This could affect the Minny game that is our first. Addison is in court right now on a DUI charge. IT is his second which is suppose to carry a 3 game suspendtion, if found guilty. Would be a big blow for JJ. Also this gives information that Darrisaw (LT) is not ready to play yet same situation as Braxton. Could be key to winning the first game.

The first two picks of the second round got guaranteed contracts like first rounders. Now, the next guys up want the same. It starts with Seahawks. After that, the Browns with Judkins and we know he has issues. If the dam breaks at the top, the rest will follow either way. I would love to see the Bears be trend setters and get our guys signed to guaranteed incentive based deals before the rest. A creative GM could orchestrate this, especially with having three of the thirty two picks...

Nope and they won't risk injury. I bet the owners are banning together too. Otherwise teams below Seattle might say screw it and pay the guy.

Can they play if they arent signedz? Otherwise, it may be signing the minute camp starts. Poles isnt going to wrech what he built to blew up over a long holdout. Read somewhere all the agents on 2nd round picks that are banning together to force guarrantteed money. Probably BS. I doubt only a couple days at most.

okay thanks, didnt remember the rules.

i with you. of the 30 unsigned 3rd rounders, 3 of them are ours, or 10%. What a massive pain in the ass.

I'm growing weary of the second rounders holding out. I'm fully blaming the Seahawks for holding this process up. We have the most to lose in this situation. Our potential starting LT is being held up. Then, we hear about Luther Burden needing motivation to stay in shape. Lastly, our most explosive DT, when our greatest need is pass rush. Rant over. It's just sucks because these dudes are expected to get major minutes...

If he is removed before TC, he can be active game 1. If not removed, he is out the first 4 games.

That and how many hires (gm/coaching) have they fired early by going the cheap route. Eventually they have to realize they are losing more than money

In low information times everyone is doing stories on favorite of all time, most popular, Bears. Many answers to those but since 2000 who was the most fun to watch. D or O ? I am torn between Devin Hester and Brian Urlacker. You can click on Youtube and they will play for you. Anyone know how to share without getting blacked out?

I think they were finally tired of the losing and she wanted to go out by having the family let go of the control and get smart people here.

He probably won't even see the field until after the first 6 weeks pup list is over. So much for thinking he might be an asset even as a back up
-
Braxton is expected to be on the PUP list to start the season. Glad the Bears decided not to bank on him being healthy and drafted a LT high.
-
Unless I’m mistaken - I think the Bears made those moves when Virginia was alive. I thought she passed after the Ben Johnson hire. So maybe with her nearing the end they felt like they had to swing big!
-
Oh man Im sorry then! I really thought you thought that!

That was meant to be funny. Ranked 20th last year, injured not even playing and we have serious competition. He is an average LT in the league doesnt project to top 10
-
yes! football needs this or it's a joke. 100% I want teams to think "oh crap we have the Bears this week, that's gonna be a physical game" Accountability, aggression, desire and an expectation of greatness have been lacking for decades, and this staff looks very different.

That's because despite the PFF insane ratings, Braxton is not that good. And last year the league showed us that they know he cant stand up to a bull rush. And they picked key downs to use that move on him. And now hes been out of action, out of the weight room, and nursing an injured ankle. I dont see how anyone expects him to play, and especially be ready to be tested int he strength game, when he was lacking before the injury? We spend all this money on the interior of the line, a first round pick at RT, a 2nd round and a 3rd round pick sitting in the wings (Amagadje and Trapilo) at LT not to mention receiving weapons, and a $14M a year head coach to put Caleb Williams in position to grow, and then have Braxton Jones at LT? It just doesnt go with the rest of the aggressive team overhaul. It would be such a glaring difference in quality to the rest of the roster. I mean, not only is Braxton Jones not in the top ten LTs in the league, he's not even the 2nd best OT on his own team. Trapilo who hasnt played an NFL down yet is probably a better choice. Darnell Wright is a better LT. Maybe even Amagadje? Braxton could be 3rd or even 4th! Braxton has given more than ever could have been expected from him. On bad teams, he played LT and only cost a 5th round pick. That's great. It really is. But it's time. And Poles sees this coming too, even last year with Amagadje, and this year with Trapilo. This bruised tomato is a bargain, we can make a nice sauce with it. Cool. But if you want to get Michelin stars, and win a Superbowl, youve got to offer more than just value as a player - youve got to do your part to dominate your opponent, and i dont think anyone thinks Braxton Jones can do that. Trapilo is huge, he moves well, I need to see it under fire at NFL speed and strength, but he has potential to be a difference maker, Jones could never say that.

Does anyone have a Thorn Trench warfare sub? I did see Thuney was the top rated LG in the league. Braxton apprentely didnt make the top 10.

The Jets extended both Wilson and Gardner. Wilson is getting paid as a top 5 WR and Gardner is now the highest paid DB. Gardner is funny, 1 INT in his last 39 games. In comparison, Jaylon Johnson has 6 INTs in his last 2 seasons. Jaylon is now the 13th highest paid CB. Gardner basically makes as much as JJ and Gordon combined. So Wilson and Gardner or Moore, Odunze, Johnson, and Gordon. Total AAV within 2M.

Something worth noting. In year one of Poles, we had the benefit of drafting from the scouting from several teams, while having little money for free agency. Result, decent draft. Secondly, Poles pulled a rabbit out his hat when he swindled Carolina. In that trade, you could easily see that Carolina was gonna be terrible the following year. Result, first pick again. This year, Poles had the benefit of several teams scouting, again. Result, rebuilt OL, DL and what seems to be another solid draft. The slow and steady approach had built depth. We now have proven leaders on both sides of the ball and they come from the trenches! The psychological standpoint of this is huge, because nobody is going disrespect Thuney and Jarrett. We may have also improved at every position on the coaching staff. We already have seen the staff ripping players on the small details, in live practice, not a letter in their locker. They are not being coached to be choirboys. They are being coached to be the predators they were born to be. It's what we've been craving since Ditka. I'm starting to believe that Virginia passing may be a blessing to the franchise. Has there been a time, when she was living, that they spent for a great new coaching staff? We need to embrace this new, post Virginia era. We need to encourage fans, at the games and in public, to keep their spirits high and not be so damn negative when things aren't perfect. That's one of the reasons I stopped going to home games. The fans simply made me sick. The players hear that crap and after awhile, they start letting it creep in. I swear that's why we haven't had a real QB since Mac. It never got to him because he truly had no F's to give since the day he walked in the door. Caleb seems like that type of guy too. Time to execute...

Yes yes and yes. When he walked in , he said it will take 5 yrs to be a consistant winning team. People wanted him gone last year. We are in year 4 and will be a winner this yr and complete for the SB in 26. I think people underestimated how big of a job he had to do wasting his first two yrs to correct major problems. He made lots of mistakes along the way but with a bad coaching staff and a rookie QB we easily could have had a winning record. last year. Of course he was responsible for keeping Flus, but was it worth one for year to get the best young offensive mind in many yrs: to have a chaotic season? The future will anwer that question.. If perfection is always demanded and we have short term falilure to give us a bright future, we are one yr away from nobody talking about that. A yr is not to long to give a bright future to our fans.
