How long do those guys practice together?? Klein would have quite a bit of time to learn the scheme and mesh with the other guys.

The draft is pretty deep in OL prospects, so if Brian is back and they get a LT in FA I think a stud TE would be the way to go. Trade back to the end of the first and chances are Eifert or Ertz will be there. If they don't get a LT in FA then you gotta go OT in the first. If they don't bring back 54 I'd like to see an LB in the first. If they're both back/filled then they need a OG which probably can be found in the 2nd.

What a difference a game makes, everyone seemed to be on board like a week ago.

If 54 and 69 are brought back and they get a LT in FA I'd be all for a TE in the first. Like you I'm far from an ND fan but the game tape I've watched tells me he's a beast... Use Rodriguez as an H-Back, Eifert as the TE, and use Brody Eldridge or Kyle Adams as your blocking TE. BTW- I had no idea we had Eldridge. If we want a TE strictly for his blocking prowess Brody Eldridge sounds like just the guy. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/historical/563866 He's listed as a TE on the Bears roster....All the more reason to give Spaeth the boot.

Got a huge boner for Ogletree, I'll take him over Manti

Assuming 54 is gone I'd rather have Ogletree in the 1st...Fluker if they think he can play Guard or Cooper in the 2nd....Klien in the 4th...I like the Stoneburner pick in the 5th...

I'll admit I've only seen him play in 1 game but Te'o doesn't excite me. He looked awful in that 1 game. Looking at his game logs he had 3 games where he had 5+ solo tackles last year...Alec Ogletree had 6 and he missed 4 games. Color me unimpressed. In the 1st and 3rd mock I'd rather have Ogletree...2nd and 4th I'd trade down to pick up a 3rd and grab Barrett Jones.

Pat Meyer
Outside of OC and DC I'm indifferent on who he brings in...Assistant OL coach doesn't sound too important, didn't even know lhe position existed.

2013 Cap Hits
Gotcha, thank you both....So if we cut those guys we're lookin at 20-23M to work with....They shouldn't have a problem doing what I said above...Though Bushrod might cost a little more than the 6 mill I have listed, looks like he'll be a pro bowler if San Fran goes to the Super Bowl.

2013 Cap Hits
Here's something I posted on soxtalk that I got no real answers to other than I have no life lol...This is how I understand it.... Bears are said to be $14.5m under cap. Cutting Spaeth and Davis knocks them 4.3 more mill under? So they're at close to 19m...Right? Gerald McCoy is a good comparison for Melton, he's getting 6.5m his first year outta his rookie contract...So lets say 6.5 for Melton. Now we're at 12.5. Joe Thomas is the best tackle in the game and he's making 9 mill. Clady is probably the only guy that approaches that and he won't hit the market....Bushrod is the guy I'm lookin at since he was the LT for the Bears new OL coach. He's probably looking at 6mill tops, maybe even closer to 5. Now we're at roughly 6.5. I want Nick Roach back, he's probably looking at 2-2.5. now 4 mill. I want Louis back as well, he's probably looking at another 2. so we're at 2 million left...oh no... What does cutting Hester do? His 2013 salary is 1.8mill but his cap # is 7.6....Restructuring contracts Peppers, Marshalls, and Tillmans contracts has to save us what a mill each?? Lets say 1.8 mill back for Hester? plus the 2 mill we still have left and they then have roughly 7 mill for the draft and to fill out the roster....is that enough? Am I right? If we are really starting out with 17 under cap you add about 3 mill more to that 7 mill leftover to fill the roster leaving them with 10 mill. You can sign me up for a TE in this case.

2013 Cap Hits
Interesting, I keep hearing we have 14.5m in cap space. If this is right it means we have around 17. (I'm hearing 121M cap) Also, I don't understand the NFL cap...If they release Davis, Spaeth, and Hester do they get the whole 9m?? 26M is a good chunk of change.

OT - Andre Smith
There are LTs to be had I'm sure...smith isn't one of them though. Carimi and Webb will battle it out for RT. Also according to PFF Webb is an average LT. Wouldn't shock me if he had a spot on the line somewhere, I just hope it's not at LT where I want something more than average.

Cavanaugh new QB coach
He also tried to recruit him at NC State and praised him as a QB. If he comes here, which this doesn't have any real legs yet, its because Trestman wants him here and knowing that Trestman is a well respected QB guru I will trust that choice.....It's as simple as that. I'm not calling him a great QB or anything.
-
Senior Game Workouts
Who got signed?
-
Cavanaugh new QB coach
we're talking about this because of the connection he has to Trestman. The reason I'd want him here is because Trestman would have given the ok for it, and if Trestman gives the ok for it then I know he'll utilize him correctly. I know what I'm talking about. In Trestman I Trust.
-
Cavanaugh new QB coach
If Trestman wants to run some pistol and zone read plays would you rather have Jay running them or the big, fast, physical Tim Tebow running them as part of a wild cat package?
-
Cavanaugh new QB coach
If Cutler plays well, which I'm convinced he will if they upgrade the line then the media won't constantly ask him about. Marc Trestman knows Tim Tebow, if Tim Tebow is on this team next year its because Marc wants him here. This wouldn't be Rex Ryan wanting Tim Tebow, this wouldn't be Lovie Smith wanting Tim Tebow, this would be a well respected QB guru wanting Tim Tebow
-
Cavanaugh new QB coach
Youre also forgetting the Cutler doesn't give a F**k about the fans or media hahaha. Like I said in the other thread I'm behind this 100%...ESPN is the one on Tebows nuts and I don't watch ESPN so bring it on.
-
great press conference!
well wen the team was playing well there was even MVP talk for Jay...If he plays well and the team is winning there's not a damn thing the media can say....I think behind a good line, which I pray they have next year, he will shut the media up and no one would be calling for Tebow to start.

Samuri Mike
Ya thats what I was getting at. Emery doesn't seem like the type of guy who will sign him just because he's a former player here. If the interview went great and he's hired, i suspect it's because of just that his interview was great... I'm kinda leaning towards wanting Hoke as DC and Singletary in charge of the LBs.
-
Samuri Mike
Was there any report on how well his interview for the HC position went?
-
Skip Peete
Hmm well you said OL coach or RB coach...those seem to have been filled...unless the Saints guy is gonna be strictly listed as the OC which I can see happening.

So wait, what is Pat Meyer? Or was that not official?
