I tackle, one sack, not sure how many pressures he had but played limited snaps because of back issues. It seems to always be problems when its the back. Long term I dont think it works out for the Packers.
-
For the highest paid non-QB, I didn't think he looked that good. Compare that game to what Mack looked like in 2018. Parsons had a garbage time sack on a drive that the Lions scored a TD on, so it was pretty non-consequential.
-
Hutchinson is never going to be the same player. It was crazy talk about him coming back for the SB if the Lions got that far and even in the offseason videos, he looked slower. Both sides of the ball didn't look particularly well, but they did lose both coordinators. Bears will get them next week on a short week in Detroit. So that is a double negative for the Bears, especially with all the current injuries. I just hope that same DET team shows up next week.

Hutchinson is simply not the same player. He has no lateral quickness. It will come back to him but it’s going to take time. Detroits IOL was not on par with last year overall. Lots of new parts there so it might just take some time but I do wonder if Ben Johnson’s obsession with details is the real missing piece. I’ll find out tomorrow.

.Lions definitely doesnt look like the same team without BJ and Glenn.

Some interesting Week 1 games. Both the Dolphins and Panthers looked terrible. One of those HCs will be the first one fired. Currently, only 2 RBs have hit 100 yards rushing. this week. Etienne had 143 but one rush accounted for 71 yards lol. Breece Hall was the other with 107. Only 2 Passers with over 300 yards so far, Geno Smith had 362 and Herbert had 318 on Friday. Looking at some of the comparable QBs: Penix had 298 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 sack, and 21 rushing yards. 319 Total Yards. Lost. Maye had 287 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 4 sacks, and 11 rushing yards. 298 Total Yards. Lost. Daniels had 233 passing yards, 1 TD, 3 sacks, and 68 rushing yards. 301 Total Yards. Won. Fields had 218 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 sack, and 48 rushing yards. 266 Total Yards. Lost. Still playing: Goff, near the end of the 3rd Quarter, has 152 passing yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, 1 sack. Lions' offense with only 6 pts, look completely different without Ben Johnson. Nix, near the end of the 3rd Quarter, has 131 passing yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs, 1 sack, and 13 rushing yards with 1 fumble lost. Currently winning 13-12. Stroud, near the end of the 3rd Quarter, has 122 passing yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, 3 sacks, and 26 rushing yards.

Micah causing chaos...
-
This year is all that matters.
-
There is no doubt he is the best QB out of that class so far but after 3 yrs we need to look back and see what happens. Footnote: Justin Fields is playing well.

Watching first couple series of WAS vs NYG, and Jayden Daniel's is still doing it to start year 2. He may not have a body for durability, but he makes the throws and moves the ball. NYG have one of the best Defensive fronts too. Playing against him in FF today too, so was hoping he was a fluke last year...not looking like it.

To double down on that (Braxton) , BJ said he looked good in practice with consistency and then ( KC game), he said he got lazy in his technique.
-
I like that BJ has some ammo in his holster. He can look at Caleb anytime and say, "your backup outworks you". Whether it's true or not, to Caleb there has to be some believability. As to Braxton, the book "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People", it says that if you do the same thing for 21 days it becomes a habit. Maybe they are trying to keep Braxton on edge in an attempt to bring consistent technique. To me, he seems lazy. This happens to big guys. When trying to maintain weight, you gotta eat bigger meals and sleep more. Comfort also breeds stagnation.
-
Braxton is our LT for now. Is he a good LT? Very average by NFL standards. BJ looks at players and want perfection. Can Braxton look better with better play calling? Can Thuney playing next to him make him look better? Can Caleb getting the ball out quicker help Braxton? We get to see in real time if any of this applies.

100 percent and I believe Keenum got really rave reviews for his work with Stroud as a backup too. Some back ups aren’t right fit some are. I think Bagent works hard but as a back up he also wants to be the dude given where he is at in his career - keenum just wants to be close to the game and if he’s put in and gets a shot be there to serve as the bridge guy and maybe win a game in sake the qb has to go down.
-
I've been critical of the need to keep Case Keenum on the 53 as I don't really see the need for that. In light of all this chatter about Caleb's need to learn how to be a professional QB maybe that is the need. Poles obviously saw what was going on last year and there's no doubt he consulted with Ben Johnson about that. They knew what they wanted and recruited Keenum out of retirement so it wasn't just finding another QB to compete for the backup role. I know everyone talks about how having a vet presence can help Caleb but I'm saying that was the sole reason he was hired and put on the 53.

This prediction of the record , game by game seems realistic to me. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/chicago-bears-news/97583/predicting-every-chicago-bears-game-in-2025

Regarding Caleb - I said it a couple months back - there are plenty of red flags on him just as there were on the coaching staff. He has to learn from what he did wrong and I legitimately think he bought into his hype too much and did not take it as serious as he should of and also had a bit of an entitled attitude and perspective and that played out and there were enough rumblings of that. He got his ass kicked last year - in many ways. Now I hated that he spent any time wasting it on the quotes that drove the Flus hit piece earlier in the offseason cause it still shows a total lack of maturity. With that said - I think the whole culture has changed and hopefully he had the rude awakening needed and is now all systems go with a staff that is going to really push and some added vet presence in the qb room to help. We won’t know in first 4 weeks - but as season goes on, theexpectation has to be we are seeing some above average and at times high end play from that position.

Ty Dunn wrote a 3 part article about 2024 Bears and it throws Caleb under the bus. I read where one coach that is quoted said this was not suppose to be public. The writer lied to get quotes. It makes Celeb look very bad. Throws Poles under the bus also. I have only seen some quotes and the article comes out Monday. My opinion is some things are true and some things are opinion. He made this a sensational article to get clicks. We have Ben Johnson now and everything is going well, I could care less what is true and not true. BJ came here because of Caleb and its all a new year , the sh+t show left last year with the coaches.
