  2. Your response is typical PHX, on to the nex subject.
  3. Today
  4. I can see Burden being an issue about this, but i suspect Trapilo wants that starting job more. And I cant really predict Turner.
  5. Wonderful...😤
  6. LOL ooooh boy. If I missed writing "I think" once then my DEEPEST apologies. Coming from you tho, it's a joke. No matter what you say, we will see what we have when the pads come on. Looking forward to that.
  7. the first two got fully guaranteed contracts for the first time, so #3 wants it too, and it will fall all the way down the list until someone signs without one, and no player wants to be the "ah*le" that ruined it for everyone, so everyone is stuck waiting. But yes, the arrival of training camp will loosen some.
  8. My problem is, the first two are signed. It should fall like dominoes from there. Either the Seahawks or the players agent are being assholes...
  9. This will be a continuing issue as I see it spreading into the 3rd round next year. I dont have a problem with it until our players start missing training camp.
  10. Freaking ridiculous! These players should be signed already. It's cookie cutter stuff.
  11. This the current list of 2nd rounders that have signed and not signed. There will be a rush when training camps start. I dont see ours being early. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/draft/_/year/2025/round/2/sort/pick
  12. I understand the lack of commitment without more proof. IF you were refering to me, I have never said SB run. I too need to see us play bad to lower my expections instead of prove weaknesses have been filled. You need to read my posts, I have never said we are great, I think we are capable of being really good, but you keep putting words in my mouth, rooting for a team and notice positive changes is not fan crap. I am optimisic and see positive changes for the good, you always try to say I say things in extremes, perfect roster, SB contender, I never have. This is my opinion, so you can stop confusing my comments by injecting what you say I do. I THINK WE HAVE ADDED GREAT COACHING, BUILT UP THE ROSTER AND HAVE A QB THAT TAKES OFF THIS YEAR UNDER BJs PLAY CALLING. I HAVE NEVER SAID SB, OR PERFECT ROSTER, ALL THE CRAP YOU SAY I DO. I AM OPTIMISTIC THAT WE COULD HAVE A WINNING SEASON. (10 TO 12), I THINK WE HAVE ENOUGH TALENT AT RB, LT, AND DE TO GET US THRU THE SEASON. NOT CLAIMING DAYO OR BOOKER BECOMES 15 SACK GUYs. OZZY OR KIRAN IS PRO BOWL MATERIAL I DONT THINK WE HAVE TO HAVE ALL PROS AT EVERY POSITION TO BE GOOD THIS YEAR. I love when you tell other people you respect their opinions when you disagree and then turn around and say other opinions are just silly. (This is the month of podcast hype, where people say things like "the roster is complete" and that's just silly.) That is just some guys opinion.

Stroud and the Texans underwhelmed last year. They were 10-7 in the worst division in football. Outside of the division, they were 5-6. They relied solely on their defense to win games.

Yeah, it's one thing to have a 70-yd scoring drive, but TDs, that's wild, and like you said, without a mobile QB.
  15. Bagent also said Johnson would be the best position coach for every position. He was also spot on about Flus, he said he was a great defensive coach but didn't do much with the offense or specific position groups. For me, I am truly optimistic for the first time since 2018. That was the last time things felt like they were coming together from all sides, and then that went into high gear with the Mack trade.
  16. I think all signs are pointing to Ben Johnson becoming one of the top head coaches in the league. In a sense, being head coach is "pads on" all the time, so we've already gotten a glimpse of him in action. But yeah, from everything I've seen so far, it sure looks like he is gonna be great for us.

