  1. I have much more faith in our OL now ;hen at this time last year.  Peters was only here for a week.  Now it looks like we know our five starters and they will of played together a few plays.  Young, inexperienced, but looking like a lot better ceiling going forward.

With Patrick already hurt and Kramer done for the year, they will probably pull projected starters when Fields get pulled. Guys like Borom, Jenkins, and Mustipher may get some extended looks, but I doubt we see Jones, Whitehair, Schoefield and Reiff beyond the first team reps.

I agree they need the work to build the cohesion.

I understand the injury concerns but this OLine needs a lot of time together in the final version.   I think they need to just play Jones-Whitehair-Mustafer (untill Patricks comes back)-Jenkis-Reif or Broom.   At least a half in each of the last two games

  3. "Interesting that SF schooled Pace, the drafted Solomon Thomas instead of Mahomes, Watson, McCaffrey, and Jamal Adams."

Sometimes the schooler gets schooled also.  Such a rich draft to come away with two picks in the first three that seem to be going nowhere.  .

  4. No way to judge the starters... Missing so many.  But I have to say I like watching the 3rd and 4th string guys.  Fighting .  I believe it will be the same as we go along for everyone.

I'm to the point where I say you make a final offer and tell him take or leave it. If he says no then trade him and move on. He's a very good LB (not a great one) and is not worth the headache.

Another note - You can see Eberflus is to the point where he doesn't want to deal with this anymore. I actually feel bad he's the middle man on this. Poles needs to tell the media that all questions about Roquan will be addressed by him until the contract situation is resolved. Eberflus needs to concentrate on the players he has available.

    Peace

The way Poles sounded in his last presser and the way they now have him back in practice I feel like they have given him his best and final offer.  Balls in his court so to say.

  6. We have no choice but to ride out this year and next to see where this is headed.  I can't fault Poles for the things he's done because we have yet to see any product on the field yet.  He does seem to at least put together a serviceable OF line starting with just a few beans before the draft.  We will see and I hope for the best of course.  But I'm to far from the light at the end of the tunnel yet.

It's the hardest thing for a big man to overcome.  He'll have to retrain a lifetime of instinctual body behavior.  It can be done.  To do it he'll need to dedicate his life to it.  Without it he can still be a good player.  With it, the sky is the limit.  Butt down, chest up is harder than it looks when shit hits the fan.

Never played OFline but try doing a kettel ball workout correctly and you will find out what that means.  Stick you ass against a wall and try with just your core.

  8. The Bears win total is 6.5 — over or under?

Under. They’re not better than the Packers, 49ers, Bills, Eagles, Patriots, Cowboys, Dolphins or Vikings. That’s 10 losses right there — and they can’t run the table against the rest of their slate.

OK, so they win maybe one or two of those games but can also lose the same with the others.  I don't expect the over.   One would hope they will be better than last year but they have undergone the leagues biggest turn over of personal then almost every team in the NFL.

The line of..."the Oklahoma State alumnus dropped down boards and was the center of rumors surrounding medical concerns." seems to sum up Ryan Pace's ability to properly assess draft prospects with regards to being injury prone.  Kevin White being another example.

Maybe but K White never had an injury problem in college and if I remember most of his were not muscle or tissue.  Most were broken bones and such?

  10. Is this dejavu.   Last year we had no Idea who our Of line would b at the start of training camp..  When they should be cementing the starting five and getting a whole camp of cohesion they are still trying four rookies a 2nd year 5th and sixth round players and 7th round pick..  And a second year of their 2nd round pick not playing.  Running a bunch of others in different formations.  So they will wait till preseason to even try and set an OF line.  At some point sooner rather than later, pick 5 and some backups and deal with injuries as they happen.  Isn't cohesion on the OF line more important then the parts?  Why is a guy named pig still on the roster let alone getting any reps with any line?  The next two years are going to be nothing more than an audition for 24-25.  After 60 years of Bear fandom I am again pessimistic and broken.  Now they will get a good OF line and make sound like an idiot.  Not last year though.

    My official prediction is 6.

What he said.  And I also don't see this team becoming a a contender going forward in any thing.  They have a ton of players on prove it deals.   And a lot of rookies who are suppose to be difference makers next year.  If thats the  percent of the players they have on this team now I don't think there is anyway they do much more in 23.   Maybe 2024

Poles better not cave to an unproven rookie.  My guess is that he tells Brisker that he doesn't have enough dick to get into the measuring contest.

For just a hundred grand on a bottom feeding team, really?

    4 months old, good dog

My wife and I love Rots.  When we started dating she had a massive Rot called tank.  He could of been in the dictionary under tank..  The gentlest dog and most loving I have ever seen.

Oh I was a mailman and the first time I saw him he was wagging his little tail at the door like I was a long lost friend.  Kinda scared me at first.

I watched "Americas Game", featuring the NYG.  There was a lot of direct commentary with Strahan and Coughlin on the documentary.  Strahan straight up stated that he hated Coughlin and was at a boiling point.  So they had a conversation and a transformation took place in Strahan.  Strahan gives Coughlin a ton of credit for his success on and off the field.  If they didn't have that man to man conversation, they never would have won that Superbowl.  In a nutshell, I really don't see a need for a liaison position.  You have trusted coaches and players that convey the plan and ease tensions.  After that, there's the man to man.  If that doesn't work a decision needs to be made.

And I believe Coughlin also realized that sometimes you need to back off and not be a total hard ass all the time.

I hope not.  They are assembling young talent, which I love.  But, the unknown is what will kill your QB.  Nagy put Simmons and Hambright out there, everyone on the outside knew they were terrible.  I keep hearing comments on here about, "they know what they have him Jenkins" and I want to gouge my eyes out.  We know nothing about him and if he doesn't ascend, that's another weak link that hasn't been accounted for.  Something's amiss...

Truth be told, we know nothing about any of the OL at this point and how they will fit together.  Seems like they are depending on a lot of young players and coaching up.  The phrase I have come to loath.  "Coach them up."   I've waited for that for decades.  When do we get coaches who seem to do that, above just getting them on the field.  If they are always changing the lineup it seems like they have no idea at this time what they have.
