yes we are finally here. nothing is ever perfect, and no team wins it every year, but we are firmly in the mix now, and that should be our goal.

The Bears signed a UDFA Omari Kelly to a 3 yr deal with 1 mil guaranteed . Is this a normal deal for the future practice squad? It seems like they are trying to upgrade the end of the WR room.

Bears Rookie Class
I think Super Bowl has to be the plan here on out. I think we are 2 defensive players away on the line. One DE and DT, that I think can be added in the next draft. Knowing BJ will have a voice, I see a top tier RB too.

all true. I was playing a "top 5" game, so I dunno if the RB room is top 5, but they are pretty good Ill agree. That said I wont be shocked if we draft a true home run hitting HB in the next few years either. But our guys are good, especially as a 1-2 tandem. I also see Monangai ascending like you said. Your point about Caleb taking more chances and throwing a normal number of INTs is well taken too. I do think our passing game will take a step forward, and iIthink Caleb can learn whatever Ben Johnson can teach, which is a lot. But you're right it might look different than it has, too. My expectations now are a Super Bowl victory. Im not saying we are the odds on favorite, Im just saying after decades of building, the time is now. Will it be this year? I dunno about that, but I am "expecting" it (not predicting it) every year now. For example, any year we dont make the playoffs going forward with this coach and QB is a failure. I think theyre earned that respect, and have to live under those expectations too. I suspect CW and BJ are thinking the same anyway.

I can agree with this assessment and will add the RB room will be nothing to write off either. Monagai might take the reins this season or split with Swift and with our line be a top unit. Their success will be if the game slows down for Caleb (it should) and the receivers can make more catches. Not that Caleb was bad, he may have went through progressions quick, and took the sideline option to throw the ball away too often. If he trusts his WRs, he may make some tight throws which could increase his ints.

I;ll say this too: I think the Bears will have a top 5 OL, a top 5 WR room, the best TE room in the league, a top 5 QB, one of the best coaches in the league, and a top 5 Secondary. This roster is filling out, and we are just getting started with it. The LB core could be excellent too. I hope we are OK at LT and we need a pass rusher or two.

Bears Rookie Class
Honestly I like the whole class. We may have drafted them a little early according to "common sense", but if that means you end up with really great players, Im all for it. Dillon Thienemen is going to be a great player. He should hit the ground running, and be a strength on the defense. As long as his tackling is sound. Logan Jones I believe will be an all pro player eventually, maybe even hall of famer, he has greatness all over him. Sam Roush will be an excellent TE2. He's the best blocker in the class, and I predict he has more in the passing game than people realize. (Im not saying anything about Kmet with that, just meaning a TE2 type is a blocker.) Zavion Thomas will be all over the field in roles for Ben Johnson and on ST. 4.28 speed shows up even in the NFL, and he's not a Velus Jones, hes a football player Malik Mohammad will start at one of the 3 CB positions next year, and if needed should be a solid player for us in relief. Keyshaun Elliot is a backup LB and ST player - hes a Jack Sanborn, except we already have the real Jack Sanborn too. Good depth. Jordan VanDenBerg is a real sleeper. I think he will find a role in the rotation, and in time develop into an aggressive and productive player. Great value pick.

Glad they are all signed and only 2 weeks until they report. I'm excited with this class. I think we should call out our picks to click before camp. We know Dillion will start, but after him they have to win time.

Bearswire.usatoday is reporting TE Sam Roush signed his rookie contract today. Great to have that out of the way so the team can concentrate on getting ready for the season without any holdouts.

Bears Rookie Class
I have no clue about this guy but just based on bonuses paid Poles has put together some serious competition for the backup and even practice squad spots on our Oline. I doubt any become a starter but if they somehow get one or two decent future backups out of this that’s a win.

Mason Murphy, OT/OG Auburn. 6-5", 315. Versatile depth piece for future. If he makes the team, chances are Kiran gets cut.

Bears Rookie Class
The Bears signed and UDFA today to a 3 year contract. Miles Murphy, has litteraly played every position on the OL. His first year is the only year with 267,000 guaranteed money. I still find it interesting that they gave him a 3 yr contract. OT?OG?OC?

Bears Rookie Class
I like this draft class a lot. I don’t see any big risk or gamble although many felt that Xavion was. I think his versatility from special teams through RB That’s not to put him as a starter but rather a guy who can contribute in every game in different ways. He won’t be Hester on returns but he’ll be good. He’ll be much better as an offensive player than Hester. I think that is 3rd Rd value. Every pick I feel confident can play up to their draft round status or better. The real cherry on top would be if Jordan van den Berg can develop into a good rotational DT.

There are only so many chips you can gamble with and we will find out if they played them right or not. The Bears only absolute need was S, and that was addressed with a 1st round and FA. Other positions needed upgrades, we will see if FAs and coaching can improve those.

Bears Rookie Class
If that's the case, I would be ecstatic. This years draft did provide situational talent that only teams with good depth can pull off. I love that we got faster and younger, all over the place, in FA and the draft.

Bears Rookie Class
It is the silence before the storm. This team still has deficiencies especially on edge, but I think the guys they added inside will help improve the front overall. The plus is the next draft has some better talent in that department that fit our profile type. If the Bears are pushing super, imagine the future with this young core and the players they can add. The league will steal their staff and copy their process.

I agree with your analysis. I dread this time of year, the month before the players report to put their pads back on to prepare for the season to begin. I truly believe we are going to improve over last year. Should be "Super" ;-)

Bears Rookie Class
The 2026 Bears rookie class could be one of their best as a whole. They added levels of talent to both offense and defense. There is a good chance this class along with some UDFAs contribute early and become playmakers on a team loaded with young talent. Thieneman has elite athleticism and instincts. He will be a playmaker especially paired with Bryant. Add Muhammad who will compete with Stevenson or maybe play NB if Gordon misses time. They are lining him both inside and out in OTAs. Van Den Berg and Elliott might see time in rotations, but have more competition to fight thru to find opportunities, but should find roles. On offense, we have one of the best minds in the league. His choices of players from the 2025 draft seem genius. I think he sees this crops potential as well. Logan Jones may not start, but should become a top tier Center. Sam Rousch, this kid is big, athletic, smart, and driven. He will turn into another fan favorite and become a scary dual with Loveland. Zavion Thomas has special speed that will be used on ST and all over on offense. Ben Johnson will find ways to implement them. It is going to get real exciting in a couple of weeks when camp opens. Attention to Caleb's accuracy, Burden and Odunze stepping up for DJ, Braxton at LT, the re-tooled D-Line, Jalen and Kylers comeback, new Safeties, gives a lot to watch and discuss. It won't be long, cheers my friends!

Kiran hasn’t found a way on the field. Pretty sure that ship has sailed. Trade him to Dallas who is desperate for LT help.

Joking My opinion is Braxton starts the season and when Ozzy is ready, they will compete. If Braxton isnt playing well, Ozzy will probably be replacing a different LT but will be working back into the starter role. Why Braxton: Healthy for a year now Playing for a contract Working with Armsted has to be a positive. I will also say that Theo and believe it or not Kiran can figure in the mix somewhere.

You have a funny habit of whining and being condescending when you claim its just all in fun. I think ill just block you again. If we ever do talk again, try being normal first before you take liberties to "be funny"

Wasn't being nasty and I bet you're the only one that read it that way. I'm playful by nature. I even gave you cheers at the end.
