I have the Saints defense and after Thurs night's performance I'm concerned about the Saints D this season. They netted me whopping 4 points, my kicker got me more points than that. the available Defenses in FA are listed below but non of them gets me that excited either. I could try to trade for a better defense, or is it too early to give up on the saints D. Of course next week I hope they totally tank again. hopefully neither is too serious. Ankle sprain for an Offensive linemen is a tough one. if it's minor maybe 1-2 weeks. Spencer didn't do too bad filling in not that he was replacing a pro bowl guard. Roy was looking pretty good till he came up lame on that last catch. Hope it's minor too, but even if it isn't minor we have Knox who's hungry and more than happy to step in and make a bid to take over the #1 job from Roy. Signing Roy I think has lit a fire under Knox and that's a good thing. Considering the other injuries suffered around the league in week one I'd say we escaped in pretty good shape and may get another piece back next week with Barber possibly returning. Bell made some nice runs glad to see him get in the action he's earned some playing time. As has Dane, though the end around with Dane never had a shot that's not his strength. Good to see us finding some talent in the undrafted FA class.

Here's hoping the Aints keep Kruetz in at least one more week before they realize he just might be washed up lol. I love Kruetz and what he did here but I think his best move would have been to retire he just doesn't have it anymore. The past few years he's gotten progressively worse what he's doing now is just trying to extend a career that he should just walk away from.

That was a brilliant play call, execution was great up to the throw and it sailed a bit on Cutler. From the replay it almost looked like Davis had room to adjust to the ball but stood there and let it go over his head. But great play call and if executed that was a walk in TD. I like some of the wrinkles that Marts is throwing in here and there. I still think Hester did score on that long run... bad camera angles cost us a TD on that play but we got it on the next play anyway. I thought we got a bit cutesy on that drive that resulted in the turnover for the TD. I liked us staying aggressive but I think you need to be smart about that too and not try to get too clever for your own good.

Bears kicked arse today against on of the "experts" teams, The Chargers came back to beat the Vikings, and my fantasy team will likely lead all scores this week with nearly 180 fantasy points. Been a good weekend for sports here lol Looking forward to talking a little smack. The guy I was matched up with this week, his team is named "Running Away With it"

Nothing was more enjoyable than watching our D-Line get constant pressure with just the front four we didn't need to blitz much and played coverage most of the day with the back 7 limiting the big plays. This is why defensive line penetration is so critical to our defensive scheme. When we have to take guys out of the secondary to assist with pressure and run stopping it put's more pressure on the secondary. I will admit going in to this game I was nervous given the hype. But other than a atheletic play on Atlanta's D giving them their only TD. We held the high powerered, unstoppable, super bowl bound offense with the second coming at QB to..... 2 field goals..... that's right not a typo.... 2 FGs. LOL HA HA HA HA HA

Really glad I didn't pick Manning in my work fantasy league. I was surprised he went #9 overall in our draft. By a Colts fan who also drafted Clark and Wayne. lol I've only got one Colt on my team and that's Joseph Addai which now with the mess there I'm considering shopping him as trade bate if there's no takers I may either keep him or drop him. With no manning teams will stack the box and dare the colts to throw whether it's grey beard or finger painter.

Lost out on Harvin I had the lowest claim priority and so I lost out on him and the other two WR's I was looking at. Would you change anything about the starting linup? based on what I have. Anyone I pick up at this point will be a bench player this week. This was poorly played on my part I should have picked up Amandola at least till I knew if I'd get Harvin or not. Do you think I should make any changes to this lineup? I made a couple moves placing Calvin Johnson back at WR in place of Holmes, and placed Ray Rice back to RB in place of Joseph Addai. Here's a screen shot of my game center. I am one player short but I have made a waiver claim on Percy Harvin. I probably should have picked up Armandola or Lance Moore, both were picked up while I was waiting on Harvin to clear waivers. Now if he doesn't I won't get Harvin or either of my two second choices. Had I picked one of those two up and placed a claim on Harvin I'd have been in a better spot should I not get Harvin. Live and learn I guess.

