  1. The problem in Philly was that they gave in to his demands and made him the defacto GM. He did nothing to earn that title. I'd like to see him in Tennessee with an actual quarterback that is built for his system. Vick was the only true dual threat QB he had in his tenure as HC, but he was already in the twilight of his career and couldn't stay healthy. That said, I think he'll end up going back to a college team.
  2. I didn't expect them to lose out, so I'm not shocked that they won today. It would really suck, though, if they won next week.
  3. Have to franchise tag him, IMO. Or, I don't know what's allowed in the CBA, but if they were to do a long term incentive-laden deal that protects them in case of injury, that would be ideal. Forte and Cutler basically called him out this week and said he needs to do a better job taking care of his own body after games/practices. This soft-tissue stuff usually becomes an issue when guys aren't doing pre-hab or body maintenance to keep it from becoming a routine occurrence. Furthermore, isn't it weird that this is happening during a contract year? Usually, it's the opposite. A guy always wants to make sure he's out there during game day to maximize his earning potential. Alshon just comes off to me as lazy, which is something scouts were concerned with when he was coming out of the draft. I'd franchise him for one year, and if this stuff continues, I would trade him before next year's deadline, or just flat out let him walk.
  4. Patrick Willis or Navarro Bowman were pretty good playmakers for Fangio's defense in SF. I don't know if there is a singular position on the defense that is any more important than another. You just need quality everywhere, and right now, the Bears have zero quality ILB's on the roster. And I'm not necessarily advocating they need to draft an ILB with the first pick, either. They have way too many needs to be picky about one position. I want them to go with the best available guy. If it were up to me, I'd rather spend my FA money on the offensive line, so that they can focus on drafting those play makers they desperately need on defense.
  5. As John Fox would say, "It's all a problem." I would say though that ILB is their biggest issue right now. They have no starting ILB's. I also think that if they move Kyle Long back to guard, he should be fine. We know Slauson is a quality guard, and I still like what Leno has been able to do this year as well. Faboluje is an interesting prospect.. They have some guys on that O-Line that could still have futures here, and I didn't even mention Grasu. That said, they have to add more talent to that group next year. There is no question about it.
  6. He was the only ILB I can remember the last few games that actually got penetration in the backfield on a few runs today. He's their best ILB already.
  7. Hopefully OAK can beat GB. That would help as well.
  8. Looking forward to Adam updating this after the game
  9. Why did Minnesota decline that penalty?
  10. I'd give Faboluje a shot at RT before the end of this year. He showed flashes in pre-season. Move Long back to RG.
  11. Not too late for Kyle Long to be a bust.
  12. Imagine that, an opening drive TD for the opposing team. I don't have the data, but I guarantee you the Bears lead the league in allowing a TD on the first defensive series. Just awful.
  13. Grasu is freakin awful. Please bench him. Ruined that entire drive.
  14. I was going to say move him to LT, because that should be his more natural position, but I like what I've seen from Leno J.R. I'd move him back to guard and look for a more suitable RT in the offseason.
  15. The Bears will have a new kicker next year. You can almost guarantee that. Hopefully a new punter as well. I can't stand Odonnell and his weak ass leg.
  16. Miller has looked great. The Bears should draft or sign a starting TE next year and continue to use Miller the same way. Bennett has played his last game as a Bear. Fox and Pace have shown that they are willing to get rid of guys that mess with the culture of the team.
  17. So what's the status now? Seems like the Bears caught a break this week with teams below them getting wins. We will at least fall back two spots thanks to the Eagles winning to get them to 6 wins. One of MIA or NY will be moving ahead of the Bears as well after MNF unless there is a tie. NO, STL, JAX are the 4 win teams getting to 5 after this week. OAK is the other 5 win team that could leap ahead of us, but they are currently losing to DEN. Edit: OAK wins! That makes 3 teams the Bears will fall under after this week.
  18. I don't think there will be a single ILB'er from this team that will be here next year.
  19. Another miss by Gould. No idea why they didn't go for it. You knew he wasn't going to make a 50 yarder in the rain.
  20. That play sums up the entire season. Terrible throw by Cousins. Should have been picked. Then, they can't even recover the dumb ass fumble after the dude literally gave the ball away before he was touched.
  21. Almost another pick on a screen pass. Teams know it's coming now. Poor play call on 3rd down.
  22. Long gives up another sack, but could have been avoided if Cutler saw it coming and stepped up.
  23. Why did the Bears trade a 6th rounder for Khari Lee again?
