  1. Today
  2. Right now the 2024 Class is trending as the best "top 5" ever. There are groups with a better top QB, or top 2, but as a top 5, this group is trending as the best. Here are the last 3 classes with at least 4 QBs that had 4K Passing Yards in their first 2 seasons. 2022 - Herbert, Burrow, Hurts, and Tua 2018 - Jackson, Allen, Mayfield, and Darnold 2012 - Wilson, Luck, RG3, Tannehill, Foles, and Weeden The 2024 class will have 5, maybe 6 depending on what happens with Penix, and Rattler who already has 2300 yds. Williams, Daniels, and Nix are already there, and Maye needs 463 more to hit 4K.
  3. I wasn't crapping on them. It is just funny when their defense basically gives them the win, regardless of what they do in that game, they did amazing. The 2024 QB Class may go down as the best ever, and it won't be close. Williams, Daniels, Nix already with big numbers in 1.25 years, Maye and Penix coming on too. Rattler is technically a part of the class, losing a lot but playing better than McCarthy. So they could end up with 5-6 "starters" going into Year 3. Williams, Daniels, and Nix in their first 20 games each (60 games) have combined for over 12,000 Passing Yards, 90 TD Passes, and 31 INT.
  4. I think Bo Nix is gritty. Jayden Daniels has perennial pro bowl potential. Drake Maye is proving to be a stud. Caleb Williams can be a supernova if he chooses. Really solid QB class...
  5. yeah and Im npot even saying that we cant beat a top 5 team, but it would require some luck or for them to have a bad game. But we have enough talent now to beat most teams IF we play our best ball. I think this is what this season is for - learning to be consistent. And next year hopefully we will have a pass rush!
  6. I would say I would've included BUF, BAL, LAC, and PHI to go along with DET as the 5 teams before this week, but BAL w/o Lamar is a completely different team, and their defense has never looked worse. LAC w/o Alt scored 10 pts, and have lost their last 2 to NYG and WAS. It still feels like BUF always comes up short in big games. Looking back at their schedule, they may be a little overrated. They beat the bad BAL defense in Week 1, a winless NYJ team in Week 2, a bad MIA team in Week 3, a terrible NO team in Week 4, and lost to their first real competition in a month. So I would still keep PHI and DET in that category. SF and TB are close.
  7. I feel like with all but the top 5 teams in the league, the Bears could beat or lose to anyone. This is a matter of learning consistency - adam you're 100% right, it's drops, metal errors etc. This team is already showing flashes of what it CAN do, now we have to get to where we are doing it consistently. We win or lose on our own at this point, no matter who the opponent is (with the exception of the top 5 teams, who are beatable, but better than us. Next year, with some pass pressure, we should be pretty good.
  8. Bo Nix is gritty, DEN defense holds PHI to 17 pts. Jayden Daniels is elite, WAS defense holds LAC to 10 pts. Drake Maye had his coming-out game, 0 TDs, NE defense holds BUF to 20 pts. I still get a kick out of the narratives.
  9. With BUF losing, there are no undefeated teams. So the Bears are only 1 loss out of being the best team in football right now, and 2 wins from being the worst lol.
  10. They will need to limit the penalties and the drops. If they can do that, they can hang with most teams. The refs also get a say, unfortunately. If they call a fair game, the Bears have a shot.
  11. Yeah, with most of those teams being bad outside of one season of Nagy and one of Trestman, I am sure you can find hundreds of common themes. When you are consistently bad, you will be bad pretty much everywhere. Opening game, before the bye, out of the bye. On the road, short week, MNF, etc. When you are bad, you are bad. I don't know if 2-10 out of a bye is really telling when it also matters who they played out of the bye, at home, on the road, etc.
  12. I saw this in an article on SI.com. A bit concerning, but hopefully we can reverse many of the negative trends this year.
  13. It's definitely time for Monangai to get more touches, and I personally would like to see them bring Brittain Brown up from the practice Squad too - I thought he looked really good in preseason action. There's a lot of buzz around a trade, but I dunno what will happen with that, whether it's really real inside Halas Hall, what theyre thinking. I dont think Swift is very good. I mean hes better than a lot of backs in terms of having a wider skills set, but he doesnt have great vision when he's got the ball, and he doesnt get north/south fast enough to blast through. I saw some stat that we were #1 in the league in yards before the HB is first touched - which says decent things about our line - but we've all also seen the line fail work together to make it happen especially on the left side before Benedet got in there. But Swift has a 3.3 yards per carry, so that somewhat points the finger at him. Also reading that Johnson may tinker with the scheme during the bye, some guess to move to more outside zone blocking scheme and fewer power run schemed plays. All this to say there are a lot of tweaks in terms of players and scheme that could be tried, and using Monanagai more is probably strongly on that menu. And like I said, I'd love to see Brittain Brown get some carries and see how he is in there, and I wouldnt turn my nose up at a guy like Breece Hall from the Jets (assuming his injury this week isnt bad).
  14. I would be shocked if the Bears defense can hold the Commanders under 350 yards of total offense. They gave up over 500 yards last year. The only way they can win, I think, is if they either have another 4 takeaway game, or they hold them to 3 instead of 7 when they get into the redzone—which is what they did last year. The offense has to get back to starting games fast again. Play with a lead. It's time for Caleb Williams to show why he was the #1 pick. It's time to make a statement. I truly hope he's up for the task and we don't have to sit through another blowout with his accuracy continuing to look erratic.
