  1. this is possibly our week to get blown out 59-0
  2. Because we are unprepared, uninspired, and poorly coached. Our players don't give a dam and are ok with loosing and looking bad doing it.
  3. yet another uncontested TD.... 14 nothing. We are a friggin joke
  4. The Bears look like they have mailed it in already. Sick of watching this crap
  5. IMO the reason we are blitzing so much is because a of a lack of talent in the secondary. I think the hope is that we can get to the QB before we can get burned down field. Sadly though that hasn't worked and teams abilities to pick up our blitzes has allowed opposing QB's time to then pick us apart. A DB's job gets harder the longer the play goes even for good DB's when your DB's are mediocre at best continual failed blitzing is pure suicide. Blitzing for the sake of blitzing isn't a good strategy we need to be more creative and careful with our blitzing. We simply do not have the secondary to make up for failed blitzes down after down. IMO we are gambling on D and are loosing that gamble more often than not.
  6. Totally agree, this deal works for everyone. It gives him an extension, gives the Bears time to build around him and evaluate if he truly is the best fit for the Bears (not saying he isn't or that I'm not thrilled with him), and if the next deal is big it means that he has done what we brought him here to do. It also stabilizes the QB position so we can address the other need areas on the team. Namely OL and many have pointed out it does help to have a franchise QB if he's constantly being pounded, harassed and generally running for his life down after down. Next priority is evaluate, and come up with a plan to fix the OL.
  7. 3 turnovers in scoring position (including the turnover on downs) were the killers. first one the pick, the defensive free roamer able to make the play on a ball thrown too far outside. second, first and goal inches from the goal line and we fumble not once but twice on consecutive plays resulting in turn over. Third the final drive we had opportunity after opportunity and we shoot ourselves in the foot with stupid penalties offensive pass interference and we were in a hole on 3rd down on our own 29 needing the 4. We nearly get the first down. Then the offsides making it 4th and a long 5. and an incomplete pass. The other turnover was the pick on an overthrow when we were moving the ball. Conclusion this was sloppily played game and we deserved to lose. Inexcusable, we had two weeks to prepare for this game. This is one we should have won and these types of losses are the ones that can come back to haunt you.
  8. against Pit, Troy is back and the steelers look like they are back on track. GB looked good today against Detroit but... who wouldn't. Bret Fart is getting the praise for working his magic the win again sure did play well but if Balt makes that FG it's all moot. Getting sick of all the Favre ars kissing. If that's not bad enough he's now on the team I hate most. I'd love nothing more than to see us sweep them.
  9. Not that there are games we don't need to win but with Minn getting lucky yet again are now 6-0 GB winning are 3-2. A win tonight puts us at 4-1 and keeps us a game behind Minny a loss drops us to 3-2 and puts us with the Packers at 2 games back Plus it's a conference game. To win we are going to have to play a complete game Atlanta is too good to waltz in there and sleepwalk through the first half and expect to pull it out in the second half. We must establish the run and win the time of possession battle. Atlanta is a fast track we need to utilize that with our speed guys Hester and Knox. Offensive line needs to protect Jay Defensively we need to get pressure on Ryan early and often. We need to be smart on defense and not let them just play pitch and catch up and down the field. Must make them work for every inch they get.
  10. Queens get lucky again.... unbelievable
  11. Tight game. Balt with 2 seconds left a 44 yard fg can win this. Down by 2. Flacco has played well

    Poll

considering that the vast majority of QB's to don a Bears uniform have been the antithesis of competency. A list of guys that read like a list of who's who for the wall of shame. it's hard to remove the expectations from consideration since we've been looking for a franchise QB for most of this franchises lifetime. Often when we've drafted a guy high, traded for, or signed as a free agent any potential promising prospect (see also any QB who has yet to fail us = promising) many of whom were "expected" to be the saviour. Some were duds from the get go some showed flashes of competency. Some were good but couldn't stay healthy like Jimmy Mac, Erik Kramer, Jim Miller, Rex Grossman (who turned out to be just as detrimental to the team on the field as he was in rehab). My memory also only extends back to Jimmy Mac. So many of the guys already mentioned come to mind and I'll also add the exploits of Rick Mirer (sp?), PT Willis, Cade, Will Furer Steve Stenstrom, Noodle arm Mathews, & Krenzel Now some of these guys had some limited success but nothing to get to excited about.
