  2. Seen that Rome and Colston are going to workout with TJ Houshmandzadeh this offseason. TJ thinks Colston can be the best TE in football. He was asked if Luther was going too, but he said no he dont know Luther. Rome needs some help, he needs to get those hands to wake up.
  3. Tell us how you feel...🤦🏽 For starters, the Bears greatest desire is to stay in the city of Chicago. But, when the city is billions in debt, including 500 million behind on their payments to Soldier Field, there's a problem. On to Arlington Heights. The first thing they did, after the Bears bought the property, was try to shake the organization down for taxes on a demolition site, because they couldn't fund their school system without it. They attended to tax it as a viable business site. Welcome to the Heights, now bend over. Onto the State Capital. They told the Bears they wouldn't entertain anything until next year. (Isn't this year three of the Arlington purchase?). They didn't actually get caught with their pants down. This was pure negligence by the parties that be, as they new the family wanted to break ground last year. So, where do we blame the McCaskeys? I don't see it. The family is still hoping for Illinois to figure it out. Business minded Indiana sure understands what having the Bears would mean. It took our governor no time in getting a proper bill passed to the benefit the Bears and our state. Screw Illinois. They don't deserve the Bears.
  4. I hope the Bear stay in Illinois. I expect they will land in Arlington Heights after all of this. But if they move to Hammond, the new stadium will be significantly closer to Soldier Field than the Arlington Heights location is. I dont see this at all like the Browns, more like how the Giants and Jets play in New Jersey. But most of all, the threat of Indiana must be real in order to GET to Arlington Heights.

  6. if i'm chicago and the state of illinois and they do this.... i say F'EM do what the cleveland browns did. go where you want to scumbag vampires but you ain't taking the names with you. if illinois can't take the name 'BEARS' away from them then surely take the 'CHICAGO'. give them NOTHING!! so welcome TRIPLE H to the nfl. Halas's Hammond Hemroids eat SHIT you bloodsucking greedy bastard mccaskey family. you have given NOTHING to this franchise or CHICAGO since mugs halas died.

    Rumors

The trade market rumors are heating up. Of course we still have the Maxx Crosby rumors. Now it appears the Giants are willing to trade away Dexter Lawrence and Kayvon Thibodeaux. Neither of these guys have the price tag of Crosby. Among them Dexter Lawrence is the one I’d be most interested in although neither had a particularly good year. Lawrence is still just 29 years old and can be dominant inside both on run D and pass rush. Scanning the news it appears he had an elbow injury that hampered his offseason workouts and that issue carried into the first part of the 2025 season. He’s expensive…cap hits of $27 and $29mil the next two years. We could figure that out and a trade might involve moving DJ Moore, or Kmet - not necessarily to the Giants since they too need cap space.
  8. I agree with both of you that an impact DT is critical, and one is more likely to be found at pick #25 than an impact edge player probably will be. And of course all of this subject to change depending on who we bring in in free agency. Although we could definitely sign a FA DT and draft one in the first round too.
  9. So me and you are agreeing we need a DT or two that can provide stout run defense and collapse the pocket. I love seeing the DT sack the QB, violence.
  10. Yes. It's what DA did with his scheme with the Saints. His defenses are opportunistic and good against the run. The pressure up the middle is also what Lovie predicated his defense on. DA is more aggressive with blitzes and secondary tactics. The whole premise is to get the QB of his spot. That's especially valuable when you play Goff and Love.
  11. Yesterday
  12. It is a great class for those needs and I am with you that the Bears need studs in the middle and I usually mock draft a DT in the first. The reason for the question is that can the Bears win without a premiere rusher? I think we need to first get the DTs solidified just so we can see if Sweat, Booker, and the rest can improve.
  13. I haven't spent a lot of time on EDGE, because we must generate a rush in the middle first. Teams are providing help to the outside knowing the interior guys take 4 seconds to get there. This is a great draft year for DT, LB and S. It's amazing that we could be this tremendously lucky. This should be our first three picks, in respective order...
  14. What type of edge player are you all envisioning for the Bears? Picking at 25 and 57, we will not be picking the cream at the top. There are longer strong guys or small twitchier guys that we might have a chance to take, but lack the trait to be a top 10 selection. The Bears past two DCs prefer the longer guys that can set the edge, but the trade off is instant pressure. For building a championship caliber D, what would you like?
  15. Last week
  16. I would say absolutely worth visiting. But only during the summer. It’s the only reason I’m still here…and I’ve got about 1-2 years to retire again. My wife says we are fortunate to live in a postcard but I take it all for granted. Been here since ‘77 and keep saying I’m gonna leave. Even when I joined the navy the plan was not to return…yet here we are. Lol. If you (or any TalkBears member for that matter) head this way lemme know. I live just a little bit outside Anchorage. I can hook you up with accommodations and might even be able to pull a fishing trip with my neighbor who has a 28 foot boat. He’s always trying to get me to go. He usually leaves like 0300 AM which is usually way too early for me. Anothe option that many like to do is a cruise up through Southeast Alaska. You can start at one end (north or south) and hit all the many communities along the islands there. Lots of awesome scenery and wildlife.
  17. Watch some Caleb Banks film and tell me he's not a Chris Jones clone...

    My guys

Derrick Moore is getting some attention. He has that relentless gene in him.
  19. I just heard someone talk about Anchorage on the radio. They said it was a beautiful place. I've traveled to 35 countries but never thought to visit Alaska. Is it worth visiting?
  20. I am old at 73 and never remembered that history. But immaturity and lack of living in the past, my brain just reached the 20s again. I'm always looking forward but respect the past. Having had season tickets for 2 yrs, I would appreciate a new stadium, the location doesn't really matter anymore. I like modern bathrooms. (The plumber in me).

    My guys

I see all this Lee Hunter hype but McDonald is a rare beast. IMO you take the route run stopper over the guy who will offer a good but not great mix of both. Then you just have to pair him with a good 3tech of which there are several in rounds two or three.
  22. AZ54

    Mock Drafts

I agree. Too big and stiff to be a good DE and not big enough to be a full time DT. I can’t imagine him becoming more nimble if he adds weight.

    Rumors

I was thinking I’d take Budda Baker and a pick but then I saw his $20mil/yr contract.
  24. At one point, I liked Overton but the Indiana game soured me on him. Reminds me of Dexter.
  25. I'm not old. I just know things. 60 is the new 40...🤪😎🤌🏽🤌🏽
