  2. These comments show how important draft picks are going forward. I think these coaches can develop players so they will draft to replace current positions. There are several needs for immediate help, DL and S, I believe they could address LT early. That's why we need some depth to stay. We don't have any TEs in the pipeline, we need both. I hate to say this but we do have some depth at WR so that might be a place they decide to move on from.

    Bears Free Agents

I expect a TE to be drafted on day 3 to challenge Smythe and maybe one day be good enough to become TE2. I’m looking for the athletic guy that just needs a little more weight and coaching to handle the blocking. You can usually find them in Rd4 or 5.

    Pick #25

I feel like the idea of Dexter playing 3T has run its course. I expect he will show up a little bigger and play Nose. And if we draft a rookie nose with more talent anyway, we only get better. A lot will depend on free agency of course first.
  6. ASHKUM BEAR

    Pick #25

Where do you see Sherman Turner playing going forward? 3T or DE, or DL-Joker? At 6-3, 290 he has quickness to penatrate. Determining his position will help slot this draft priorities. Let him and Dexter play 3Tand draft a 0-T like Kayden McDonald?
  7. Many internet experts are saying no 3rd rd compensation picks. Poles needs to have an emergency discussion with the commissioner because this title GM will come with a pay raise. No matter who makes the final calls, its a promotion. If the commissioner sides with no comp, then that title should not be used or official.
  8. Do you think he wants a vet OC who is not going to tolerate any BS from his QB? Or the young new OC who is more likely to take input from the QB? So far I see them interviewing Declan and the Lions WR coach. now there are always things we don’t know such as if anyone has quietly made clear they are not interested.
  9. Right. He needs to work on a bunch of things, and fixing those will naturally mean a higher completion percentage. He doens need to concentrate ont he percentage, just on everything hes doing already. I agree.
  10. yes, there are a lot of conversations going on that if Ryan makes the final call on draft picks, that Cunningham would be considered a lateral move. Im not saying I know what Ryans role is, I sure dont, but apparently if that is true, then we dont get the picks. Thats the story anyway, Im not saying it will or wont happen. But it's out there being discussed. Like does the GM in Dallas have final say over football decisions? Absolutely not. You know Jerry Jones. And does ownership have some input on players Poles drafts? Sure, but not as much, and he is a GM. And somewhere between those two is a question about Ryan. What if we sent Poles to the Falcons and promoted Cunningham? Id do that! Gimme two 3rds and we will call the whole thing even LOL
  11. I agree, but all because he played better this year than I had expected based on his film. Hes a pretty good TE2. Hes being overpaid, but not by too much. Durham Smythe quietly had a good year too.
  12. I wanted to see how familiar the Bears non-Divisional opponents would be for Caleb and Coach Johnson. I will have to also cross reference Coach Allen as well. However, either the Bears played the opponent in 2025, Williams played them in 2024, or Johnson coached against them in 2023 or 2024, except for NYJ and MIA. As the team improves, especially the consistency on offense, having some previous experience against the defenses should help. This makes me feel a little better about the 2026 season. Atlanta Falcons - Johnson coached against in 2023 Buffalo Bills - Johnson coached against in 2024 New England Patriots - Williams played in 2024 Jacksonville Jaguars - Williams played in 2024, Johnson coached against in 2024 Carolina Panthers - Williams played in 2024, Johnson coached against in 2023 Seattle Seahawks - Williams played in 2024, Johnson coached against in 2024 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Johnson coached against in 2024, Johnson coached against in 2023 (twice) Philadelphia Eagles - played in 2025 New Orleans Saints - played in 2025, Johnson coached against in 2023 New York Jets Miami Dolphins
  13. What loop? If Cunningham goes to the Falcons, we get 3rd rounders. Am I missing something?
  14. A few weeks ago I brought it up that they played together at Boston College and that there was a rumor that Matt might want Poles as his GM. If Poles can block Ian from the job, he should (imo). The Bears cannot let the NFL/Falcons get away from acquiring our talent without compensation by using a loop.
  15. Just saw Cunningham is interviewing...
  16. He is one of the team leaders, that probably figures in when deciding if someone stays. I think one more year here probably. If traded a 5th round isn't worth losing the depth. Injuries happen every year especially at TE. Not sure there's a replacement on the team now. Carlson and Cahilic aren't ready for anything yet.
  17. I think year 3 is the sweet spot on progess in a new offensive scheme but next year should have big numbers.
  18. Yesterday
  19. Caleb has a lot more to work on than completion percentage. That will naturally raise it.
  20. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  21. fascinating, and more indications that the Caleb Williams we are projecting isnt just hope.
  22. I agree with all of this. Id only add that if Kmet somehow quit football, we would have decent options at decent prices to replace him. Not perfect replacements, but decent ones. Durham Smythe has proved a lot this year too, for example. But Kmet already knows the playbook and has proven certain things to Johnson, so I can see us choosing him from our options, but if a really good trade offer came up, its not as if we couldnt fill the hole?
  23. I did that once with a small knife on my keychain coming back from Roatan island and they pulled my luggage off the plane and did a cavity search. I was amazed it was two pretty latinas doing the search. I completely cooperated.
  24. He still has a lot to work to do on his own in terms of accuracy, touch, etc, but just looking at the totality of it, there has never been even a 11% gap between 2 QBs in the NFL, let alone a 16% gap for the Comp Diff (+9.1 and -6.9).
  25. If Lamar has major input in the OC hire, you think he wants a OC that never called plays before? I doubt it. You would have to have an amazing interview to sell that.
  26. Blank was asked that direct question in an interview, ( oversees) , it's Ryan's job to hire the GM. I'm just repeating what I read, why would anyone take that job if all he's going to do is get coffee for Ryan. Didn't they room together in college or something like that? They probably have a close relationship. Isn't that the same job Warren has here? He doesn't make roster decisions here , Poles does.
  27. I read that too. Using his low comp rate doesn't tell the whole story, it's more complicated than that.
  28. I agree he's is playing below his pay level that's why I think he will take a restructured deal but that doesn't mean doesn't have value. BJ plays 2 TE scheme more than almost any other team. Who's the second TE, a rookie? I doubt it.
