Blatant Racism at Palin Rally

I truly do not believe McCain, Palin or the ovewhelming majority of Reps are racist. It does only take a few bad eggs to spoil the bunch.

However, in the few instaces of these incidents, I think more of a point could have been stressed to call those comments beyond acceptable. I also don't think Pailn's sharp enough. She appeared to me so into her little speach, that Borat and his gigantic manager could have run past her naked and wrestling, and she wouldn't have noticed.

Sickening. Do the McCain backers here think this sort of thing belongs in our politics? Step up and put yourself on record.

The next time Drunk Bomber tells the truth will be his first. Notice he doesn't address the issue at all. He just responds with a "they did it too". In other words, he condones racism. A fact I believe is why most people voting against Obama are doing so. They've got other "public" reasons they claim but let's face it, NOBODY with any level of intelligence really believes Obama is a terrorist or communist. There isn't any way possible anyone can size up these two gents and make a decision that McCain is better suited to solve the enormous problems in this country better than Obama can. McCain's got no new ideas, no energy, no plans. And he put his campaign first and "Country Second" by picking Palin, Bush in lipstick. See this link for how a strong conservative, Chris Hitchens, sizes her up. He's brutally honest when he says: "a woman who is a religious fanatic and a proud, boastful ignoramus." Other than the woman part, it sounds just like W. Haven't we learned from our 8 year mistake?

The folks telling us to "trust them" said the same thing 8 years ago. I don't know about you but I'm sick of listening to the people who put us in this position acting like they're the experts. They haven't got a clue. F*ck them.

So if someone doesn't vote Obama they're racist? That's a pretty big brush you're painting with. I guess when your talking/typing behind a computer screen it's easy to get away with such ignorant and slanderous comments. Do you ever get off your computer and make it to a Bears game? I'd love to get your take on things face to face some time.

Obama is a socialist. Look what it means dope. Look at all of your posts, all you do is blame everything on other people because you cant hack it in life and its everyone elses problem but your own. Its ridiculous to think youre justified in asking for anybody to have to speak out because of what one person said at a Palin rally on a video on YouTube. Anyway, you hypocrite asshat, Im assuming you went on the record to display your disgust with the blatant racism from Reverend Wright and Father Flager right? That might be a little more of an issue than a random voice heard in the background of a YouTube video. But then again Im sure that kind of racism is ok because its geared at the white devil.

Seriously, get off your ass from watching MTV and quit being a sheep and maybe come up with an idea of your own instead of trying to bring racism into the election just for shits and giggles. Its not McCain/Palins fault youre a loser, hell its not even Bush's fault. Look in a mirror instead of acting like some internet bad ass because you dont have to take accountability for your actions and realize if youre a freak up, its because thats the way you were brought up and its not a political figureheads fault.

Ah, the bottom line for the idiotic. Lose an argument and threaten violence or try to just shout them down. I see this happen on Fox News almost every day. So you want to kick my ass now? LOL

I'm 43. My days of fighting fools like you ended about 8 years ago in my mid-30's.

And no, I didn't say everyone is voting against him because they're racist. It is a big reason, however, and if you deny it, you're blind. Answer the question, should McCain/Palin be addressing this hate at their rallies or should they just let it slide? You realize that if they did, it would lose them votes. Is their acceptance of racism bothersome to you?

These are the questions. Not whether or not you can (or would like to try to) kick my ass.

My opinion is that any politician that stops his speech and says something to the affect "Let me be clear, that kind of talk will not be tolerated by my campaign. XXX is an American citizen and a good person who loves this country. XXX and I may have disagreements on how our country needs to be led in the future, but I will not tolerate his name being disparaged in such a manner. I implore you to cease attacking my opponent in such a manner going forward." would gain a hell of alot of respect from me going forward. This doesn't mean I would vote for the individual but I would at least respect them for doing what was right. Senator McCain attempted to do such but came up a bit short in my opinion. The first time someone yelled "Terrorist" or "Kill him" he should have addressed the issue head on. He waited a week or 2 too long.

Agreed. It really seems odd that they have not done so. It's beyond common-sensical...

I think it has been a huge mistake. This type of statement is not going to stop your base from voting for you and will most likely gain you some undecided voters. By ignoring these actions or giving them lip service you are basically condoning them.

Another example of non-sensical actions - I look back at the Rev Wright flack. Hilary's response was basically I would have left the church and she let the onslaught continue. If, instead, she would have stood up and defended Obama and said our campaign fight will be about real issues I think she may have been able to turn the tide. Not that I supported her - I just thought it was a huge mistake.

It was a huge mistake. That was clear to anyone with a brain then. And what did McCain do? He followed Hillary's plan and just made it more disgusting and more blatant. I guess he thinks she had the right idea on what the American People want to hear about during this campaign... Earth to McCain... SHE LOST!

It really seems that taking the high road doesn't seem to the MO of the moment for many politicians!

Here's some more video from a McCain/Palin rally. Damn, do these people really represent Republicans in America? I sure hope not. But what I see here is really ugly. And McCain is pushing all the right buttons with these folks, feeding their hatred. And then people are surprised when the FBI arrests skinheads planning on wiping out 100 African Americans along with Obama. I'll tell you one thing, no matter how this turns out, I fear for my country. I can't believe people like this exist in the 21st Century.

It's no different now than it was years ago...it's just now we can see all this 24-7 and under the microscope.

I'm a firm believer in the positive. But, let's not forget for every 2 steps forward (having either a minority or a female in the top 2 seats in the Oval Office) there's one step back (yahoo's and bigots...). The net result thankfully is still one step ahead...
