So the Packers gave up: - 2025 1st Rd Pick - 2026 1st Rd Pick - Kenny Clark - Rashan Gary For: - Micah Parsons (who is now coming off an ACL tear) and a 2027 4th Rd Pick

He played very solidly and is a DA guy. Also, a 2-yr deal for a max of $10M has minimal impact on the cap.

Demarco Jackson has been resigned. 7.5 mil with incentives up to 10.5 mil. 2 years. I assume they bring in a rookie to compete. May not be a top pick.

Not sure they are going to use pick 60 on a situational player that may never be more than that. Great off the ball but the draft profiles said he can't get off blocks. Booker is 6' 5 " and close to 260 lbs now . Romello don't have the frame to add weight, 250 would probably be the best he can do.. He will be 25 by training camp and has 32 1/4 " arms. Booker has 33 3/4 arms. Booker was projected as a situational player that may never be full time. Not sure they want 2 of those. He could be outstanding but more as a 3-4 fit. Most project to early 2nd round .

Other than signing our own free agents, I don't see a lot of movement until the second wave kicks in. That's going to make some fans unhappy.

After last year with the big spending in free agency, they just don't have the money anymore. They will open up money to do what they need to in restructures. They will sign 2nd tier players. But most teams, including this years Bears, have tried to buy that pass rusher. Rumor was Poles offered 2 firsts but Ravens were better slots. I don't think the Bears are ready to add that piece yet when they need DTs, LBs, and S's to just line up a starter.

Romello would be a situational pass rusher, not an everydown DE to start his career. Hes about 10lb lighter than Austin Booker or even Micah Parsons. The Bears have Sweat, Dayo, and Turner for size and might look for more speed from the edge. You could make trades, I opted not to do any and mentioned that.

Keep track of the name Jamaree Salyer as a possible LT signing for the bears. He will come cheap and can play 4 positions on the OL as the temporary LT until Ozzy comes back. He's PFF grades aren't good but he at least can fill a need as a depth piece. I only bring his name up because Poles is always full of surprises.

Adam Hoge was sighting a story about the edge rushers with the highest paid salaries currently, maybe top 10, has never won a Superbowl. He used Parsons as the example, 16.7% of the salary cap. Crosby is getting 12.7% I suspect the point was , it's not worth the investment. Make your own conclusion.

We finally signed another player, Daniel Hardy is coming back on a 2 yr deal.

I saw where GB extended their center at 11 mil a year. He was 40th out of 40 in pass blocking grade. 5 penalties and 2 sacks with 27 hurries in 887 snaps. Poles got a great deal with Bradbury at 5.7 mil.

A lot of good names but Romello doesn't fit DAs size for DE. At 60 there should have been a better scheme fit. We never know how the bear's draft board aligns with the consensus, but at BPA, AJ could get taken there. In that simulator can you do trades? PFSN allows you to do that. I expect Poles to trade a couple of times during the draft. History tells us that.

Here goes my day before FA mock draft. I did not make any trades, but bet Poles makes 1 to recoup a 5th rounder. 1- Kayden McDonald 1T Ohio St- we would be lucky if he is available at 25. He would anchor the 1T and be a major boost for the run D. 2a. AJ Haulcy S LSU- he is a risk with his attitude, but is a ball hawk and tackling machine. 4.52 isn't the fastest, but has strong production at every level hes played. Replaces Brisker 2b. Romello Heights DE Texas Tech- has elite speed from the edge on passing situations and gives strong effort every down. 3. Jake Slaughter C Florida debated taking Austin Barber, FL left tackle or Slaughter. This is a developmental prospect that has the tools to be a great C and with Bradberry being a short term plug, the Bears go for a longterm homerun. 4. Zane Durant 3T Penn St- smaller with elite lateral movement that can attack the gap. Played against elite big 10 talent and produced. 7a. Eli Heidenrech WR Navy-a hybrid RB/WR that is a dual threat that BJ can be creative with. 7b. Max Bredeson FB/TE Michigan - another hybrid, H-back from Michigan that is better known for his blocking. BJ can move him from FB to TE to confuse defenses.

The Packers just signed a bad backup Center for $11M a year, making him one of the highest paid Centers in the league. Rhyan led the NFL in QB hits allowed for Centers, and was top 10 in penalties. So again, Bradbury is a steal.

I think with all the oline retiring too it makes it hard to stay. Over the last 2 years they lost 3 out of 4, does he want to be the last man standing.

That’s because it was weak. The new OC was demoted and removed from play calling which was taken over by the HC. I’m not the best at sorting out offensive play calling but there were a couple Detroit games where I couldn’t figure out what Campbell was trying to do on offense. Reminded me of Nagy where he was just calling something for the sake of calling it not because of anything he saw from the D that would give the play a chance to succeed. There is still a lot of talent there on offense and a good NFL QB is going to keep things “productive”. Since I don’t follow them closely I scanned some stats from last year and they fell back to middle of the pack in rushing while we improved to top 5. Passing they were still top 5. Regardless of where he ends up, Decker leaving them at least puts them in a similar spot we ended up in with Dalman retiring but at a more critical position. If he just wants a Superbowl ring, he must not believe in his current coach or teammates. I have a hard time digesting that. To cut bait after year one of losing your coordinator sounds weak as hell to me.

Yeah we don’t need 18mil for 5 sacks. I’d Decker wants and can get $25mil I’m out on him too. I also don’t trust the NFL rumor mill because media people are very simple minded and assume because he was making. 21 with Detroit and refused to negotiate that automatically means he wants more. We simply don’t know. He might just want a Super Bowl ring.

It’s more than just that. It’s finding a guy who knows the calls both in pass pro and the run game because Ben likes to mix it up. Decker is ready week one. The first four weeks of last year were bad offensively. I’d love to hit the ground running right where we left off at the end of the year.
