Just need to do a quick recognition of Robert Quinn and his historic sack total.  To think his highest number (19) was achieved during the 2013 (almost 9 years ago!!) season that’s pretty incredible. And while achieving this year’s record he also logged his 100th career sack.  Congratulations Robert.

In 15 games no less, which is crazy.

Not only should he be comeback player of the year, he should at least get a vote or two for DPOY.

18 sacks in 15 games, and the guy he replaced, Floyd, who has been very productive for the Rams, has 20 sacks in 32 games with the Rams over the last 2 seasons. So Quinn could match his sack output of two years in 16 games. Another interesting fact, Floyd had a total of 18.5 sacks for the Bears in 4 seasons and 54 games. Quinn could match/exceed that next week in one season. Truly impressive considering the injuries around him and lack of a secondary (looking at you Vildor, Jackson, etc).

Props to Quinn the dude has balled out all year and brings it every week. On top of that he’s done it without Mack and Hicks for much of the season on a team where the offense rarely does the D any favors. I like how honest and transparent he was about why he didn’t live up to expectations last year and then backed it up on the field. He has been one of the few bright spots on a dumpster fire of a season.

You got it right.  Quinn has done this despite not having the 80's Bears defensive talent alongside him.  I'd put Mack, Roquan, and even Hicks when he's healthy on par with some of those guys but only Roquan has been on the field for much of the year.  Plus with COVID rules he's often had to deal with 2nd and 3rd string players getting called up short notice.  He also didn't benefit from a good offense taking early leads to where he can just focus on chasing QBs.  Plus, like Dent he's playing on one of the worst grass fields in the NFL for half his games.
