  1. Good to know there is someone here who I can go to for the definition of being a Bears fan....I am thinking for the long term for the team, not stumbling into the playoffs with no hope of going anywhere etc.
  2. I am clearly in with the hope of two losses to end the year, resulting in better draft picks and improved chances of public clamour assisting to prompt management to dump Lovie. Hate to say it, but those are my feelings. The season is gone regardless, and I don't want to see the Bears get burned up in the first round of the playoffs regardless.
  3. Exactly my feelings, we are not getting better and another year under Lovie and Co will reap more of the same. Come on Emery, let's get some new blood and move to the next level!
  4. I am not expert but I felt the first was legit, the second was a Shields flop, and the third technically maybe a call but if getting that picky Shields was way more guilty. Crap officiating throughout IMO...
  5. I am more and more taking the view that I vote with my feet when the team sucks, meaning I do not attend games or buy merchandise....I am still a fan, but will not support mediocrity, and this year I would not waste a dime on going to see them for the rest of the year. Furthermore, I will cancel the sports Sky package one needs in the UK to see US Football as I bought it to watch the Bears and they are not worth watching any longer this year. I bet if lots of people took this approach the team might be a bit more desperate to win....
  6. I am not surprised at all by his comments, perfectly in line with his general arrogant demeanour. If he thinks Chicago is the only place teams get booed, he is not paying much attention....
  7. I tend to agree it is probably time for him to go I guess, I have real mixed feelings. He certainly isn't getting us to the next level and I have to agree with others about the lack of talent evaluation skills and the unsound defensive philosophy. I would add that some of his assistance coach choices have been poor, see Mike Tice as O coordinator recently which reminds me of the Jauron/Shoop affair. I tend to think with a better D coordinator we had the team to go farther than we have recently, especially this year although injuries didn't help. I just hope that if we get someone else we are very careful about who we get and try to ensure a good chance for success. I bet we don't make the playoffs this year with the way things are going, which might just give many of us here a better chance for our hopes to be met.
  8. So many of us have expressed dissatisfaction with Lovie and Co,. wondering on thoughts about next year for Lovie and staff. I was talking to my dad last night and it led me to feel that maybe it would be best to keep him on, he has been a good figure for Chicago and with the help of Emery in the future maybe he will have the players to take us to the big game. I say this with some trepidation as I am not a fan of his Defensive philosophy but overall he seems to do a good job... What do the experts think?

    Cutler

That interview was the most personable I have seen with Cutler, it is good to hear him relaxed and professional. As much as I have concerns about him I cannot imagine not re-signing him, with the right cast around him he could be the man for us IMO.
  10. I fear with the injuries and difficulties on the O Line this year is probably not going to end well, but cannot fault Lovie and Co all that much. As much as I do not like his defensive system he seems to be a solid coach and has performed pretty well over the years all things considered. He has been a good face for the city. That being said, I hope that Emery will continue to address the O Line and pick us up some new blood. Urlacher seems to be finished and we will need some help at LB as well.....
  11. Campbell to be the man.....not feeling nearly as concerned as I would have last year with the backups.
  12. As much as I would hate to see Tillman unable to play, I would support his decision if he felt he needed to be elsewhere. He has been nothing but pure class since he came to play for the Bears and just seems to get better as a player every year.....Peanut is one of my favourite Bears players!
  13. Interesting what Tice had to say at the end...regardless, what a talent Marshall is, he has been a real difference maker this year!
  14. Tillman is awesome, jersey order on the way.
  15. Bwahhaaaaa, we have a lead! Let the dogs loose!
  16. Special teams snatch victories like these....I feel much more optimistic after seeing the team do what is needed to get a win.
  17. Bears win! We may just have a special team on our hands...
  18. Darn, has Lovie been the coach that long? Time flies.... You are right, of course, that being the case. Don't get me wrong, I love the defence, guess I just cannot forget the excitement of watching some of those eighties defences and seeing some modern teams employ less of a zone type defence and doing well.
  19. 1) There are still many teams running much more aggressive defences than we do, I would like a more aggressive defence regardless of what you call it. Lovie put his defence in when he came and his emphasis has always seemed to be fitting the players to the system, not vice versa. 2. We will see about Cutler, I hope you are right. 3. Agreed, hope they continue to jell and improve. Emery seems to be a great addition.
  20. I certainly wouldn't say I don't like the team, they are obviously winning and looking good for the most part. However, I share some of the views of other posters regarding some ambivalence in relation to some aspects of the team, such as: 1) Defensive Scheme: Maybe I am way too much of an old-timer, but for me the aggressive 46 type defence is the only defence that fits Chicago. I have never liked zone/bend don't break defences, both in terms of watching them play or the results of their use, and can never fully enjoy the D when we are using this type of scheme. That being said, we obviously have some great guys playing on D. 2) I am not sold on Cutler at all, no question he has the talent to be a great one but I still question the mind part of the equation. I totally dislike the image that he provides for the Bears. 3) The O line does not appear to be solid at all yet and only time will tell if they can be good enough to get us to the big games.
  21. I was finally able to watch the full game and felt like most others that Marshall was really special. Also very encouraged by Jeffery, I have every confidence he is going to be getting better and better and will be a huge asset. Forte looked very strong and the O line did not look too bad. Cutler was a bit erratic in the beginning but certainly made many good throws and I am sure is going to have a great year. The defence did not get much pressure and seemed a bit porous, especially against a pretty weak Colts team, but they were playing alot of prevent in the 2nd half etc.... We will see what the Bears really have Thursday!
  22. Sky have got the contract now so signed up immediately...Bears on Monday and Thursday right away! Great stuff.
  23. Any UK Bears fans know the skinny on coverage here for the Bears? I was all set to order Sky Sports and found out that Sky do not have the contract.... What gives? What is everyone doing?
