I am honestly ok with the picks, but when you consider they came into the draft with 2x 2nd rounders, then traded back and lost value, then traded back up and lost more value. That sequence was not ideal. The other teams got Hill Jr, at 60, Sam Hecht, C at 144, and Will Lee III, CB at 129 for Roush, TE, Muhammad, CB, and Elliott, LB.
  3. Yeah, I think B- or C+ is what it is for 2026.
  4. In the history of the NFL and pro football, this has always been fact. Amazing, all-pro DBs eventually get burned if the DL provides no pressure. On the other hand, average DBs can look great if the DL gives the QB no time at all. Pressure on the QB will always supersede great coverage. Having said that, I really like the Thieneman pick!

Right? I don’t give a damn about pools or RAS or anything that shows extreme athleticism if the player was just average otherwise on the football field. Fencik over Archuletta.

LOL. That dude is stiff as hell. He stands straight up like someone who has lower back issues and needs to stretch out. I see why he wasn’t drafted.

IDK, hope you're right. When they showed him jumping out of the pool, all I could think of was Gilbert and how much of a huge flop he was. I even had a rant on the forum a few days ago, saying one of the things I wanted Poles to avoid was anyone jumping out of a pool. LOL
  9. I’m sure you can find his comments but his overall grade was a B. His biggest concern was we didn’t get an Edge. A concern we all share.
  10. Last years draft was a great success and still can pay more dividends with Frazier and Hyppolite. Until it proves differently this class looks like it added to the roster.

  15. As I was looking for draft stuff, someone posted a Austin Booker video. He missed half the season with an injury but was playing his best ball at the end of the season. He had 4.5 sacks and 2 he didnt get credit for because of QB roughing calls. He is ready to be a 10 sack DE of which we are trying to find in the draft. IMO we have players on the team that will be contributing more this year coming off of injury or just getting better. Jordan Van Der Berg is an exciting prospect that definitely needs some coaching. His strength and quickness is off the charts.

It can not be put any better. An odd draft but as being a winning team now, we specifically filled spots without major additions at the DL , a glaring need. Van Der Berg is going to be a big surprise. IMO
  18. It always amazes me how the scouts find these guys you barely hear of and the tape looks so good. Im trying to find one a little longer but some short ones shows this dude relentlessly tackling players. https://youtube.com/shorts/c900oal73EA?si=Cx3jXfxxXF-6yzTM

Great summary. I hope last years defensive injuries was a fluke and they do perform mid-level with everyone back.

The haul: top 15 talent starting safety Starting center Best blocking TE in the draft and a talent who should be long term TE2 WR4 maybe future WR3 with elite speed CB with the talent to fit this scheme and starting CB2 potential LB who should be good depth with starting potential I think he ends up LB4 for us long term Freak DT DT4 floor to DT1 potential We had a good draft and filled a lot of needs with good players. Just not the draft I expected. This team got better. This is easily the best and deepest offensive roster I’ve seen in a very long time. Might end up being the best Bears offense we’ve ever seen this year or next. Defense is finally getting depth as well. DBs improved across the board. Both starting safeties are better than what we fielded last year. With CB starters returning to health being key but the depth behind them got much better. LBs improved a little bit. Dline will improve slightly but mostly just organically from player’s like Booker and Turner continued ascension. However depth player’s at DT are better than what we had last year. I really like Van den Berg as DT depth. Questions remain at LT of course but I figure Taylor Decker is the emergency call if needed. Overall I feel much better about the roster depth than I did at this time last year.
  21. I agree. Van den Berg needs some good hard coaching. The fact he improved so much in his last two seasons under the former Falcons Dline coach versus the crap coaches at Penn State should give us hope he’ll continue that trajectory.
  22. It shows in some of these players. Roush gym rat loves blocking and special teams. Thieneman clearly is a football addict very focused on improving his game Elliot gym rat won work out award (?) at ASU 3 or 4 semesters. Loves watching film credits it for the reason he can make plays behind the LOS.