  15. From year to year, the preseason predictions always change. I'm very curious what changes BJ can make in us running the ball and do a better job at stopping the run. I think everyone will be healthy but JJ on defense so that should help. I think Monangai gets more touches.
  16. And now Drake Maye has a career game against the Bills on national tv, because of course he does. Nix has a 4th quarter comeback against the best team in football... This really has been the worst week for the Bears. It's beyond frustrating to see Caleb grow as a quarterback and still make up almost no ground on anybody else in his class. And it's not just that he hasn't made up ground, it's that those other guys are all arguably top 10-12 quarterbacks now with the exception of McCarthy and maybe Penix (for now). It pisses me off. It almost feels like next Monday night is becoming a must win, just to stop the media circus that will certainly ensue if Caleb doesn't play well while his peers have all gotten their statement games out of the way.
  17. It does look like we are gonna be one of those teams that can win or lose any game on our own for the next stretch. We have it in us to win or lose to each of these teams depending entirely on ourselves, and more and more this team is starting to believe.
  18. It is hard to believe Baltimore is 1-4. I believe they were the preseason favorites to win the SB and Lamar the MVP. They were still sitting 4th highest odds before getting destroyed at home by Houston today. Looking at the schedule, the Bears can really shake their odds with a win in Was, then Saints, Ravens, Bengals, and Giants. I expect Lamar back after their bye, so him and Jayden will be the qb tests
  19. Yesterday
  20. The good thing is Daniels didn't look that good vs LAC. The bad news is Croskey-Merritt and the WAS Defense did. I don't know what they did on defense, but they allowed 27, 24, then 34 before shutting the Chargers down with only 10 points. WAS is 3-0 when the hold the opponent to 24 or less, and are 0-2 when they allow 27 or more. CHI is basically the same, they are 2-0 when the opponent scores 24 or less, and 0-2 when they score 27 or more. So there is your script for this game. The team that scores 27 is going to win. I don't like how good WAS is running the ball and how bad CHI is at run defense. The top 3 RBs all average over 5.0 YPC. With McLaurin out the main threat at WR is Deebo.
  21. With all 4 NFC Division leaders at 4-1, the playoff race for the Bears is going to be for one of the 3 WC slots: GB 2-1-1 (Bears have 2 left against them) MIN 3-2 (Bears need to even up the series) SEA 3-2 ----------------------------------------- WAS 3-2 (Bears need to beat them next week) LAR 3-2 DAL 2-2-1 (Bears already beat) ATL 2-2 CHI 2-2 The WAS game is huge because it is a conference game and the Bears are 1-2 in the Conf. A Bears win and they would own H2H tiebreakers with both WAS and DAL, but since DAL tied, they will more than likely not end up with the same record as them. It seems like all 8 of these teams will be "in the hunt" in late December.
  22. Pretty shitty day for the Bears. MIN and WAS both won. Bears can't even win next week and get out of the basement of the NFC. Frustrating.
  23. Week 5 - Williams - BYE Week / Season QBR: 64.8, 927 yards, 8-2 TD-INT Maye - 64.1 QBR - 273 yds. 0 TD, 0 INT, 4 sacks, and 12 rushing yds. 285 Total Yards. Won. / Season QBR: 63.7, 1261 yards, 7-2 TD-INT Penix - BYE Week / Season QBR: 57.5, 918 yards, 3-3 TD-INT Nix - 63.7 QBR - 242 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT, 2 sacks, and 22 rushing yds. 264 Total Yards. Won. / Season QBR: 54.8, 1003 yards, 8-4 TD-INT Daniels - 71.7 QBR - 231 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT, 1 sack, and 39 rushing yds. 270 Total Yards. Won. / Season QBR: 45.4, 664 yards, 4-0 TD-INT McCarthy - Always hurt / Season QBR: 21.5 (Last in NFL), 301 yards, 2-3 TD-INT 2nd Year QBs were 3-0 this week. 7-0 the last two weeks. By virtue of how opponents did today, Williams is now the highest 2nd Year QB for QBR passing Maye by 1.1. Watching the games today, it almost seemed like half the games didn't matter for 3 quarters, then the teams starting playing.
  24. I attempted to do this once before and couldnt find a block action, but ignore works too. Its done, good luck to the rest of the members, I dont have to deal with toxicity anymore. I never have a problem with dumb or stupid but the day he crossed the line calling me a pedophile, not one word from anyone yet the bickering annoys you.
  25. Thank you for your response to this serious issue. I, along with the vast majority of users on this forum, applaud you. When logged in to the site, you can view your username and avatar at the top right-hand side of the screen. If you click on it, a list of options is available, including "Ignored Users." Just type the name of the user you would like to ignore. As you begin to type the user's name, a list of usernames will appear, allowing you to select one for easier reference. Ignoring users with whom you cannot get along has been suggested before, and the suggestion, not the offending user, was ignored. (Well, I guess they did choose to ignore the user making the suggestion.)
  26. Done I will do that but I was curious how you would deal with the same situation? I dont think you would just block that person and not have anything to say.
