  1. I don't agree with the idea that losing Berrian will equal a long season at all, he is definitely expendable. If we lose him, someone like Booker will pick up most of the slack, and if Hester and/or Hester or one of the other young receivers like Haas come through we will be fine....as long as we pick up a decent FA receiver.
  2. I am kind of with Flea on this one, I am not sure how I feel about this signing. In a way it is a relief to know that you have someone in there that has shown flashes of greatness, on the other hand it is horrifying to think of suffering through more botched snaps and multiple interception type games. If Rex improves his consistency, he could be special. If he doesn't, he will be no more than a bench warmer. I don't see us taking a QB in the draft with all of the other needs we have, like OL. I would think we would have to grab one of these great O-tackles that are being discussed so much. We need a major line improvement.
  3. We will be thin if we lose Berrian as well...I hope serious thought is being given for Booker, or some good FA WR. Hester could be a good one but it is way too early to tell, Bradley has never stepped up, Davis is solid but relatively unproven and hasn't been a starter. Haas could turn out to be good, but there are too many "could be's" in the current crop of WR's.
  4. That is EXACTLY one of my main concerns. I thought it was crap every time they gave Grossman the job before camp, and if they do again, particularly now, it is a HUGE mistake IMO. Either Griese or Orton could start IMO, and I think they should be given a chance to do so. If Grossman cannot be consistent and show improvement, he needs to be benched. Quickly. It is tough for me to say whether we should look for another QB. With the pressure on the QB due to the OL poor performance last year, maybe any QB would have struggled.....I just am not sure though........
  5. You definitely need to relax, hopefully one of the mods will notice you and kick you out of here if you keep up your crap. You do not strike me as much of an expert, either................
  6. As everyone else has said, sad to see a class act go, but it was necessary. It seems obvious that there are going to be alot of new faces on OLine this year... Kind of makes you sick that the coaches denied that there was a problem during the season last year, eh?
  7. Hmmm, the decision about whether to let go of Rex is a tough one, but I would tend to keep him if he is not too expensive. He is still young, knows the system, players like him, and has shown signs of great talent. He just needs to be more consistent. How about a real competition in camp to determine the starter? I don't know if Lovie would allow such a thing, as he seems to enjoy giving the job away before camp even starts, but a real competition would be great IMO.
  8. As mentioned in this thread and many others, have you ever been made aware of the theory that Briggs benefits from playing the linebacker position that he does in the current defensive structure, AND benefits from playing next to Urlacher?
  9. If you think every player who is an all-pro once or twice deserves the kind of money and committment that Briggs wants automatically, then you are sadly mistaken. There are plenty of players who were all pros at one time or another that did not prove to be exceptional players......look down the rosters of past all pro teams if you doubt...
  10. He better be visiting us next.....
  11. I sincerely hope that Briggs is not signed, he is overrated and lacks character. As said before, he is not a big hitter, he is not that fast, he is solid, AKA slightly above average. Let him go. AND, even if he was the best thing since Singletary, he has to go after all of the shite he talked last year about Chicago, not to mention leaving his Lamborghini on the highway and reporting it stolen initially....not to mention his illegitimate children. Please...what a loser. Berrian, he is a good player, but I would not break the bank on him. Getting rid of "Moose" was a good step, and it would be nice to have Berrian back to maintain some continuity. But not if we have to pay Randy Moss/Terrell Owens type money. I think Booker would be a great pickup right now.......... Harris is a great player, has been hurt alot....how much does he want? If he wants top defensive player type money, then I say bye bye. He has not earned that type of money yet. Big money, yes, top defensive player money being hurt like he has? Nope........ Let's spend some money on OLine, let the linebackers we have take up the slack for Briggs, see if Bradley can produce and some of the backups we have can step up, and see what happens. Much will depend on the QB!
