Lance Briggs
I hate Rosenhaus. That is an ugly sign when 3 of our front 7 have him as an agent. Colvin already left, I would hate to see Briggs go as well. This team is built for a good 3-5 year window starting this year.

Tommie Harris playing RB?
That will probably be a decoy for another play. Walter not getting one of those in the SB still irks me.

Pretty Interesting Read about being 5-0

Fitzgerald will be out on Monday
The preseason games seem like they are at 50-75% speed. I think Dennis Green knows what type of team this is. They are going to try and pound the ball with Edge, but from what I have seen of them, their O-Line is nothing to write home about. I have a feeling Edge misses Indy a little bit more each week and they probably feel the same way about him.

MVP
The reason Carolina is 3-0 on their last three games is not because of Steve Smith, look who they have played and the scores: Last game: 20-12 Win vs Cleveland Week 4: 21-18 Win vs New Orleans Week 3: 26-24 Win vs Tampa Bay An average margin of victory of just over 4 pts vs those 3 teams. Also, if you look at their first two games they could easily have won Week 2 vs Minnesota losing 16-13. All these close games make me believe that Smith actually is less of an impact than he is made out to be on ESPN.

What would you do?
The reason I ask this is because there are numerous possibilties out there, just like Indy last year. In Week 15, 16, and 17, and the Bears are 13-0, do you go for the undefeated season and keep playing starters, or do you do something else? Indy rested their starters and they looked like crap in the playoffs.

MVP
Yeah definitely too early, but if I had to pick, it would have to be McNabb because without him the Eagles would have 1 win. The Bears would be worse without Grossman, but they would still be winning.

Who will be the last unbeaten team?
Indy will lose at least 2 of those next 5. Denver and NE are both playing pretty good ball right now, and Indy is not as good away from their Dome. Denver's weather looked nasty last night and NE is no better in late October. The Bears just need to stay healthy, that is my only worry. I hope they continue to pull Grossman in the 4th when they have a good lead.

Week 5 Preview Buffalo (2-2) at Chicago (4-0)
- Bears vs. Buffalo Bills 10/8/06 Thread!
If those 7 points are the biggest problem the Bears have, I'll take it.- Ditka vs Irvin
I just love the SNL skits of Irvin and Vick. Everytime I see Irvin all I can think of is: "The drugs were a friends".- 2006 Bendability Index
Thats a pretty cool site. They have more stats here: http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com/Quality_Standings.php The Bears were in the Top 10 in every category, go figure.- Nickname for the Bears Defense
That almost seems better suited for the Blackhawks, but it is pretty catchy as well.- Bears vs. Buffalo Bills 10/8/06 Thread!
This is a huge game. The Bears haven't been 5-0 in a long time. Every game is a statement.- Bears at the Onion
Thats exactly what I thought. Usually the Ozzie Guillen articles are pretty funny, but this one is borderline demented.- Nickname for the Bears Defense
The Bruise Brothers is pretty good. I hope the name turns out to be "The Super Bowl Champion's Defense"- Mark Anderson, 5th round pick, 1st round job
The play of Anderson makes this Defense that much better. To have a guy come in and play at his level as a non-starter is huge. The Bears depth at D-line is awesome.- Bears at the Onion
http://www.theonion.com/content/node/53698 WTF?- SportsNation Poll
http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation...g?event_id=2481 All I could say is wow.- Week 5 Preview Buffalo (2-2) at Chicago (4-0)
I agree 110%. If the Bears can score early and take the Bills out of their running game, our Defense will have ample opportunities to wreak havoc on Losman.- Week 5 Preview Buffalo (2-2) at Chicago (4-0)
Game Info: 12:00 pm Central Sun Oct 8, 2006 TV: CBS TEAM STATS Bears Offense (29.0pts/g, 357.8 Total ypg, 259.8 Pass ypg, 98.0 Rush ypg) vs Buffalo Defense (16.3pts/g, 296.8 Total ypg, 193.8 Pass ypg, 103.0 Rush ypg) Buffalo Offense (17.5pts/g, 295.5 Total ypg, 178.5 Pass ypg, 117.0 Rush ypg) vs Bears Defense (7.3pts/g, 257 Total ypg, 176.3 Pass ypg, 80.8 Rush ypg) Things to look for: The Bears are coming off a huge win vs Seattle, so hopefully they will be up for this game. Buffalo has actually played fairly consistent football for the first 4 weeks. In Week 1 they were up 17-7 on New England at halftime and only lost by 2 pts (a safety) and in Week 3, their other loss, was by only 8 pts. Willis McGahee has been very strong for the Bills running game averaging almost 100 yds per game and 4 yds per rush. JP Losman has actually played pretty well with a 90.6 Passer Rating thru 4 weeks. The problem for the Bills Offense is pass protection, which could mean a field day for Bears pass rushers. Losman has been sacked 11 times in 4 weeks, so there will be numerous opportunities for the Bears to attack. The Bills also have a faily decent receiving corps featuring Lee Evans, Peerless Price, and Josh Reed, which cannot be overlooked. Terrence McGee on Kickoffs returns is another factor the Bears must not overlook. The Bears come off one of their most complete dominating victories in years. They crushed Seattle in every facet of the game going on to a 37-6 victory. One of the biggest factors after a big win like that is the letdown. The Bears need to get up for this game just as they did vs Seattle, because Buffalo is somewhat under-rated in my opinion. The Bears got their running game going last week with Thomas Jones and a little bit of Cedric Benson, and it really looked like it wore down the Seattle Defense late in the game. The Bears Passing game is still in fine sync with Grossman connecting with Moose, Berrian, and Clark at a regular interval. The Bears D is just dominating, there is not much else to say. They had pressure on Seattle's Hasselbeck all day, took away the run and played solid Pass D. Keys to the game: 1. Stopping McGahee 2. Staying motivated after big win 3. Constant QB pressure on Losman 4. Get running game going with Jones & Benson- ESPN Power Rankings - Bears #1!

Payton definitely trumps Jones by a wide margin, but the 06 Bears have a better QB, WRs, TEs, backup QB, backup RB, with a comparable Offensive line. I also believe that the Kicking and Punting is slightly better this year.- More impressive? "O" or "D"
The Offense has been a surprise, but the Defense has been dominant. They have only let up 22 points in 4 games (5.5 per game), and only 1 TD all year. They have not given up a TD in the last 9 quarters of play. The Defense. - Bears vs. Buffalo Bills 10/8/06 Thread!
