Could it be health? Hoyer hissed chunks of 2013, 2015 and 2016...

Could be the Glennon move is simply due to a more reliable guy to actually be on the field.

I'm going to imagine it would play out that Glennon is pencilled in as the starter . It would be his job to lose. If the others look much better...like Russell Wilson v Matt Flynn...then they would do similar. Again, I'm only speculating.

I don't think this is about settling on the journeyman backup. It's certainly not about falling in love with him. (Not for me anyhow). Hoyer just made the most sense since he was here last year and had worked with Loggains before. I think the majority agree that a QB needs to be drafted. The question is whomever that is; whether drafted earlier or later, probably won't be ready to start. Thus the discussion of having a veteran in place for the "bridge" to whenever that rookie is ready to play.

Personally I'd like to see 3-4 QB in an open competition for the starting position. Whether it's Glennon at this point, Shaw, Barkley and a draft pick I just want the best that will come from that . Glennon should not be guaranteed the job if he signs.

If he signs for what is being rumored, he undoubtedly will be the starter in OTAs. You also no what the veteran NFL personnel men say"if you have 4 QBs you don't have one. I like the idea of this move that because we have a GM that is putting his butt on the line with this move. When the Bears acquired Cutler Angelo went all in but, he mortgaged some of the future to get him and the team has been reeling every since. At least this move is not doing that!
