Swift drops the ball that hits him in the hands on 3rd Down, then Taylor punts the ball for only 46 yards. How can this guy boot 70 yarders in college and now is kicking 25 yards less? Makes no sense.
-
I would be shocked if Loveland beat out Warren considering Warren leads all TEs in the NFL thru 3 weeks, but Loveland needs to get on the field and get some targets to have a chance to do that.

MIN lost to PIT, now 2-2. WAS lost to ALT, now 2-2, the Bears next opponent out of the bye.

Exactly right on. We also need to consider both teams. Our WR room is stacked with awesome targets for Caleb, all wanting the ball. Rome, DJ, Zacc, Kmet, and now Burden are stepping up. If Warren were on our team, he would not be receiving the same number of targets as he does with Indy. That being said, I wouldn't be at all surprised if by the end of the season, Loveland's stats are better than Warren's.

Bear rookies seem to take longer to show their worth. I was concerned about Odunze, especially after Nabers and Thomas Jrs rookie season, but now he is looking the part. How about Caleb. It is still for Rome and Odunze but they are showing glimpses. -
Don't forget he missed most of the offseason with injury, and the Bears knew about that and still drafted him. Warren seemed like the pick until he wasn't.
-
Looks like no Loveland: Wright, Edwards, and Jarrett were already out. Loveland hasn't been a big part of the offense, but hopefully they will get more out of him as the season goes on, especially for a top 10 pick.

I'm pretty sure I've never seen that in my lifetime.

Thru 3 weeks, the Bears are the best team in the league collectively on 3rd Down. The Ben Johnson and Dennis Allen effect.
-
Deadline is the 30th.

The top 2 most improved QBs thru 3 weeks are Daniel Jones and Caleb Williams. Jones was beyond terrible, so he had much more room to get better. He is playing great and looks like a completely different QB. Of all the QBs in the NFL that played last season, there are only 3 that are better this year than they were last year, which is quite shocking to be honest. The 3rd QB is Rattler but like Jones, he was so bad that just playing average makes him look like the second coming of Dan Marino.
-
Yeah, Crosby will get his pressures and probably a sack, but none of his effort has really ever equated to anything for the team. Since he joined them in 2019, they have a losing record and only one season with a record above .500.

Maxx Crosby is a load but has only 2 sacks and 11 pressures on the year. In the first 3 games the only good OL was the Chargers and they were banged up. I think we can scheme and chip Maxx enough to not have him affect the game. -
I heard Darnell Wright is banged up and might miss the game. They were talking whether they go with the swing OT Benedict or if Trapilo jumps him as next man up.
-
Yeah, it's a mindset thing. You can tell when things start to click for guys. I am sure there will be more bumps in the road, but I think we are on the way up.
-
I don’t think last week wasn’t the biggest challenge for him but I do agree he is getting better each week. He needs to avoid getting beaten early to the inside. The IOL needs to give Caleb room to step up and we can make it through the season. Last week Been said Ozzy was doing much better and that he should see the field soon. I’m guessing likely as the 6th Oline on a play.

They interviewed Caleb yesterday and asked him about winning player of the week. His response, "cool". When asked to expound upon it, "it's Wednesday and we're preparing for the Raiders". I couldn't love that more!

Josh Simmons is looking like the steal of the draft so far. He's huge and athletic. I would talk like to see Braxton put on 15 pounds of good weight in the off season. The extra anchor strength weight will help solve his bull rush problem. Sadly for him, the timing is bad to get a good contract with us. If they see something good, maybe he comes back.
-
One thing for me that is promising is that it didn't look difficult. Caleb and by extension Ben made everything look easy. We have been asking for a scheme that got receivers open, and we are finally seeing it.

This last game and being O NFC player of the week is at least showing signs he could be great. Not there yet.

Wasnt a lot of talk about LT in the last game. That's a good sign when he has been on the radar this year. I looked at the other 2 LTs we could have drafted and compared to Braxton. https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/braxton-jones/60092#seasonStatsWidget https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/aireontae-ersery/129649#seasonStatsWidget https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/josh-simmons/88924#seasonStatsWidget https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/josh-conerly-jr./163291#seasonStatsWidget https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/anthony-belton/143985 These are the LTs drafted between our first round pick and before Ozzy Trapilo. Simmons has did well but the rest are not excelling at LT. Note Belton is playing RT. Whether you like PFF or not, it gives a decent view to compare. As I have said before, Braxton is an average LT in the NFL. We need an upgrade but it could be worst. I remember some people saying we should have drafted Ersery, he has not looked good at all but at least he is playing.

What he really excels at is not making me nervous when we get in the red zone.
