Bears sign former 3rd rounder G/C Ricky Stromberg. Sounds like he is often injured, but keep throwing darts.

he was a 3rd round pick in 2023, 4th highest rated center with some project type vibe where he has some talents, and some work he still needs to do.

Mostly he had a knee that kept him out of football for the first half of the season. Poles had him in for a top 30 visit in 2023, so he may have been waiting until his knee was healed to give him a look.

Smart move, not earth shaking, but still a good move.

Oh and I wanted to say also, lost in all the drama and chaos, Bates had a really good day at guard last week. I watched him on almost every snap. He looked better than anything else out there. Which isnt much of a compliment lol

Yeah with Brown coming in, I’m not expecting miracles…but Caleb is just halfway into his rookie year..new oc kind of hits a refresh mid point…but oline is a week away from being healthy and so trend might be favorable there and this firing almost serves as a mini reset for offense which might align and in some crazy way work for almost resetting Caleb in his development (in a good way).

With the train wreak we just experenced, this season still has 8 games left. We eliminated 2 problems so lets see the effect. We still have a good defense, high level weapons and a potenial franchise QB. This is not the time to give up hope. Flus is showing he is a problem with his hires, he will be gone at year's end. Stromberg has an upside if he can avoid injuries. As AZ said, Bates played well for his first action. Now if we can get back our OTs, our OL can be better. Brown could be an upgrade on simple fact he may focus on run game which limits QB mistakes by a rookie. Waldron gave to much responsiblity to Caleb that clearly didnt have good results. Calm the offense down , control the time and let the defense force Love into some mistakes, we may have a shot.