  13. And I agree with Thayer that hit started high just like the one Cutler was flagged for. Seems after Favre injured a guy with a real crack back they have been over anxious to flag guys for crackbacks. And yes the bogus face mask was AB and it was a clean tackle that gave the Lions their second fresh set of downs after we forced a FG attempt. All Whale got was jersy and never got near his neck. There's a reason it wasn't called horscollar on the field and that's because it wasn't. If Stafford hadn'd been injured on the play it would have never drew a fine. The play in question
  14. Agree and I'd like to see Stafford can stay healthy he's got talent. I mentioned earlier that I can't recall the last time all the teams in our division were competitive. The Lions have been the bottom feeder of the NFC North for a long time back to when it was the NFC Central. They won't be able to use the "well it's a weak division" excuse anymore. Right now it's 3 team race but before long the Lions could enter that race.
  15. I'd say Minny is the team I most hate, probably stems from Dwayne Crudd. But there's more to it... I can't find anything redeeming about that franchise that I respect outside of AP. The substance abusing Williams wall of lard covered in legal teflon. Jared Allen, Brett Favre. Randy Moss (when he was there). Now that Favre is there I hope they win nothing. So sick of Favre and I never want to see him hoist another Lambardi ever again. GB I is more like a rival where there's a respect but when we are playing them I hate their guts and want to see them squashed when they aren't playing us I still enjoy watching them lose. Favre through the years made me hate them because they not only beat us but they would rub your faces in it. Packer fans for the most part are some of the most annoying obnoxious people I've ever had the displeasure of being around. Listening to the announcers last night was equally annoying. May as well end the season now and hand Minn the Lambardi. Their ready to crown them. If memory serves me correct, Favre started out hot last year in NY and by mid/late season he was a turnover machine. Enjoy the good Farve while he lasts Minny. Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.
  16. ugly game for the Packers. I honestly expected a more competitive game. Favre hasn't even had to break a sweat, no pressure at all from Green Bay's D-Line, on the other side Rodgers has been harassed regularly. Question: Are the Vikings that good or the Packers that bad? I hate the Vikings. NFC North Standings will be Queens 4-0 Bears 3-1 Packers 2-2 Lions 1-3 In one respect this isn't a bad outcome as it now puts GB in a bad spot and we are one game back of the Vikings the head to head matchups against could be the key games for winning the NFC north
  17. One could argue that physics allowed the ball to land just inside the end zone slightly ahead of where he let it go. Knox was running pretty fast (though decelerating as he got to the end zone but still going fast) and some of that forward momentum could have carried the ball forward. But that's splitting hairs mere trifles. At the end of the day it doesn't matter as the TD stood and he's well aware that what he did wasn't acceptable and I'm sure we won't see him do that again. I agree with nfo it's a best case lesson and one of the rare times we get away with one. Even had it been reviewed the angle may have made it difficult to conclusively say it was a fumble. But no one batted an eye as it happened because that's the last thing anyone expected
  18. Or be prepared to scroll quickly before anyone sees it lol
  19. The offense came out swinging but had to as the defense was sleepwalking for much of the first half. I agree with the postgame comments. If you want to be considered a good defense or a great defense you cannot give up drives 70, 72, and 98 for TD's in the first half.... you can't do that. I probably have the numbers a little wrong I'm going from memory but it was two drives of 70+ and a drive of 98. When special teams (specifically Maynard) pins you down deep you can't keep letting them drive the length of the field. If the offense didn't answer those first half TD's we go into halftime down 21-0 or something like that. Which completely changes the dynamic and give Detroit a ton of confidence and puts us behind the 8 ball.
  20. gotta love Cutlers moxie. I bet Jerry's heart skipped a beat though lol People that question his heart that was a gutsy play to expose his body like that.
  21. It isn't the best angle but I do believe he does let it go before he actually reaches the end zone. Albeit it's a split second.
  22. good point, in a game like this there was no point to rush players back.
  23. Did anyone else have flashbacks of Jimmy Mac when Jay dove for the end zone from two yards out? We have a QB who is athletic and has a cannon, who can beat you multiple ways.
  24. This is a good way to go into the bye week
