BearSox Posted April 26, 2009 Report Share Posted April 26, 2009 Yeah, Manning probably will never live up to his potential, and is a bit of a disappointment, but he showed himself last year to be a really solid nickle corner and a really good return man. Not what we were expecting from him when we originally draft him, but at least he has produced some and hasn't been a total bust. Also, I think this makes it official that Bullocks will be our FS. I think he can flourish in the cover 2, as he was not made for man to man at all. I like the Afalava pick. Don't forget about Bowman either....the Bears have moved him over to FS also to give him more of an opportunity to play. Right now, we got 12 DB's with a legit shot at making the team, with us carrying 11 at the most. Lets see: Tillman, Vasher, Graham, McBride, Moore, Manning, Payne, Bullocks, Earl, Steltz, Bowman, and Afalava. Right now, I'd say we might IRedshirt Afalava and/or Bowman to make room. I think we drafted Moore mainly just on value and not as a replacement, although he could be in the future. As for Steltz, I think he's a lock to make the team based on his heart, football IQ, and special teams ability. And he's a decent backup. He's got pretty good speed for his size as well.
