  2. thats smart. so many narratives out there, but the truth isn't THAT hard to see if you watch some film. it isnt rocket science.

If I felt like spending some money I’d just get the college game film and watch alone. I throw all sorts of opinions around but I really don’t feel like I have a solid feel for any of these players until I can see every one of their snaps in at least two full games, ideally four.

Hmm maybe you’re right and he is still in the Bears payroll to help spread mis and dis information

  6. OK, if you guys have to decide that I am just a follower of Phil, then you can think that. Seriously this board is so screwed up its incredible. So many petty little comments. Pathetic. So much hate. Yuck.
  7. I don't disagree with anything you said or Ashkum. No matter who BPA is at 25, I don't think they will take a WR, RB, IOL or TE. They will have a player in a need area that they will say is their guy. I think probably trade back to fill more spots whether starter or rotational. If you look at free agency they got bodies at LT, LB, DT which suggests to me they won't take the any of them as the top pick. IMO They need a starter at S and a better DE to put in the mix. Players that seem to fit DA's defense are Theinaman, TJ Parker, and Keltric Faulk that will be picked high. It could easily be a CB or a stud LBer and if a LT drops. It depends on how their board falls for them. There are some others I like but think they are more 2 nd round picks. I think they fall back and have 3 2 nd round picks and try to get another top 100 pick. It appears the comp pick may still be in play that would be nice.it will be pick 100? Am I wrong on that?
  8. Phil has a lot of good takes and then after discussing the prospects by watching tape, he says we should go get Decker. Tape on Decker in 2025 is awful. He has bad takes too. 90 minutes of tape doesn't compare to watching every snap of a career of a player. Scouts and some pundits do that. I watch many different sources and then form my own opinion. You say you don't follow anyone and are pushing the one source you follow. If you want to say you trust them more so be i but the majority of your opinion comes from them. None of them are perfect but like you I trust some over others. I value Dave Wannsted, Olin kruetz and generally people that were in the business their whole life. They aren't always right but it comes to trust. I like Gabriel you don't, no problem. If we all just watched one source we would probably all agree on everything which would make this discussion board boring. Dane Brugler has the most complete draft guide and I don't agree with all his opinions but that gives me more information to form my own opinion. You have a tendency to say when I give up a pundit as a view that I faithfully follow that person. I can like someone and still not agree with them on all their takes. The only pundit you have mentioned is TTNL and a lot of your opinions is the same as them. That's your choice, I prefer many voices and am more trusting of former football people but I'm not totally committed to anyone. Not saying anyone is right all the time.
  9. Oh I definitely watch their analysis. Im not saying i dont. Im just saying I dont get my opinions from anyone, I just look at the film myself. Sometimes i disagree with Phil, sometimes Shayne disagrees with Phil. But all can say is the free shows are pretty dumb, but the $10 paid content is amazing right this time of year. Its straight film analysis, and it's really enlightening. I'd probably be all in on Zion Young for example if I hadnt seen the TTNL film. And it's not because Phil said, but just what I was able to see myself.
  10. I would have never heard of them if you never encouraged the board to check them out. I like their content but not sure about subscribing since I dont watch much podcasts. Im just keeping it real
  11. speaking for myself, I dont "follow" anyone - I find their film cutups helpful, but I dont place my faith or opinions in anyone or anything other than what my own eyes see. I have never been one to blindly follow. Clearly, I am my own man, and I don't bend no matter how much of the crowd is going the other way. So in the same way, I am not a devotee, or a follower. I just think watching 90 minutes of tape on a player gives you more info than reading what some pundit says.

The two real problems with trying to put together a mock draft of what you think the Bears might actually do are (1) they really seem to be committed to, for the most part, going BPA, and (2) Poles just has guys he falls in love with based on vibes which I think pushes them up their board beyond where they might otherwise be, like Hyppolite last year, Travis Bell, etc. I can think, like TJ Parker is better than Dani Dennis-Sutton (for instance) but if they have calls with those guys or visits and one makes a better impression than the other based on attitude, loving football, preparation, etc., I feel like, for better or worse, that matters to this staff.

