  1. This press conference from Emery is out of this world. Guy knows his stuff. Loved his 10 minute answer about the offensive line and how he goes about evaluating the position in the draft and with our own players.
  2. I really like Amendola. Unfortunately we gave Earl Bennett the money to be that stud slot receiver, and he's injured all the time. That, and he's not as good as Amendola. Funny thing is that if Knox weren't so badly injured, he would have been a great compliment to Jeffery and Marshall.
  3. Shanny and McCoy would be my preferred choices because they run zone blocking schemes which we've seen works wonders in the running game (Matt Forte-- Oh my) and Cutler having already been exposed to it in Denver. I also like Greg Roman who's name I wouldn't be surprised to see get brought up before it's all said and done. Bill Obrien would bring in that two TE scheme from the Patriots, and he turned a horrid quarterback from PSU and made him serviceable.
  4. Defensive minded guy? No thanks.
  5. How could they possibly know who the OC is going to be before they even hire a coach?
  6. Gruden was able to do what Dungy was not. He took over a great defensive team and made changes to the offense to make it better, and won a Superbowl the first year. For the people that are looking to hire a proven coach, Gruden should be amongst the top of your list. What gives me pause is what happened afterwards. Gruden got too much power and got too cute with his quarterbacks, thinking he could mold them into All-Stars the way he did with Brett Favre in GB.
  7. One of the most exciting players I've ever witnessed. I was so happy when the Bears drafted him. His failures at WR, and the bad "Hester Package" sort of did him in. Not to mention the loss of speed and ability to return kickoffs and punts. Sometimes, when it goes, you don't ever get it back. He was lucky enough to get it back once.. Twice? Idk. I think he should only have been used in the slot as a WR, and for whatever reason, the Bears thought he was going to be this awesome #1 outside receiver. Didn't work. Maybe things would have been differently had they gotten a real offensive person that could best utilize his skill set.
  8. Hester considering retirement according to Bigg's twitter. Says he was furious over Lovie's firing.. All I can say is SEEYA DEVIN! You would have been gone anyways.
  9. That was my first thought as well. Then I realized that the guy has worked with some pretty awful-mediocre quarterbacks and helped change the offense around them, and did a very admirable job. Tim Tebow comes to mind. Kyle Orton started throwing for 300 yard games with him as coordinator, though McDaniels I believe was responsible for calling plays. He also had a hand in changing Jake Delhomme into a more than serviceable quarterback. Fairly impressive resume. I would agree that he's a risk whenever you have Peyton Manning. Hard to gauge how good the guy actually is. Guess that's why they do interviews.
  10. Jay Glazer ‏@JayGlazer The Bears have already asked for permission to interview Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy. He's a very, very hot name right now Retweeted by Brad Biggs
  11. HALLELUJAH!!! Mike McCoy would be an excellent hire if that's the guy they are going after.
  12. Why does another candidate have to be a clown? I understand the fact that you are trying to build up Reid, but just because someone else might be a viable candidate doesn't make them a clown. Every head coach at some point has to go through the trials of being an assistant or coordinator in some regard before being given the keys to a franchise. That's just how it works. I'm not sure why it would be a huge issue. In fact, I don't think the Bears have ever hired a head coach who actually had previous HC experience before at an NFL level. I don't want Andy Reid coaching this team because I think he has shown some of the very same things we are criticizing Lovie for. The lack of preparation, the lack of understanding game situations, refusing to run the ball with the 2nd best RB in all of football, and just overall dysfunction that leaves you shaking your head at a team that should be better than what they show on the field. I look at the Bears and Eagles and see two teams that have really underachieved. I personally would like to see the Bears move in another direction. Do what they did with Lovie, except this time make sure it's somebody that knows offense.
  13. There's about 12 guys on my coaching wish list, and Andy Reid is not one of them. Don't like going to retread route unless it's for a guy like Holmgren. Maybe even Jon Gruden. Mike McCoy and Greg Roman would top my list as of this moment. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bill Obrien's name pop up a ton, if Lovie gets canned. Part of that Patriot way. I don't know why you wouldn't like targeting a coordinator, seeing as how that's where most new HC's come from.
  14. He also hasn't won a playoff game since 2008, and had a team last year that was bloviating about being a Dream Team that wound up falling apart at the end of the season. It's a "What have you done for me lately" league, and lately, he's been anything but elite.
  15. Elite coach? The man's about to be fired. If he was so elite, you'd think his teams would be a little better than they have been, no?
  16. Started the year 7-1. Absolutely no excuses not to make the playoffs. Nobody to blame but ourselves. They had a cakewalk easy ass schedule to start the season and when the competition came, they laid an egg. And one other thing.. Mike Tice... Has there been any OC who's done less with more talented skill position players than the Bears? The offense was suppose to get better with Marshall, Jeffery, and Forte, and they did the exact opposite. We found out Mike Martz was a much better OC than most people gave him credit for. I put a ton of the blame on Tice, but you also have to remember that Lovie is the moron who gave this man the position in the first place. He has no idea about what offense is in this league, it's about time they got someone who did.

    Thank god

I think you're going to be disappointed because he's probably coming back..
  18. God no. Why would we want a guy that just got fired after yet another year of disappointment? His teams have imploded more times than the Bears have in recent years. I'm not sure what's to like about him being a head coach. He's not very good.
  19. You bet he does. Another year stuck in mediocrity without an offense looks to be on the horizon. I'M SO HAPPY WE WON TODAY.. Can you tell how excited I am?!
  20. Idiot Briggs and whoever else was in on the Stafford hit. You know it's going to get called and you do it anyways. That's an automatic. You can't lower your head into a QB that's sliding. Idiots. Got what they deserved there.
  21. 3rd blown timeout today.. And Kellen Davis with the typical drop on an opportunity for a big play.
  22. Typical Bears. Prevent defense at the end of the half, allowing teams to easily get in position for points. Fail..
  23. That's a bad drop by Jeffery. He has to catch that.
