This is not good. White has not looked very good in pre-season either. If neither of these 1st round picks work out for Pace, he's not going to last very long here. These aren't the kind of things you want to be hearing about the #9 pick in the draft. I appreciate Fangio's honesty, though. Hopefully it doesn't take him that long to get in shape and he can produce, despite the skepticism.

Sounds like the Bears just signed him to a big deal. Biggs is reporting it could be north of 7M/yr. Wow What does this mean for the development of Whitehair? I'm sure they'll be playing him at center now, but that isn't his natural position. As a 2nd round pick, he needs to matter.

Very surprised to see Mariani cut—although I can't say I'm not relieved. There was never any upside with him. I am surprised that they cut both Mariani AND Braverman. That leaves only Eddie Royal as a slot receiver.

Braverman has been dreadful. Don't see how he makes the team. Meredith seems to be a lock to make the team now, IMO. He's starting to look like a legit WR. A few good games in a row for him. Hall and Howard also both played really well and flashed. Howard could be a nice change of pace back for the future. He needs to stay health, though; as does Carey. White finally made a couple plays. Christian Jones was all over the field. It's hard for me to see how he doesn't make the roster at this point. A few more sacks today, along with many other tackles. I think the Bears PUP McPhee and carry 6 OLB's. And yeah, Robbie Gould might be bad. Really started to worry about him last year. He's not been off to a good start in pre-season. I think he's missed at least 3 FG's already.. maybe more.

How many sacks do you think Watt will have against this Bears defense in week 1 if he plays? I'm not so sure he won't get atleast 2-3 if he played at 50%.

The Bears almost have run more plays than they have total yards in the 1st half! 20 yards on 18 plays! Good God almighty.

This is an embarrassment, even for a pre-season game. Much like Game 1. I hate to think what could happen to this staff if they regress in year 2, but the possibility of that happening appears to be even more real than I ever thought before.

I haven't seen Leonard Floyd on the field at all today. He was the 9th pick in the draft..

I continue to be unimpressed with O'Donell as a punter. For somebody who's supposed to have a strong leg, he really struggles to kick it deep.

It would also be nice if Kevin White did.. something...anything. He really hasn't flashed at all this pre-season, which likely means he's not getting open. I understand it's going to take him some time, but he's the #7 overall pick in the draft. He needs to be a major contributor right away.

I hate to say it, but this offense looks like it may be among the bottom 5 worst in the league next year, especially if Long misses time. There is a severe lack of talent with that unit. Outside of Jeffery and Long, there isn't a single person you can point to who is scares you. And I'm seriously done with Ted Larsen. He does a better job fighting with his own teammates than he does blocking his opponents. I think he would be an addition by subtraction if the Bears chose to cut him and sign somebody else. I can't stand him.

I only caught the 1st string teams out there yesterday. Glad to see Floyd and Bullard got in on a sack. Also nice to see Christian Jones getting a couple. Is he playing OLB now? I'm disappointed in Braverman. I guess I should have known better. You have to think he's unlikely to make the team at this point, unless he shows something in these next two games. For whatever reason, the Bears love Mariani—which I don't get—but he's almost certain to make the team. It could be a battle between Eddie Royal and Braverman for the last WR spot on the roster. Jeffery, White, Mariani, Bellamy are most likely already on the final 53. Will they carry 5 or 6 receivers? That is the question. Thompson, Braverman, Royal, and Meredith will be battling it out for one or two spots. I'm interested to see how it shakes out.

I was surprised by how bad Braverman looked. I thought I was watching Marc Mariani for a minute. I didn't see the speed or quickness I saw from his college tape. Looked terrible out there returning kicks.

How do you score 0 points in a pre-season game? A PRE-SEASON game? That's pretty embarrassing. I might have jumped the gun when I thought this team was destined to make the playoffs. With the injuries they've had already, the issues up front and in the defensive secondary, we could be in store for another rough year. I guess it's good they still have 3 pre-season games left. They need all of them.

Can anybody remind me what happened to Cliff Stein? I don't believe he's in charge of contracts anymore. He was always the best. If it's a health related thing, then that makes more sense. The Bears have to be careful, though. There is a big leadership void now with Slauson, Forte, and Rolle all gone. Getting rid of too many of those guys could be counter-productive. Other guys are going to have to step up.

Why didn't they wait until after camp? I get the Rolle cut, but Slauson was their best offensive lineman last year. This must just be an age thing. We had a ton of depth before this release.

Welp, I guess I was right about him not making the team. Just a little late on when it would actually happen Signing Donte Whitner now makes no sense. If you needed somebody to mentor the rookies, then why in the world would you release Antrell Rolle?

Don't be surprised if Antrell Rolle doesn't make the final cut. I never really understood that signing in the first place.

Pretty solid draft from my view of things. I still didn't like trading down so much in the 2nd when Derrick Henry and some other guys were all there. Overall, Pace really seemed to get some great value on all of these picks. Lukewarm on the Floyd pick, although with Elliott, Buckner, and Stanley all off the board, I'm not sure there was really any guy I REALLY liked. We'll see how things shape up this pre-season. I'm excited.
