Mahomes put up some crazy stats and crazy out of this world plays....all while having superior talent around him. He had a good Oline as well. That's what happens when a player of his talent is put with great experienced coaching and great talent around him. No one can question Mahomes talent.... he is top tier. It was always unrealistic to expect the type of run he was on to continue every year.  The talent around him will start to decline with age and Salary Cap restraints with paying him 40 mil a year. Brady and Peyton didnt break record every year, only the years they had a good group around them. Mahomes and the Chiefs will get this figured out and cut down on the turnovers.

And he only has two play makers on OF with him this year and not a good running game.  Take Kelcy and #10 and he comes cack to the pack somewhat.  But would take him or a coupe others for the next ten years.  Hope we did get ours this year.

Would love to know what the offers were, if at all. I wouldn’t have moved Arob for less than a 2nd rounder so my guess is no one offered that (if not - just get me the comp pick or tag him and trade him in offseason when he has more value). Mack is probably a better offseason vs in season trade candidate too but I would have thoughts Chiefs would have had interest in Hicks and similar someone would have wanted Quinn.

I don't think anyone would offer a 2nd or even a 3rd or 4th for anyone on this roster let alone Arob.  I think manegment and most fans halve vastly over rated this roster.  We have maybe one great player who is now 30 and fighting injuries every year and a bunch of older players with injury concerns on bad contracts.  Now the real question is did anyone offer anything for anyone on this roster or does Pace still think this is a playoff roster.  We know they had no real money or draft cap. left to sign anyone.

If your concern is the psychological impact of fields getting hit on his future career, consider the psychological impact of being replaced. At least now he can fight through.

Also, Ive seen nothing about Fields' demeanor that indicates he cant handle this.

The team might play better week to week with Dalton, but we pulled the trigger on Fields. We ALL did, and now we have to see that through.

What he said.  They made their bed now they have to lay in it.

We have another issue once Montgomery returns.  Herbert in my eyes has earned the opportunity to split carries or at least close to it.  When watching Herbert run, I see something special.

I agree, but not an issue,  this is Montgomery's team for the rest of this year when he returns and if he does what he has starting next year as well.  D. Williams has now become the 3rd back.  Maybe a trade piece for a low pick.  The only bright piece on offense is RB room.  But not enough to keep this staff.

I agree with others that he doesn't look near as explosive as I expected (given his 40 speed) but I think that is because he is thinking too much out there.

I think Fields speed is a straight line speed.  Not the quickness or fast twitch ability of a Murray or Jackson.

  6. I haven't seen anything from this staff from Pace on down that lets me hope they turn things around and go 9-8 at best and maybe make the playoffs.  The vast majority of games, training camp, how this team his been built the last four years shows to me it's not going to happen.  What talent they have signed is getting old on Def. and the players  on offense are just over rated by this staff..  Take away the running backs and what player on this team is making a difference?

This team is underachieving and the coaches are terrible. Mike Furrey should be fired. The WR room is a mess.

I've watched every Bears game so far this year.  I also watch a few others games in parts on Sundays, Monday and Thursday.  I don't get to see the all 22 to see what receivers are doing during a play but from my eyes I am shocked at how many other teams seem to be able to get their receivers a lot more separation that the Bears ever seem to get.  And when they do catch a pass they always seem to have to be perfect throws.  I know I'm being a little over the top but not by much.  It's like the Bears receivers are going up against HOF corners every week.

I don't know what you saw, but Fields couldn't read a comic book today.  They are going to get him hurt.  Even Romo was begging for Dalton to come in to try to save Fields' confidence.  What a shit show.  He's not ready.  I give Nagy credit for trying to protect him.  I'm starting to wonder if the decision to make Fields starter for the season came from above...

The decision to start Fields for the season may have come from above.  But it still shows those in charge of this team have no idea what their doing from the top on down.  I think Nagy knows he's in over his head and had hoped to keep Fields on the bench as his Ace in the hole.  His wonderful plan.  He's a poor used car salesman.  "Would you buy a car from me."  NO!

Nagy needs to be fired. There is nothing left to do. If you think he hasn't lost this team, I don't know what game you were watching. There was zero anything. The defense made a few nice stops, but those were from one or two guys every time (Smith and DHC). The majority of the team is done. ARob is jogging routes, like all of them. He is never open. Mooney had two balls hit his hands and one went for an INT. You might as well call up Adams. The O-Line needs help. Why in the God's name would you start Simmons and not have someone helping on his side against JPP?

This was against TB's 2nd and 3rd string CBs and our WR's could not get open. Embarrasing.

The defense gets sort of a pass, but even with short fields, you can't give up 5 TDs in a half. Nichols punching a dude? Jackson a no-show again. I saw more out of DHC back there than Jackson, who now has went 23 games without an INT, 26 games without a sack, 2 TFL in last 26 games, and 0 PDs this season. DHC had a PD and I thought Christian did too.

This season was lost before training camp started.  They had no plan for the OF line  except for a couple of rookie tackles.  The  DF backfield was just as poorly planned.  Add a head coach that I still have not seen and evidence that shows he knows what he's doing for three years on offense.  The biggest comment I read about him is he at least he hasn't lost the locker room yet.  F.  The reason a coach loses the locker room is because he's a jerk or doesn't know what he's doing.  IMIO it's just a matter of time.

Would anyone be opposed to elevating Desai to HC? This guy is just so much more credible than Nagy or even Pace. The consensus is the players like him and based on his comments, he holds guys accountable.

    Yes to soon.

Speaking as a devil’s advocate (sorta), if Fields improves and the team wins isn’t that a good thing?  What if then?

Nagy's offense has been a dumpster fire going on four years.  Nothing he does seems to work.  If by chance Fields manages to get a few games going forward why should anyone one give credit to Nagy?  He's had almost four years to show some improvement and it is always going the other way.

  12. I don't know much about scheme and play calling.  But I have a hard time understanding what anyone sees in Nagy as a coach who knows what he's doing in the game prep, play calling. and getting his team prepared.  What offensive player has he ever developed?  A bottom ten off. every year and going down further.  He failed to improve one rookie to an average level QB.  And they are blindly letting him have another shot.  "We have a plan". His plan was to keep Fields on the bench all year so no one would see he's not the guy to coach Fields.  Where is the evidence that shows anything he is doing is working

How do you have a chance when there are plays like this on scoring drives:

Marked as a first down and he didnt even make it back to the LOS.

It's not one play or missed call.  It's a culture of winning or not.  Since Ditka left and I thought he well over stayed his time.  The Bears have not had that hunger, even during Lovie's time.

    But what do I know!!

For me the turning point in the game was the blown call on the neutral zone/offsides on the Packers that resulted in an INT.  This was after a GB 3 and out.  3rd and 7 from the GB 47. That was easy 4 down territory. Fields thinks he has a free play. The Packers get the ball at the 20, which turns that play into a 27 yard punt. The Packers then go 80 yards and score a TD, tie game.

The penalty comparison was 7 for the Bears to 3 against the Packers. 7 - 3. You are not going to win many games with that many calls against you and for the other team. Almost all of those extended GB drives or killed CHI drives. That doesn't even count the numerous no-calls on GB. It's almost impossible to win if you are playing uphill.

The turning pointing of the Bears was the day the Packers traded for Favre and continues with Rogers.  I can't imagine how much time and heartbreak I have spent the last 30 years expecting anything to change.
