with a win.
  16. Well I feel for you working in Indy. LOL But at this point in the season(early) I will take a win any way we can get it. With or without Manning. But I'm sure he will be playing he has the next longest streak of starting after the Great Farve.
  17. Here we go...now lets sign the kid and get to the work of the playoffs!!! Ex-Lions RB Jones paying Bears a visit By David Haugh | Chicago Tribune reporter 12:24 AM CDT, July 15, 2008 Really, the Bears have been jonesing for a running game since trading Thomas Jones to the Jets in March 2007, a month after their last Super Bowl appearance. Can Kevin Jones help supply the potent 1-2 punch that has been missing since then? Apparently, the Bears are curious enough to take a good look at the ex-Lions running back, a former first-round draft pick who believes he can return to 1,000-yard form after two serious injuries the last two seasons. What's Goin' On: Offense raises more questions than it answers NFL sources said Jones was to take a physical and visit Halas Hall on Tuesday, one week before the Bears open training camp. No contract offer has been extended, but if the Bears are satisfied with the condition of Jones' surgically repaired right knee, it shouldn't be difficult to meet the veteran's terms. A source said Jones would accept a one-year deal to prove how healthy and effective he still is. Agent Tony Fleming told the Tampa Tribune late Monday that Jones would sign with the Bears or Steelers on Tuesday. Jones told the Tribune last month that the Bears would be his top choice among potential teams interested in him. Jones, 25, tore his anterior cruciate ligament Dec. 23, leading to his release by the Lions in March. But he vowed he would return to fulfill the potential he flashed as a rookie in 2004, when he gained 1,133 yards. Injuries to Jones' foot in 2006 and knee in '07 contributed to him gaining only 1,934 yards in three seasons after his rookie year. Jones staged an impressive workout June 28 to show how quickly he has recovered, and four teams attended the session in Saline, Mich. The Bears were not among those present. But the team did receive a videotape of the session and kept up with Jones more than they let on after Cedric Benson's release June 9. Initially, when asked about the possibility of signing Jones before the workout, team sources shot down the idea. The Bears have faith in second-round pick Matt Forte, but adding a veteran with Jones' potential, even if he's not cleared until early in the regular season, would decrease the pressure on the rookie. It also would give the Bears two legitimate options at the position, a must for NFL teams thinking playoffs. If the Bears sign Jones, it would allow Adrian Peterson to return to the special-teams role he starred in during 2006. Adding a fourth running back also would put Garrett Wolfe in a fight for a roster spot. Signing Jones would represent a gamble. But for a team tired of seeing its running backs losing yards, the Bears have nothing to lose.
  18. IMHO Bentley is still out there maybe due to contract issue and not his health. Maybe the closer we get to training amp we could get him at a low price. This would make the line a whole lot better than last year if he starts at LG
  19. Colts | Manning's status uncertain for regular season opener? Mon, 14 Jul 2008 20:52:10 -0700 Updating previous reports, Mike Chappell, of the Indianapolis Star, reports Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning (knee) is uncertain for the Sept. 7 regular-season opener against the Chicago Bears following surgery to remove an infected bursa sac in his left knee. The Colts report to training camp July 24. Colts | Manning undergoes knee surgery; out 4-6 weeks Mon, 14 Jul 2008 19:48:11 -0700 The Indianapolis Colts have announced QB Peyton Manning (knee) had an infected bursa sac removed from his left knee Monday, July 14, and he is expected to make a full recovery. The procedure was routine and Manning should be back at full strength in four to six weeks. Lets hope that he is still in recovery from the injury so we can beat the Colts in the season opener!
  20. What I would have done was traded Manning to Cleveland for Bentley. This way we didn't loose much in the secondary but we would have gained a better lineman than Metcalf. I watched the Bears playing the Saints when he was there and he was blocking Harris, Urlacher and a few other Bears all over the field. He was also pulling from the center spot...which is kinda hard to do in the NFL.
  21. You say we have some inexperienced WR and a RB, but didn't the Packers have the same thing last year?
  22. Wesson44

    Brett Farve

So let's say you have heard that the Packers don't want Brett Farve back because he has retired and the Packers have moved on to Mr.Rodgers neighborhood. Would you as the GM for the Bears make a move for him if he still wants to play and the Packers cut him?
  23. Wesson44

    Bentley

You are making a point that Garza can't play LG. If you look at the film in back when he first joined the Bears Garza was playing LG and Metcalf was playing RG, so Garza can play both..

    New Tackles

    Since we will have a new LT (Williams)and a new RT(Tait) what teams DE do you think will give them the most problems this year? Colts =Mathis/Freeney Panthers=Peppers/Johnson Bucs=Adams/Douglas Eagles=Parker/Cole Lions x 2 =Devires/White Falcons=Abraham/Anderson Vikings x 2 =Allen/Edwards Titians=Kearse/Vanden Bosch Packers x 2 =Kampman/Jenkins Rams=Little/Long Jags=Spicer/Hayward Saints=Grant/Smith Texans=Weaver/Williams
  25. LOL yes I know water is wet but can the offense carry the defense this year is the question. Well they don't have to carry the D but can they avoid the turn overs that killed us last year. Do you think that we will have a better running game to keep the D off the field? Can our group of WR/TE and QB'S step up and make the offense a ball control team? Do you think we have a quick strike passing game with the WR we have? Can the O-line pass block and oopen holes this year? IMHO these are a lot of question that need to be answered and if we can answer yes to them we will do major damage this year.
