From my understanding Jackson was brought back to bridge the anticipated absence of Edwards while he still recuperates. I agree that Jackson will more than likely get more snaps by the end of the season.
-
I would count Jackson. He will see more snaps than Edward's imo. Edward's will be out in nickle.

Dayo fits his DE mold. DTs are lighter and shorter. I only looked at 5 years of his Saints rosters. You'd think he'd have a bigger N, but none during those 5 yrs.
- Today

That makes sense and also Dayo at 6'5" 282 fits that mold.
-
But the Ravens KNEW all about his knee surgeries, and they traded anyway. They didnt discover anything new, they got cold feet. And they've done it before. Also to say that Philly didnt have a pass rush in the SB against the Chiefs is just wrong. They put on a pressure clinic. Seattle also was able to bring pressure this year and it basically decided the game. If there is a lesson to be learned it's that pass rush is important in winning a superbowl.

Bears sign WR/KR Raymond to 1yr 5M deal (former Lion)

True and Cole or Swift could be next in order. -
All drafts aren't judged just by the first year contributions. We still have potential starters in Turner, Newman, or rotational contribters. Teams like NE were good for a long time by good overall drafts that keep finding value every year without them necessarily being stars.
-
I am only going by praise of GMs that say they are a well run organization. I don't know all the details on transactions but realize they draft well. My point is when you obtain players with past injury issues it's a big risk when you pay so much for it. You may be right but it's only speculation on value. I have read many stories about the top edge players in the league doesn't have even one SB win between them. Parsons, Hendrickson, Crosby, Garrett don't. I think the thought you have to have a top pass rusher to win a SB is overrated. Seattle, Philly, KC had good pass rushing teams but no top dog. Cris Jones has only had over 10.5 sacks twice in his career. Sweat is in that ball park for sacks.
-
Right i totally agree. That's why I said free agents who make over, say $15M are a different thing than the hole fillers.
-
Except maybe someone like Trey Hendrickson, Devin Bush and Coby Bryant. All positions of need who will contribute right away. If you’re differentiating that a majority of FAs are as you suggest, to “fill holes” then maybe. Same goes for drafted players…most of the time. If you happen to draft (let’s say) 10 players one year, maybe only 3 will contribute (right away) where the others might stick around and ‘fill holes’ until the next draft.

In effect our WR3 is actually Loveland.

Crosby is available again - Ravens deal falls apart due to failed physical

If it were me I’m not on the phone I’d let the Raiders call me. If we were the runner up it’s our turn to deal from a position of strength -
I think that’s a good assessment. Just watching his highlights he’s got some good attributes and he looks quicker and faster that CJGJ.
-
I guess Rich Eisen reported Bears were runner up to Ravens and had also offered two firsts. If that is true I got to imagine Poles is already on the phone. Maybe no longer two firsts but a first and a conditional pick or something. Obviously do deep intel on meds before publicly either team announces.

They can request and receive the MRI scans and other tests and details about the surgery. Maybe there are signs of degenerative knee conditions.
