September 21, 20205 yr comment_181339 Not sure I would buy into the whole article - but certainly would say it is a positive first two weeks. Mitch has definitely looked better from the eye test, that said, the total score, etc still leaves a lot to be desired. Lets see if he can keep building on this - would be a huge step forward for the franchise if he can turn into a good QB (I'm not even saying great, but good). https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-mitchell-trubiskys-improvement-makes-the-chicago-bears-a-playoff-team Report
September 22, 20205 yr comment_181343 Mitch has improved, Nagy is staying with a running game and we are pretty healthy with all the other people going down. Since I consider the first 4 games as preseason games, I prefer to view the 2 wins as positive and expect them to take another step in the Falcons game. I think we have a better defense than Atlanta's first two opponents so it should be a close game with a few turnovers making the difference in a win for us. I heard their RT is out for a while so that should help the pass rush. Report
September 22, 20205 yr Author comment_181345 The biggest difference to me is the run game and play calling before Mitch's play. To me, he is better than 2019, but that is not saying much. Outside of the 4th quarter against Detroit, he still has been pretty mediocre. According to DVOA, he is 26th in the league, which adjusts for the defenses. If you use QBR, he is 23rd. https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/nfl/qb/2020 So most of the advanced metrics say the same thing, he is below league average and still a bottom 10 QB. However, compared to last year, where he was arguably the worst QB in the league, it is a step in the right direction. Report
