  1. competition will be brought in at RB. OLine was disappointing, well duh.
  2. listening right now
  3. doesn't work in the Tampa 2.
  4. Angelo and Lovie better be all over this.
  5. Charles is very intriguing, but it looks like there is a good shot he might run a 4.3 at the combine as he is super fast, and if that happens, he won't make it out of the first, let alone top 20. Allen Patrick showing off how he is a homerun hitter so far tonight with that huge return.

Brady Quinn would be a much more productive QB for Cleveland then Anderson.
  7. BearSox replied to Ed Hochuli 3:16's topic in Bearstalk
maybe in the second round for Baker, but definitely not the first.

If we had an awesome OLine with weapons as good as Edwards and Winslow Jr., I'd think a little bit about Anderson but then realize any half-decent QB would put up good stats with the Browns offense. Plus, Anderson has probably worse decision making skills then Grossman... just say no. However, I see some team giving up a similar package to the one the Falcons got for Schaub.
  9. Charles and Patrick are the two runningbacks I would select to give competition to Benson, excluding all the ones who will be gone most likely come the 2nd round (Mendenhall, McFadden, Stewart, etc.). Both are home run hitters, and are the type of backs we need to compliment Benson and Peterson. Charles, if he is there in the 2nd, would be very tempting. However, I think either the Cowboys with their 2nd 1st rounder would snatch him up, and if not them then the Raiders would probably. Patrick is more of a 3-4 rounder since he is very raw at RB but he is a home run hitter in his own right.
  10. my RB rankings as of now... 01. Darren McFadden*, Arkansas 02. Rashard Mendenhall*, Illinois 03. Jonathan Stewart*, Oregon 04. Felix Jones*, Arkansas 05. James Davis*, Clemson 06. Steve Slaton*, WVU 07. Jamaal Charles*, Texas 08. Chris Johnson, ECU 09. Kevin Smith*, Central Florida 10. Ray Rice*, Rutgers 11. Allen Patrick, Oklahoma 12. Mike Hart, Michigan 13. Andre Brown*, North Carolina St. 14. Tashard Choice, Georgia Tech. 15. Cory Boyd, Sout Carolina 16. Rafael Little, Kentucky 17. Matt Forte, Tulane 18. Dantrell Savage, Oklahoma St. 19. Ryan Torain, ASU 20. Justin Forsett, California * indicates a Junior and so far McFadden and Charles (Charles just declared today) are the only one we know of who will for sure declare. I think Mendenhall and Slaton will declare, as well as Jon Stewart. Davis is still up in the air, but he should probably declare since Spiller will be taking even more of his carries next season. Rice and Smith would both be stupid not to declare. Smith said he is returning but he might rethink that decision since his stock will never get higher. Plus, teams will shy away from him and Rice next season if they go through another season of getting the ball non-stop, kinda like Hart. Felix Jones could go either way, by staying he could raise his draft stock from being a 1st rounder to a top 10 pick. Brown should stay as well.

from what I've heard, he's gotten he's weight up to 240.

I heart Flacco... just a little blurb that I read back before the DI-FCS Championship game: Usually lots of teams will send scouts to watch games, but when the GM goes to watch games, that says something, IMO. I think we will see the Bears and Flaccos name together around the combine and draft A LOT.
  13. BearSox replied to CrackerDog's topic in Bearstalk
Yep, he was originally at Pitt but wanted to start.

How could you put Kansas in the BCS? Missouri deserved to be in there and got ripped the freak off. Damn, I just realized I had Georgia listed twice, lol.

step 1 is complete... Clady has officially declared! http://www.idahostatesman.com/eyepiece/story/252505.html
  16. Mendanhall will be gone somewhere in the 20's. He's the 2nd best eligible runningback in the nation. With the Cards looking to dump Edge, I see them picking either him or Stewart with their pick.

I was praying for a USC vs. Georgia rose bowl... That would have been a great game. I am a big supporter of tradition, but I'm a bigger supporter of great games. So far both of the big games have sucked. And I have a feeling none of the rest will be a whole lot better. Oklahoma vs. WVU, should be a decent game, but WVU vs. Virginia Tech would be a whole lot better, IMO. And how the freak does Kansas make a BCS game? If it was up to me, the bcs bowl games would have looked like this: Rose - Georgia vs. USC Sugar - Illinois vs. Missouri Fiesta - Oklahoma vs. Hawaii (I know it would be a blow out like today, but we all remember last years Fiesta bowl) Orange - WVU vs. Virginia Tech NCG - Ohio St. vs. LSU That would be at least 4 good games right there.

oh yeah, while watching the rose bowl and scouting Baker, he was decent. He lunged a whole lot and as a result wound up on his ass a lot. But at times he showed good technique and was able to get to the next level. Overall, from at least watching this game, Baker isn't worth the 14 overall pick at this moment. But the combine will be huge for him and if tests good, he could jump back up... but I don't see him doing that. A guy that intrigues me however is Martin O'Donnell, LG, for the Illini. 5 star recruit if I recall, he has really gotten better over these past 2 years. He had a pretty good game. I wouldn't mind him on day 2 as a developmental guy.

he has very little pocket presence.

Best lineman for how many more years? 1, 2?
  22. BearSox replied to CrackerDog's topic in Bearstalk
Brennan is garbage, simple. Well, that's a little harsh, but he isn't a top tier QB prospect. His only hope is that he gets drafted into a WCO with a couple years to develop.

no thanks giving a massive contract to a 32-year old guard. My dream: Draft Clady, sign Maurice Williams, re-sign Brown (and draft his future replacement)... LT-Clady, LG-Brown, C-Kreutz, RG-Williams, RT-Tait
  24. BearSox replied to Ed Hochuli 3:16's topic in Bearstalk
I'd be shocked if Boone was 1st round pick, let alone a top 2nd round pick.
  25. BearSox replied to Ed Hochuli 3:16's topic in Bearstalk
Loadholt is a beast but is very raw, he should stay. Boone is meh if he declares or stays.
