  1. Tells me they probably don't want Sanzenbacher considering he's not a special teams type of player.
  2. Weems signed a 3 year contract, he'll make the team for sure because of his special teams prowess. That leaves you with Marshall, Jeffery, Bennett, Hester, Weems, Knox (likely out for the season). One more guy out of the list of remaining guys will make the team. I'd say its whoever has the better preaseason, but Sanzenbacher has the edge because he was on the team last year. It's also possible that they only keep 5 receivers and make room to keep Blanchard as the 3rd QB and sign a few of the other guys to the practice squad.
  3. Here's more to the story.. http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/giants/20...mas-hangs-em-up Talk about coming out of left field.. Looks like Sanzenbacher or perhaps that Summers kid might make the team after all.
  4. I wouldn't touch Calvin Johnson this season. The madden curse is very real!

    Sweet Video

We might lead the league in YAC (Yards after Catch) this season with Brandon, Alshon, and Matt making plays with the ball in their hands.
  6. My favorite part about this offense is going to be in the redzone. How in the world are teams going to stop the goal line fades to Alshon AND Marshall, all the while still trying to contain Michael Bush pounding it inside the numbers? I think Brandon is bigger, stronger, faster than Alshon but the rookie may have the edge when it comes to hands. I think Jeffery is going to be one of Cutler's security blankets at times this season where he has just a small window to get it through. Earl is about as good as they come but Jeffery has the makings to be an All Pro one day is he commits to getting better and better each and every season.
  7. I'm pumped for the start of the season. I wish next week would get here already. I'm even anxious to watch the hall of fame game tomorrow just to see some football.
  8. I think Shea may end up replacing Brian when his time here is finished. Otherwise if they keep him at DE, taking a MLB in next years draft is going to become more of a focal point if Urlacher starts to decline at a faster pace with that knee injury.
  9. I could really see Shea going back to LB in a year or two.
  10. He wouldn't be a huge surprise. I guess I was thinking more in terms of a breakout season for him as a Bear's quarterback. The media is skeptical to include Cutler in with the "Elite" tag to his name, but I think a great year for him could put him in that category.
  11. Offense: Cutler- for obvious reasons. I think he puts up over 3500 yards, probably closer to 4,000 and lets say 25 touchdowns or somewhere near that. Evan Rodriguez- I'm sticking to what I said coming into the year, I think this Rodriguez is going to surprise a lot of people with his speed at the TE position. He's not going to be rookie of the year or anything but I think he could end up being a 3rd down converter in this offense and someone who opens up the field with his versatility. Defense: DJ Moore- I think this is the year DJ becomes one of the guys on defense. He's done it in spurts here and there, but I think he can become a regular contributor next season and cause havoc for opposing offenses.
  12. I wonder.. My guess is it's another tier 2 roleplayer that is needed for depth on the oline or dline. No clue who it would be.
  13. I believe it was a 7th rounder. Quite a few Tampa fans are pissed at this trade, calling him a steal if he has his head on straight and stays healthy. He had some weird procedure on his hamstring that's caused him some problems in the past, but he was a former 2nd round pick. Low risk, high reward signing.
  14. This season has a chance to be special. I am pumped just for the first preseason game. I can't wait!
  15. I was just going to say, unless Matt breaks a lot of big gainers this season, I expect more of the same because Michael Bush is likely to be the guy that gets the bulk of the carries on the goal line like Marion Barber from last season. It's not a knock against Forte, it's just that we have a bruiser behind him that's fit to crush through linebackers like a bulldozer when he gets a head of steam.

  17. - Getting rid of Angelo - Trading for Brandon Marshall - Getting rid of Mike Martz
  18. The Colts should be improved from where they were but their defense still blows and their receivers are getting old. We should win by double digits but a lot can happen between now and then if, god forbid, one of our players goes down before we get a chance to see them in action.
  19. They will never host a Super bowl until they put a roof over their building and up the seating capacity by a great deal. It's a shame that we have the smallest stadium in the league.
  20. In other news Justin Tuck's new specially designed helmet. Nobody is going to be grabbing that facemask..
  21. Here are all the reasons for why Jeffery will start. - He's a 2nd round pick who has all the physical tools to be successful at this level - Devin Hester is not a very good WR and we have been witnesses to it for almost 4 years now Devin has never had a 1,000 yard season, he's never caught over 60 balls, and he's never had more than 4 touchdowns in a season. Since he became a full time receiver he's averaged about 44 receptions, 565 yards, 3 TD's a season. Those aren't the numbers of a #1 or a #2 receiver. He is best used as a slot, package receiver that can take advantage of the double teams being thrown at Brandon in certain situations that allows Devin to get out into open space and do what he does best.. make something happen. He's got to learn how to adjust to deep balls and secure the catch once it hits his hands. He may run unbelievable routes, as they say, but it doesn't matter if you can't consistently catch it or you can't improvise while the ball is in the air and the defender is right there with you to make a play. Alshon was brought here to be the #2 next to Brandon. His hands have been noted to be some of the best in this draft, and he has already been used to being the focal point of an offense from college. His adjustment is much easier, coming into this league not having to be "The guy" like some other rookies have been asked to do in the past. He's in a great situation.
  22. Another wasted JA draft pick and a worthless "Martz Project" quarterback that didn't last for more than a season.
  23. I love Peanut, haha. Seems like a good guy.
  24. Just read that article. Pretty much assures us that the Bears are definitely not in any rush to get a long term contract ironed out with Forte. Franchising him until his legs fall off seems to be a logical plan. I believe we can do it up to 3 times, which basically equals out to almost exactly the type of deal Forte wanted in the first place, for guaranteed money.
  25. We hear this same garbage every year and every year we get the same result. We've been down this road. Remember when Lovie Smith went out of his way to tell every Bears beat writer that Devin Hester was a true #1 receiver? I don't get this love fest the Bears have with this guy as a wide receiver. It seems like it's forced. Either that or he's the greatest practice player of all time.
