This play calling on offense is driving me crazy. This defense is going to be shot by the 4th quarter.
-
This is why I'm always so concerned when they don't score on these explosive plays. I have no faith in their ability to finish off drives and having to settle for 3 there instead of 7 might come back to haunt them.
-
Meredith is not the difference between putting up 400 yards passing through the air and struggling to throw for over 150. He's not Julio Jones.
-
Beautiful throw by Trubisky to Cohen. They need to use Cohen more as a WR WITH Jordan Howard in the backfield. Should open things up a bit with his speed like you saw there! Now, they have to finish this drive off with 7 going into halftime.
-
Barkley was throwing to Cam Meredith, Josh Bellamy, Deonte Thompson, and Marquess Wilson towards the end of last year and was lighting it up through the air.
-
EDDIE JACKSON AGAIN!
-
The offense is doing absolutely no favors for the defense. Loggains HAS to open up the playbook and let Trubisky throw. Matt Barkley threw for over 350 yards in multiple games last year with this same WR crew. Stop playing not to lose!

That's a terrible sack taken by Trubisky. You HAVE to get rid of the ball. Now probably out of FG range.
-
What kind of play call was that? Low percentage throw on 3rd down? Really?

The way Fuller has been playing this season, it's pretty obvious that he's in line to receive a big payday from somebody at the end of the year, providing he can maintain this level of play throughout the season. One of the cardinal rules in team building is to not let your young talent go in free agency to let other teams reap the benefits. Pace has already let that happen once with Alshon Jeffery. Although, it is fair to point out that Jeffery didn't want to be in Chicago, although I suspect some of it may have had to do with the rocky relationship he had with Fox. Not sure where Pace fits in with having influence there, but regardless, the same thing applies now to Kyle Fuller. He's another young and talented player that the Bears absolutely cannot let walk in free agency. My concern isn't so much that they would be unwilling to pay him, but that the Bears certainly haven't done themselves any favors by the way they've tried to portray Fuller over the last couple of seasons in the media: which is basically that he's soft and lazy/not serious about football. For a roster already devoid of so much talent, it would be a major setback to let a still young, up and coming CB walk when you have so many needs elsewhere on a roster that you have to figure out how to improve. Is anybody else worried that deja vu will strike again in the off-season, because I sure am. Like Jeffery, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Fuller wants nothing to do with the Bears in the off-season. I don't think not picking up his option was the wrong move, but I'm sure that couldn't have made him feel any better about his situation with the Bears that was already rocky to begin with.

I pondered this question when the injury happened. His injury wasn't something that should have been season ending. As far as the normal recovery timeline for the type of injury he had is roughly 6-8 weeks. It's already been 5 weeks, which means the earliest he'd be able to return would be week 8 of the Saints game, but more likely not until week 10, which is the Packers game. Even if his recovery took a bit longer, there's still 7 weeks of the season to go after that Packers game, which would have been a full 8 weeks since the injury. So, unless he's an incredibly slow healer, or he had some complications that we don't know of, it would be really odd for him not to be able to come back and play this year. Ryan Pace needs to know how good this guy is before deciding on whether to pick up his option at the end of the year. If he can play, he absolutely should play.

This was the best defensive performance the Bears have had under Fangio since he got here.
-
Dowell Loggains continues to be one of the worst play callers I've ever seen.
-
By the way, dumbass Loggais is too much of a moron to realize you could run a simple read option play on that 3rd and 1 and probably pick up the first down.
-
The Bears keep inventing new ways to lose games. Fire everybody.
-
Kyle Fuller is ballin' today. That pick 6 play was allowed to happen because of him. Got one back after the Ravens fluky return TD. Now, put this game away.
-
The Bears are about to ruin another good defensive performance because of a fluke play and an offense that can't get out of their own way.
-
Don't worry, he will be.

Listening to Olin Kreutz on the radio, and he brought up a great point. Jordan Howard averaged 7 ypc last year running out of shotgun formations. To my knowledge, there haven't been many instances, if any, this year where Howard has ran it out of a shotgun formation. Really speaks to the inability of this coaching staff to formulate a gameplan using this information that is available to them. There is no reason in the world why the Bears aren't running more shotgun/read option stuff with Trubisky right now. The Texans have been doing this with Watson to keep him comfortable, and by god, it seems to be working for them..

Trubisky looked fine to me. I'm not worried about the mistake at the end. He'll learn. He just has zero talent to work with, especially if they can't run the ball. If this were Madden, I'd simulate the season already and move onto next year. It's going to get real ugly now, especially as the injuries continue to pile up. Also, Ryan Pace sucks as a pro scout. Outside of Aikeem Hicks, his free agent acquisitions have been horrendous. That, and a continued cycle of bad drafting is keeping the Bears from making progress as a franchise. Of course, a lot of this can be expedited if Trubisky turns himself into a star, but it's going to take another year before we find that out.
-
Oh. The Bears find a new way to lose, via penalty. Bears are most penalized defense in the league on 3rd down, if I'm not mistaken.
-
Harrison Smith is so freakin annoying. He always does this to the Bears.
-
Keenum leaeding MIN to a game ending drive here, running out the clock would be so anti-climactic.
-
Whitehair with another terrible snap. He's really starting to piss me off. Also, in the 4th quarter, and terrible receivers, Trubisky needs to start using his legs more to pick up these 3rd downs, especially if MIN is in man coverage.