I subscribe out of habit to the Bob McGinn Go Long series with the scouts quotes just for the month before the draft, even though he could be making up these quotes at this point.
  15. totally agree. the free shows on YouTube are almost all just them talking badly about other pundits. Almost worthless. Whats amazing is their paid content, the player breakdowns.
  16. I enjoy TTNL but them guys are not always right on everything they discuss. I think they see tape breakdowns that anyone, but some of their FA talk is fantasy talk. They also harp on the same things every show like Swifty, Gabriel, and others. The constant harping is old and wasting my time. I can see why they are watched, they have some of the best insight, and you can tell who follows them by the echos but like everyone else, they are out for clicks too.
  17. Brisker mailed it in almost all season. Looked good in the last game though. Plus he is one concussion from retirement. So I do not blame the Bears for letting him go. I like Stukes and would consider taking him even if they do draft S round 1. Stukes is like the wildcard who could line up at CB, slot, or either S spot.
  18. This is a good good talk on DE and the safety position with Eric Edholm, a long time NFL guy.
  19. Subscribing to The Athletic, I get the Dane Brugler draft guide and that is clearly the most complete draft work out there. I don't remember how but it cost 1 dollar for renewal. Original was like 69 Dollars for the year. It's not the money but I'm not going to sub to someone I dislike listening to no matter if he was a genius or not. It's called personality conflict. My problem is working construction for 55 years, I got to dislike arrogant people. Lots of know it alls in that field. I'd rather work with a jerk than a (I'm smarter than everyone else): type of person. I met a lot of smart people but hate people that talk down to their coworkers.
  20. All I can say, to everyone here, is that the $10/mo Patreon for TTNL is amazing. They break down all the college players we might be interested in. The tape makes it all very clear. You could pay for April only, so a total of $10, and get all the breakdowns theyve done so far and will do before the draft.
  21. I think he's very similar to what Brisker was and they didn't bring him back. If the bears seem him worthy, I'm not going to complain about the pick. My small amount of input is nothing like what the scouting department brings to the table. I think they want a versatile S that has speed. Theinaman and Treydan Stukes are the fits for DA. Stukes is listed as a CB some places and S on others. If they can't get either of them, I think they surprise us with a later pick at S and go DL early.
  22. I wonder what happens if Braxton plays well all year. That would be a nice situation to deal with. Maybe he earns a big contract, we could get a comp pick.
  23. I don't subscribe to any pundits but do The Athletic and Chicago Tribune. I'll look up ( Car Keys). I don't mind Shayne at all. Him and Phil are on CHGO after dark once a week with Greg. I agree more with Phil on takes than Shayne. I just can't listen for a long time to arrogant people. I swear he thinks he's never been wrong on anything. I don't like Phil but I don't call him a moron because I know he's not. Gabriel isn't either .
  24. No doubt Phil is arrogant. But I think he's right a lot too. And I think Gabriel is a moron, but that's just my opinion of course. It's just you used him as "evidence" or a "supporting fact" so I was just saying that evidence didnt hold up in my view. I also not saying you said he is always right or anything like that. It's just you cited him, so I rebutted that? Like if you put a PFF factoid and then i say PFF is random. Same thing? Also, if you get a chance to watch "Cars Keys" on TTNL, he and Shayne talk and he is VERY smart about GM stuff and the cap. And Phil isn't on that show. On his free shows on youtube Phil is basically just being arrogant, but if you pay the $10, and watch his film analysis this time of year, and ignore his personaility, it's the best stuff out there I think. Starting with it isnt just highlights, but the good the bad and the ugly. It's why I dont like Zion Young while most people do. That TTNL tape looked a lot different than the highlight reels do. And I saw him taking plays off, giving half effort and not being a high motor guy. This time of year it's a good $10 to spend. He goes in depth with a lot of the possible guys we could draft, and you can watch an hour of tape, along with excellent analysis about footwork, assignments, routes etc etc for anyone interested, it's excellent.
  25. It's okay to have your opinion. Maybe if you followed him you would change it. One take he got wrong about does not detract from his years of experience. I said he's not always right, you think when I say things that everything is absolute. You ignore my other comments. I watched Phil several times on your recommendation and don't disagree with some of his opinions, it's his arrogance I don't like. The other guy is fine.
  26. On a side note: Ben said Braxton Jones is up to 310 lbs and looks yoked. He's at the facility working his ass off to get stronger. Evidently, he was playing at 290 last year, which is way too light. Look for him to hit camp at around 315. Hopefully, that help with his anchor.
  27. No i dont think you or we were arguing. If you mean the phrase "argument of authority" that means like a logical argument, and its a classic logical mistake, but it doesnt mean like angry arguing or anything like that - we arent. You havent said anything like that in a while, alls well here with me. No fight here. Im just saying i think he's an idiot, so for me, his opinion isnt proof of anything. And I just offered that he said we would keep Fields and trade the Caleb pick. He said he had inside info about that, and clearly, he was lying or being lied to - either way, it it proof that you cant trust those reports from him. But this is just a discussion, Im not mad at you(or anyone).
  28. I dont think he is that far off from 25-40 range. The Bears need a starter at S, so his name is going to associated. He could have transfered but chose to stay at Toledo and knows the NFL will find talent. He's top 10 RAS, impressed at senior bowl, and is similiar to Seahawk rookie Nick Emmanwari. McNeil-Warren would bring that big hit in the box S but can play FS or Nickle. Quinyon Mitchell came out of Toledo, he's pretty good . I dont see Theineman there as much as I want him, so we will be looking at a tier of players that will rank about the same. The Bears brought in FA DTs and DEs, so they might look at locking that open position (safety). I will have many more mocks from now until draft 😆 but I feel safety has strong odds for being the pick.