In our PPR league I traded Pierre Thomas and Willis McGahee for Matt Forte. This trade opened a roster spot for me but required the other guy to drop a player. I was absolutely shocked at who he dropped. Percy Harvin??? even more shocking considering it now leaves him with only 2 WR on his roster (bench included, and 6 RB) He also has 3 QB, 2 Def, 1 TE, and 1 kicker. Personally I'd have dropped one of my RBs or my 3rd QB and that would be Matt Flyn since he'll likely only get snaps in a blowout or the very unlikely case where Rodgers goes down with injury beyond maybe a one game loss for concussion. If I were to handcuff a QB (which I wouldn't) I'd see it more on a QB who isn't playing behind a starter who is firmly entrenched as #1 and/or is extremely durable. I was considering going after WR to fill out my roster and like both Danny Amendola and Lance Moore but now Harvin is there on the Waiver wire and so tempting. We have a 1 day wait on waiver claims our waivers reset each week in reverse order of standings but since week 1 hasn't started yet it would that go by reverse draft order in which case I have the lowest waiver claim priority. Either way I think it would be smart to make a claim on him and see if I can grab him, if not go with one of the guys I was looking at anyway. Doubtful that i'll get him since I have the lowest claim priority and he's likely to get a claim bid by someone unless people are hoping he clears waivers by Wed but worth a try I think.

both of those are good options. I need to get a hold of our league manager he was going to change the trade wait settings. Currently the trade is offered, once accepted it has to wait two days for leauge review and vote if enough people say no to it the trade is declined. Which is dumb since really it's no other teams business when we trade players if the two teams in question agree it should be final. The wait puts me in a limbo spot since the trade involves me sending two players his way for one my way creating a virtual open roster spot which I want to fill, but cant till monday. If a player I want for that spot get snatched before my trade becomes "official" then I get screwed out of a player. Plus it's a bad rule since lets say one or more other teams wanted that guy and decide to decline the trade simply because they want a crack at that guy. The league manager needs to change that setting or this is going to create a lot of chaos in our league. In Fantasy football being hamstrung for 2 days is an eternity.

Another guy in my league picked him up as well as Mcfadden, Forte, Ryan Grant, and Woodhead. I did pry forte from him though the trade won't be reflected in my roster till Monday. Still a backfield of CJ and McFadden isn't too shabby with backups in Ryan Grant and Woodhead. We have a titans fan in our league and he swore up and down he didn't want CJ because of the contract. We all were like your bluffing and just trying to drive his stock down so you can nab him at 8. He went #7 in our league.

Who'd you take in rounds 1-5? I would guess 1 was charles. Mendy in 2, then nicks, austin, and knox. Probably should have taken a QB a round or two earlier but hard to say depending on how the draft is going. I know there are guys I thought would drop so I held off and sure enough they didn't lol nature of the beast. I think Freeman can be a good starer not great but good, Orton, isn't spectacular but not horrible, what's going to carry your team is the RBs WRs, TE. I think your solid pretty much everywhere but QB but if Freeman lives up to the hype you should be in good shape.

I may try to trade NO defense for the Bears D and pick up Hester from as a FA to fill my roster spot from or pick up another RB who may vulture some TD's. Well we decided our draft order today by drawing names from a hat. I wound up with the 1st overall pick in a 15 round 10 team PPR league. While I like the idea of having the #1 overall, the drawback is that it's an eternity till my next pick since the draft order will snake. But it also means when I do pick I get to pick twice on all my next remaining picks. My first thought is AP #1 but I have looked at various different ppr rankings for RB and I see AP anywhere from 1st to 3rd often behind Foster and Ray Rice. I can kind of see the arguments for Rice and Foster. Foster worries me because of the hamstring which does seem minor and he's making good progress I know that a hammy can be a nagging injury that can negate a RB's speed by not being able to fully open up in the open field to out run defenders. He has also lost his full back who was one of the best in the league and was a factor in his running. The do employ the zone blocking scheme that has been known to aid RBs ala Denver in the Shanny days. Ray Rice is a decent option as he should get the bulk of the load and the ravens do throw to the back. But while I think he's a very solid Fantasy RB I just don't see taking him #1 overall maybe I'm wrong. However he does now have the same fullback blocking for him that helped Foster last season. And word is he will get the 3rd down and goal line carries this year as he no longer has McGahee to vulture those carries. Where as AP may not always get those.

I say pick him up, start him at C, Spencer would be a backup with starting experience who is a natural C. Move Garza back to Guard and now we have some good depth at the center position.
