Go watch what the saints did with Aldon Smith, they double teamed him on well over half their passing plays. The Bears hardly ever did the same thing. They set those 2 guys up for failure. It's gonna be nice to have an OL coach who knows how to effectively use double teams.

It speaks volumes for how bad our defense played and how bad Campbell was at QB.

Why are we watching this? The Bears plotted to make Webb and Carmi fail? Sometimes in the NFL teams actually need players make one on one blocks. Different schemes use different blocking formations. You cant always double team every player on defense, sometimes you actually have to make a block.

Thank you. If the Bears had to double-team the DEs the entire game, then that's at least 6 linemen (OL + TE) and more likely 7 (OL + TE + TE). To block FOUR people. The 49ers then would have had 7 people to cover the Bears 4 or 3 players. Not a good ratio. Speaking of that ratio, it might have been necessary, because we all know (read below) what happened in the Packer game.

Saints did it and not just with a TE, they locked both Bushrod and Grubbs(LG) or Ryan Stithcomb(an OT that they lined up as a FB or as an extra tackle) on Aldon Smith for the majority of the game. I'm sure we'll be seeing much of the same thing with Kromer being here. I think it's all about how the Saints stretch the field with a plethora of WRs/RBs/TEs, that really limits how many guys the defense can blitz since LBs have to keep an eye on the RB/TE. If they don't cover them then you have a wide open guy for a quick pass.
