So these have already been cut? Ojulari would interest me.

It is definitely a different vibe this year. Everything you said will make a difference but every time we have a setback fans resort to a lack of trust. I think by the bye week, we will start seeing our future but we will have mishaps along the way.

The biggest concern with Caleb was holding onto the ball too long, as that led to too many sacks. If nothing else changed, and he got the ball out quicker, cut down on sacks, then the results will come. Here is Caleb's TTT compared to other QBs: In the KC game: • Patrick Mahomes 3.69 TTT • Tyson Bagent 3.08 TTT • Caleb Williams 3.06 TTT Caleb Williams on 25 pass attempts in the preseason this year: 68% completion 8.8 Y/A 122.1 passer rating 71.3 PFF passing grade 2.89 TTT Drake Maye, another second year QB in a new system (12 att): 58% completion 4.8 Y/A 70.8 passer rating 36.9 PFF grade 3.30 TTT So I would say he is passing the test so far, no delay of game penalties, no wasted time outs, no INTs, and only 1 sack.

Related but unrelated, if Ben Johnson was coaching this team last year, I think they start at least 7-0. 19-13 loss to HOU, 21-16 loss to IND, 18-15 loss to WAS, then the falling off the cliff and losing to ARZ 29-9 and NE 19-3. No way that happens with him. Then after that are 3 straight Division losses by 3 pts or less. That's why I am more optimistic about this season. The roster is better, the coaching staff is better, so it is really hard for those two things to not move the needle. Compare to the Bears to the current Patriots. Which roster and coaching staff would you rather have? I like Vrabel, but outside of a few players from NE, I would take 85% of the Bears roster. Comparing OCs and DCs, I think the Bears have the edge on both sides for play callers. We will see how it works out but those two teams seem to have the most in common.

I think they were suggesting it because if he gets cut and has to clear waivers, I doubt he gets to the Bears. Here are some other cut candidates that I would consider: OL Cole Strange DE Azeez Ojulari DE David Ojabo DE Anfernee Jennings CB Adoree Jackson CB Beanie Bishop CB Jamel Dean S Kyle Dugger

I seen posted by someone I never heard of that we traded for AZEEZ OJULARI/DE from the Giants. I never trust any news anymore unless i see it posted by several sources. Anyone else have info on this?
-
I think he has the potential to be the LT, but I think the coaches think he just isnt comfortable there yet. As bear fans, we always see the OL have injuries and need more that 5 starters to last a season. The season will dictate what positions will need to get the most attention in next years draft. With all the losing over the years its hard to trust the management to get it right but I do sincerely think BJ will change everything going forward. You had the right positions that need attention but players get better and maybe they will get better with the roster we have.

I dont usually look at the Viking websites but do a lot of GB content. I always like to see what pundits and fans think of their teams as we do here. This article is a good view of Viking flavor. There is one podcast that has a fan from each fan base that discusses the NFC North and it gets interesting. I'll try to find it and post it. Of all the fan bases you can guess which one has the most inflated egos.

Odd strategy for a preseason with a new QB. https://vikingswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/vikings/2025/08/22/studs-and-duds-from-the-vikings-preseason-finale-against-the-titans/85789643007/ “Well, that wasn't the best ending to the preseason. In a game that was not very good for the majority of the roster, the team now limps into the regular season on a two-game losing streak from the preseason. Of course, the majority of starters never played in the preseason, including starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy, who appeared in the first game but hasn't been since as the team protects him.”

I didn't lie about anything, and I use parentheses on everything I try to emphasize. I could care less if if it's proper grammar construction. I love talking about football but now I have two people on here cat calling because they don't like the way I say things. It would be nice to just discuss football again but apparently that's to simple for both of you. You, Adam, Mongo and me add the most content to this site , if you two want to waste your time with bullshit, I'm here for you. I'm sure guests that visit here just love this kind of content.

I see that now, thank you So we still need the two things that I (and most of us) said were the most important things, LT and Edge. So what I said about the draft isnt looking so out there anymore. Its nice we have Loveland and Burden, they both look great, but we could have had Mykell Williams and Aireontae Ersery instead. The cute idea of dropping down for Trapilo and thinking he'd become your starting LT is clearly not working out here in reality. I like the player, I like his skills, I like his attitude, but he wasnt able to crack the job at LT. Maybe he will at the bye?
-
I wasnt trolling I was saying 2 things. 1) your lie about not responding to Mongo's specific statement falls apart when we see you quoted the statement you were responding to 2) I was actually legitimately trying to be helpful because you keep using parenthesis when you mean quotation marks. Sometimes the smartest football people have horrible grammar, so i wasnt trying to diminish you with that. Grammar means nothing on this site, football knowledge is what its about. I was just telling you so you can do it right next time.

OK, I will take a look, and I stand corrected on the keeper round cost: The first keeper is one round, and if you keep a second, that one costs two rounds. The only exception is if that you are keeping 2 players that would give up the same pick (like a 5th and a 6th both would require your 4th rounder), so in that case it gets swapped and you have to give up a 3rd and a 5th instead (for that example).

I will try to look it up, I don't know what Yahoo did, but they messed it up big time.

McCarthy will be making his first NFL start, on the road, season opener, on MNF. Here is how the other QBs did in their first start: Daniels 17-24, 184 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT - Loss Williams 14-29, 93 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT - Win Maye 20-33, 243 yds, 3 TD, 2 INT - Loss Penix 18-27, 202 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT - Win Average of 180 yds, 0.75 TD and 0.75 INT. So McCarthy throwing for 180 with 1 TD and 1 INT is probably the bar. Unless their running game goes off, that won't be enough for a win. I am revising my score to 24-17, Bears get 3 tuddies and a short Santos kick, Vikings get 1 passing, 1 rushing TD, and a FG. I would bracket Jefferson, and force McCarthy to beat them with his 2nd or 3rd read.

If you two want to waste your time trolling me ,go for it.

I said that in my previous post, I added the LT after you mentioned it.
-
The problem is I dont remember which one was my keeper, the new list doesnt show it and the other post shows a bunch of keepers. I think it was T Hill/WR or K Williams/RB I looked back at 2023 and the only common player was K. Williams, I think it has to be him.

I just need to go back and make sure we don't have back to back keepers as they were drafted if you kept them last year, and are ineligible this year.

This shows the teams and the draft picks from last year a little easier: https://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/140564/lastseason

It is a sliding scale, so it is 1-round for the first keeper, but if you want 2 keepers, the first one will cost you an extra round. So in your case, it would be a 6th round for #78 (which was an 8th rounder in 2024) and a 10th for #103, which was an 11th in 2024.
