  2. If this offensive is going to be high level, there will be more than enough reps to go around for everyone.

    Battle at LT

So Braxton started, then Theo took over. Later in the game Kiran played LT. Kiran has been getting badmouthed but the truth is , he has been injured. For what highlights I could see, they all played well. I will refer to Mongo and PHX for a more detailed opinion.
  4. At least no one can complain about a lack of offense anymore. -530 total yards -357 total passing yards -173 total rushing yards -6.5 yards per play -31 1st downs -8/15 3rd down -82 total plays -38 points Yeah....Ben Johnson is legit.
  5. Absolutely, doing what he was suppose to do. 6-10 detracts from how well he actually did. He had two throw away's, and Rome dropped one. The scheme will get players open and a better OL keeps Caleb on time and in rhythm. That works against better talented players also.
  6. If the score was the other way around the media would already be putting the Bills in the Super Bowl. We’re not that naive here on this board but that game was a clear sign that this coaching staff is different. So was Caleb. I might have been the only Bears fan that celebrates when Caleb threw the ball in the dirt after Buffalo blew up the RB screen play. It was the first time I can recall him understanding don’t take the negative play and move on to the next play.
  7. Like Adam mentioned, if the QB is on time and out in under 2.4 seconds, the pass rush will not get there in time. The key will be the IOL, if they keep the pocket clean , Caleb will excel. Its just 1-2-3, hit the open receiver or throw it away. I can see less than 40 sacks this year if the OL holds up. I dont know who this is (John Middlekrauff) but he's not a Bear pundit , he breaks it down real simple.\
  8. Yup. We are going have to keep it that way 80% plus to activate the deep shots and slow crossers. Play action needs to be great...
  9. I was concerned that Caleb not playing in week one was a sign that he was behind schedule. I saw no evidence of that yesterday. The D was solid but special teams wasn’t. All three phases need to be there to maximize wins.
  10. Today
  11. Yeah, the media circus finally picked up on it. The ball was coming out quick and he was decisive. It doesn't matter if the defense has the best pass rushers, they aren't getting there in 2 seconds unless unblocked.
  12. Sunday the 31st works good for me since I would not have to worry about missing it because work goes late. So unless there are any objections, I will set the 31st at 7pm Central for our draft on Wednesday (20th). If you have a conflict, and need a different date/time, please let me know before Wed.
  13. Booker with another big sack. He might be our much needed pass rusher
  14. They talked about the starters playing one series in the Friday game, according to Brad Biggs. We will see if that happens.
  15. Like you said, organized, no penalties, out in time. The biggest take for me was Caleb was 1-2-3 and out came the ball, he knew where he was suppose to go , players were open. He averaged 2.1 to 2.7 seconds on every pass play. The OTs took their blocks to the outside, as long as Caleb steps up in the pocket, he will have plenty of time.
  16. Ok, I have been tempering my excitement and it is only the preseason but I always felt that there are things you can take away from the preseason even if it is not game outcome related. The operation as a whole looks crisper, tighter, and it feels like everyone understands what is going on. Communication looked good, no delay of game penalties or wasted time outs. The buy in is real. Burdens blocks at the goal line were impressive. If the players have confidence and trust the process, there is another level that can be achieved, something we haven't seen since the Lovie era. Now this might not equate to wins right away but I feel like once they get on a roll I don't see them getting blown out. They will be in every game.
  17. I will have to look at snap counts but not all Bears starters played (Thuney, Swift, Johnson, Gordon), plus the Bears started their 4th string RB, so it want completely mismatched compared to the Bills. Also, it was weird to see Mitch come in for clean up duty as the 3rd string QB. I kind of felt sorry for him tbh. With the way rotations work on the DLine, non starters get a lot of snaps anyway. The next game will be the biggest disparity in play as most teams won't risk injury that close to the regular season.
  18. Jahns mentioned that Doyle called plays for the offense and Harris called them for the defense in the 2nd half. That is impressive because there wasnt a drop off or any string of pre snap or penalties. Also, OZ basically gives the Bears 4x starting WRs. If you add Loveland to a 5 wide package, 3 of those guys are a straight up mismatch on every play.
  19. I think both TEs will be schemed open a great deal this year. Easiest quick passes you can get are in the center of the field.
  20. That first big pass to Kmet, awesome! He doesnt get credit but can carry the team if needed. Commander game 3 years ago was all him and the swing for the fences is my favorite Bear TD celebration
  21. Burden looks like a dude - loved seeing how physical he blocked too!