  18. One thing I gleaned, from the Bagent interview, was this quote when asked about the new process,"if I ever decide to get into coaching, that's how I want to do it".
  19. Speaking for myself, Im not sitting ont he fence, or worried about being wrong. Im saying it is June, and this is the time of year where the draft and first wave of free agency is over. This is the time to see what you have before you do anything else - that's the rhythm of the NFL every year. The next step is to see it on grass in pads. Then after you see what you really have, you make adjustments. This isn't optimistic, pessimistic or fence sitting. It's just what June is. For example, I am very excited to see Trapilo take the LT position and dominate. That's what i hope happens. So far, everything points in the right direction. We havent heard any negative stuff about him in OTAs, he seems to be int he right positions and understanding the blocking assignments. Cool! But i cant tell you that Amagadje isnt better, or Braxton Jones for that matter. Now I know what Jones has on tape, so i think I can predict what he can give us, but who knows what Roushar might unlock? But to start saying Trapilo is the guy, or Amagadje is the guy etc is foolish until you see them in pads. That's not pessimistic. That's not fence sitting. It's just the truth. I dont understand this idea that you have to proclaim that we are great right now in order to be "joyful" or "optimistic" - thats homer fan stuff driven by Podcasts during a month when nothing is happening. It's the kind of dynamic where we build all sorts of outcomes out of a single time that Johnson corrected Caleb for being late. i mean, dont get me wrong i LOVE that, but it's just a tiny data point. So podcasters and their viewers can wrap themsevles in narratives all they like, but it's not a question of morals. It's just rah rah fan crap. I am very excited to see this team on grass in pads. I am optimistic about our near future. But I'm not counting chickens until they suit up and knock some people around. Not because I doubt them, but just because words arent actions. I dont need to declare my love for the Bears - we ALL spend hours on this site, it's obvious we all love them. But let's see what we've got before we claim any championships or even wins in June.
  20. I am a long time Bears fan so it would be so easy for me to say, (new coach-Dynamic QB-more talent) that they might be better but: Sitting on the fence means you're never wrong but I would rather go with my honest opinion and say we have a Perfect Storm brewing. I see a floor of 10 wins and a ceiling of 11-12 victories. Everything is not perfect but every year has some position that has doubts. LT and DE has questions but I think we have enough options to work out for us. To me RB has never been a weakness just because Swift had a mediorcre year. Rookie QB, shakey OL and bad coaching created his average yr.

46 is an insane number. Assuming that was just regular season that’s 2.7 long drives per game without a running QB to rescue bad plays.
  22. Oh i don't think anyone thinks this is just another Bears team. I think we ALL see the difference. The roster looks much better, and the coaching is an obvious and stark upgrade. I just think some of us are saying we are looking forward to seeing it in pads so we know if every piece is really up to par. For example, we have no idea who will play LT. There are lots of reasons to believe that between the three candidates we have, one will ascend. Cool. But I want to see it, and not just assume it? But that doesnt mean we are pessimistic and think its NOT going to happen. It just means we want to see it to know what we've really got. We arent predicting failure, but we also arent assuming this is a Superbowl team, having never played a single down yet is all. We just want to see. What if one of the OL is weaker than expected? Or what if Roschon Johnson lights it all on fire and becomes HB1? What if Burden holds out, or Kmet is suddenly amazing? This is the month of podcast hype, where people say things like "the roster is complete" and that's just silly. But none of that means that we are pessimistic or think the Bears will be terrible! We just want to see it on the field so we know what we have!
  23. I view everything as improved and with a disaster that was last year, a few games could easily had a different outcome. To me we had a lot of talent last year that gave up on a coaching staff the last half of the season. This year I say they will have a winning record and I do need proof that I am wrong on my predication. Even with some lows and injuries, it still should happen.

I find it odd that Houston was tied with us for last. With our new additions to the OL and weapons, we should be in the middle on the low side of expectations. Of course the key to all of this is Caleb. I think he goes off but some doubters think he still has a lot to prove being only the 3rd best rookie QB. As the bad coaching and poor OL affected both the passing game and running game, I expect huge jump for him.

Here is more on the Ben Johnson effect, 70+ Yard TD drives, DET had 46, CHI had 17, literally 1st and last. Even if the Bears just jump to the middle of the pack, that would be almost double from last year.
  26. Great Bagent interview, you can tell this year really is "different". I know the rinse and repeat history makes most of us into the ultimate pessimists because we have lived through "this year is different" 30+ times, but these interviews really do paint a different picture: Besides the normal stuff we have heard before, I did like that Bagent specifically pointed out that DomRob has been visible. He said he just had a baby, so he thinks it is dad strength or something because no one wants to block him.
