That would be Peppers

instead of playing our best ball we look like we are regressing. Makes me wonder if we are capable of playing well in cold weather now.
-
not a good start

Pats pulled it out but looked like they expected to just show up and win and had to refocus. I hope the Bears were watching this game and realize that you need to show up and play.

Patriots playing their worst game of the year making the Packers look like world beaters... if GB wins this game I will throw up.
-
There's no way the league would do that. That would give the Bears two home games against the Vikings and that would not happen. First game was at Soldier Field so the second game has to be either at the dome or a neutral field.

I agree, once you are in anything can happen. Personally eaking in to me is more like when you get a wildcard spot with lots of help. That's not the position we are in right now. We are 1.5 games up on the Packers for the NFC north. We are in control of our playoff destiny. Win to stay ahead of the Packers and we take the division. week 15- I don't see the Packers beating the Pats this coming weekend and we have the vikings week 16 - Don't see the Packers beating the Giants and we host the struggling Jets week 17 - The showdown at GB at best I see them coming in at 9-6 and us being either 10-5 or 11-4 where a loss to GB still takes the division. Where GB blew it was against the Lions they put themselves behind the 8 ball with that loss. They need to win and need us to lose in order to win the division there are otherwise they need some help to get into the playoffs.

that's funny you should mention Madden because that's what it looked like in the first half. I was hoping we could beat or at least compete but we deserved to lose the way we did. We do need to get better this coming off-season if we want to compete with the likes of the Pats. They are an elite team in the NFL. My thoughts before the season was that the AFC is stronger than the NFC. I think the Pats are head and shoulders above either conference so who ever from the NFC makes it to the SB will face the Pats most likely.

Completely agree. Our defensive weakness, is their offensive strength it's a matchup made in hell if we go into it and don't acknowledge that fact which we clearly didn't. We looked lost both in coaching and on the field. It really became a game where we could do no right and they could do no wrong. I know I went a little far on the game thread yesterday but I was more frustrated with our team and coaches than anything. The Bears looked and played like a student who didn't study or pay attention and is surprised by the midterm exam like it were a pop quiz. The team wasn't prepared, didn't game plan, didn't execute. I hate losing especially the way they got beat. If the Bears were beginning to believe they were good to great or getting satisfied this should be a slap in the face to wake them up to the reality that the Patriots are on a completely different level in all areas of that franchise. Is it time to slap the Titanic label on the Bears and this season. no it's not. GB lost yesterday, and will play these same patriots next week at NE likely without Rodgers though Flynn did play well for a guy who hadn't had much of any reps. This loss also was not a conference loss, the next three games however are conference games and two of them being division games. We haven't lost ground to GB in our division. Blow outs happen we were out classed and out played it was a miserable game to watch but it was "a" game and I don't care if Minny has to play the game in the street against us with whoever they chose at QB we need to prepare for them like they are a team who has their act together and is playing their best ball. they have played better as a team since chilly got canned. Having our arses handed to us yesterday should teach us to never be complacent. It should also show us that we may need to alter our scheme defensively based on the opponent rather than just trust in perfect execution. What this scheme gives up is NE's bread and butter and they are not a team that typically will make mistakes on long drives the way to play NE would have been to give them a different look. We need to have a strong showing against the Vikings that will tell a lot about where the Bears are mentally and as a team and coaching staff. The Jets took virtually the same beating we did and they didn't bounce back well the next week. If the Bears bounce back and have a strong showing then that will be a good sign. if we struggle to win or lose next week then the odds are we'll play ourselves out of the playoffs. I still think we can make the playoffs and make some noise in the playoffs. How far we get I don't know but even if we were to make it to the superbowl the way things are going we'd face NE and talk about a role reversal from the 85 superbowl. I think we can hang on to the #2 seed and possibly win one playoff game but lose in the NFC Championship game should we reach that point. If we get in as a wild card team then I don't think we make it as far. Hard to say though, once you are in the playoffs anything can happen. If the Bears expect to go deep then they need to win at min 2 of the next 3 if not all three. All three teams are beatable and so are the Bears so these next 3 weeks will be critical (understatment I know). The Bears are still in control of their own destiny for the most part. Stay ahead of the packers and we are in and either host a wildcard game or host a divisional game with the bye week. The goal should be to win out and hopefully get that first round bye and use that to get everyone on the same page.

must be a mercy call to wipe out that return for a TD can't believe the official called that... he'll probably be fined by the Pats -

and the patriots are a team that will try and score as many points as they can no matter how far up they are by. They are the definition of poor sportsmanship and running up the score whenever possible. -

Step one. Packers lost today

in the Lions Packers game Rodgers chooses not to slide and gets hit and gets a concussion won't return to the game it's 0-0 at the half Detroit has a good shot if they can find some offense

how fitting lol

Let's run the table. I know that seems crazy to think but... we have NE at Chicago on a short week after they beat the Jest silly. Pats are a cocky team, an overconfident pats team coming here on a short week is a good thing, that alone doesn't make this a win but many in the media, and many of us weren't sure what to expect from the Philly game at Chicago. And we dominated them. I feel like it's possible we can take this game. At Minny this one scares me more than it did before chilly got canned. But Minny hasn't exactly beaten a couple of juggernauts in the Redskins and the Bills. I know we lost to Washington and barely beat the Bills but we are also playing much better now than we were when we faced those two teams. Jets at Chicago after licking their wounds against the fish and a tough game against the Steelers. Their passing game doesn't scare me and we are good against the run. They are down to begging people off the street to come play safety for them after the Pats game they were down to two active safeties on their game day roster. I think their defense can be exploited by a balanced attack. GB at Lambo this one should be interesting they have a tough schedule coming up Lions seem to be getting closer and closer to putting together a complete game, they travel to NE the week after the Bears host the pats and should we beat the pats at home they could take it out on the Packers, their last two are home games but against the Giant (who knows which giants team shows up), and then host the Bears. I think it's possible for us to win out. The next three weeks can either make the GB game critical or inconsequential, either way we will know by kickoff more than likely if the GB game is a must win. The toughest games in this stretch look to be the NE and the GB games. Jets and Vikes don't scare me enough to panic. I will say this much, I didn't think at this point in the season I'd be even thinking playoffs this year let alone that we could have a real shot at the #2 seed. No matter how far the Bears go this season and post season, this has been a fun season to watch this team mature. Now change and chicago bears can be used in the same sentence without drawing laughter or invoking anger.

totally agree, and it is lazy and typical of the "bears got lucky again" crowd. Well put, the two situations aren't even in the same league. The result was first and goal at the 7 vs 2nd and 2 from the 14 trailing by 3 with 9 min left. To say that we got lucky and that that call lost the Lions the game is a huge reach at best. Just watched the game again and I personally believe it was the right call. When the official has to make a judgment call at game speed. He was wrong that it wasn't a forearm but the shove was to the back of the head and wasn't necessary Cutler was already going down Suh didn't need to extend to his arms to shove Cutler down like that. It was an unnecessary shove. What I think drew the foul more was the violent way he did it. He could have just wrapped him up from behind and achieved the same effect. That to me was a cheep shot and as such deserved to be called as it was.
