  1. Risky throw by Cutler. Horrible effort by the OL.
  2. But hasn't that been the case THE ENTIRE SEASON!? On both lines?
  3. Agreed. That was horseshit. That was not a hold. The guy slipped and it made the block look like a hold. Cost the Bears at least three points. In officiating clinics, from the NFL to high school, they say you should see the entire play, and it should be a penalty that stands out to the guy in the nose-bleeds. They say you should act like a cop, and you never pull someone over for 56 in a 55. You get'em for 70 in a 55. That "hold" was a 56 in a 55.
  4. That's three, THREE, passes that Cutler has missed Hester when he has been open. Huge. The first one would have had the Bears on the Packers 10. The second was Hester on a drag outlet that would have gone for decent yards. The third was probably a missed TD. Huge.
  5. That's what I think. I hate the way this defense plays, regardless of the results. It is a philosophy that contends one of two things: 1) The other team will make a mistake 2) The defense will cause the other team to turn the ball over Percentage-wise, it's hard to argue with. I admit that. The problem is, with sound teams who have decent offensive lines, the QB just has to sit back and find the gaps in the zone. Or throw slants all day, apparently. It's even worse - as we have seen this game - when the Bears' front four gets stoned, and the LBs can't fill the gaps, because they it opens up the run as well.
  6. I wouldn't say it's over, but it's not looking good.
  7. That was 5 successful slants. Lucky the OL had a FS. We'll call it 4.5.
  8. Wow. Just wow. Worst OL in the NFL, and it's not even close. Anyone who says that the Bears first and second priorities in the draft aren't OL just haven't been watching the games. Unreal.
  9. After the first drive, I would have called that an F- quarter. Now, however, I'd say it's a C. Positives: -The beginnings of room in the running game -The beginning of pressure on D -Peppers destroying the OTs -Decent coverage by the Bears secondary Negatives: -Field position -Horrible OL play on a sack and a FS -Bad overthrow by Cutler on a play that could have been huge -Hester has been neutralized on ST
  10. Remind me again why the Bears blitz so infrequently?
  11. I could've sworn it was 4. But you're probably right. I guess anger blinded me. 5 on 3, and they can't stop it. Pathetic.
  12. Deep slant, again. I think that is four if you're counting.
  13. That had very little to do with Cutler not getting rid of the ball. What did he have, 1 second before the pocket collapsed? That's what a horrible OL gets you.
  14. That sack pisses me off. Five on the OL, with no TE or RB help. There is no way the Bears shit OL can stop the packers four man rush. I hate this OL right now. And I'm pissed that Martz insists on trusting them. As if the entire season was not a big clue. Round 1: OL. Round 2: OL. Round 3: OL. Etc.
  15. Peppers was huge that drive. Two QB pressures led to two quick throws. Big series for the Bears.
  16. Slant...again. It's just pitch and catch at this point. The defense is playing like shit.
  17. C'mon Cutler!! That should have been a first down on the Packers ten...but had to settle for the punt. Promising start for the offense.
  18. How many freakin times do the Bears have to see the other team gash them with the slant pattern - whether short or deep - before SOMETHING is changed? What a horrible start.
  19. I watched the game against the Seahawks again, and I noticed that there was a LOT of max protect. On a few plays the Bears had 6 or 7 guys in blocking a 4-man rush. Made me think of two things: 1) Did anyone else notice this? 2) Is this something that should be used repeatedly against the Packers?
  20. I would retitle the first one "AWOL Tommie Harris," and combine it with Devin Aromashodu. If someone had told me before the season that DA would languish on the bench the majority of the season, especially after destroying it towards the end of last year, I would have called it insanity.
  21. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA!!! I laughed hard. Shared it already with a few packer fans.
  22. The former can barely conjugate a verb while giving an interview, so I'll steer clear of his critical analysis, regardless of his stellar career. The latter is kind of a surprise, because I didn't think any non-Chicago sportswriter would be choosing the Bears. And before anyone says anything about the comment, the former NFL guys, for all they know about playing the game, don't know dick when it comes to picking winners. Each of us could do just as good a job, if not better.
  23. Here are a few reasons the Bears can play the disrespect card: 1. Split series, yet everyone is picking GB 2. The Packers win was a must-win, and the the Bears had nothing to play for...yet it was close. 3. Remind me again, who won the NFC North? 4. Playing at home. 5. Many saying Cutler is the fourth best QB left. 6. People are fellating the GB defense, but barely mentioning how the Bears defense completely shut down the Packers in the last game. 7. Lot more talk about the flowing locks of Matthews instead of the bald head of Urlacher. 8. Early game instead of the primetime game. 9. The Packers are the official favorite, getting 3 points 10. We'll see what these guys say in the next few days, but I expect I already know... http://espn.go.com/nfl/picks
  24. This is a pretty good article about the Bears' offensive alignments and the Packers' defensive alignments. http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id...martz-vs-capers
  25. That's an awesome video. Peppers was bull-rushing the hell out of Okung, and directly led to Tommie Harris's two sacks.
