  1. Past hour
  2. I would love for them to get the next two, then at least split with SF and DET. 11 wins gets you in, especially if DET and GB lose this week, but 12 wins keeps you in the #1 Seed contention. The MIN game in Week 1, really, really, really sucks now. The differential is such a hard thing to use, as it doesn't take any context into account. There are a lot of garbage time TDs that pad stats on both sides. CAR has a winning record but is -61 while KC has a losing record but is +63?
  3. Coverage and return units still suck balls. The Bears lost 28 net yards between their kickoffs and GB kickoffs. That is basically 3 pts lost on just kickoffs. Starting LOS after kickoffs - CHI 28, 26, 26, 40 (kicked OB), 26 GB 40 (kicked short), 35, 37, 27, 35 Bears punted at the GB 41 because they couldn't trust Santos on long kicks (again).
  4. Agreed that we aren't out of the playoffs yet. Not by a long shot. I still believe the team can win against Cleveland, SF, Detroit and GB. Will they? Depends on what they've learned in their losses. The Detroit game earlier this year was a mass killing whereas yesterday's loss was much more palatable...but still sucks considering who it was. If for nothing else it does show some improvement over the season. And it really highlights how vulnerable our team was with only a +6 point winning differential going into yesterday's game, versus +36(?) for GB.
  5. And if you saw the underneath defenders, they were all over that play. They are not going to win every game in that fashion, and it should not come down to that, but no team is going to win many games when your defense is allowing 4 TDs per game.
  6. This is now a must-win, mainly because the Bears have to win games they are favored to win at home. With GB playing in DEN and DET playing LAR, there is a chance that both GB and DET lose, and CHI wins, which would reset the division back to the way it was before the loss to GB, making the Week 16 rematch even that much more important. CLE's defense is no joke. They are pretty much a top 5 defense across the board. Their offense looks more explosive with Sanders at QB. This is going to be an ugly FG war. Bears 20-16.
  7. This. I agree that yesterday’s loss wasn’t all on Williams. I’d put it closer to an 80/20 split, with the defense carrying most of the blame. Aside from the early sack and INT, they really didn’t make any impact plays the rest of the game—even with several key starters back on the field. Williams did flash at times, especially late (why can't he do this the WHOLE game?). That second-to-last drive—where they chewed up a ton of clock—was a thing of beauty. The run game was wearing the defense down, and Williams’ passes were quicker and more controlled. Honestly, they should’ve stuck with more of that approach and leaned into the basic WCO concepts that worked so well against Philly. Also saw a GB fan point out on social media that the interception play was basically identical—in formation and personnel—to the Bears’ game-sealing score against Philly the week before. His comment was, “You don’t think we watch game film?” Hard to argue with that.
  8. Today
  9. I don't think there will be any kind of leash for awhile, if ever. Williams and Nix have nearly identical numbers, but DEN's defense has allowed 100 fewer pts on the season. Winning and the rest of the team really make a difference in perception. Maye - 25 TD - 6 INT Williams - 23 TD - 6 INT Nix - 23 TD - 9 INT Bears non-QBs have 2 more rushing TDs than the Pats, so as offenses, NE and CHI have scored the same number of TDs. Daniels is playing below replacement level, but I don't think Daniels is on any kind of leash. If Williams connects with Kmet, but then they fail the 2XP conversion, the end result is the same, but most people would probably feel a lot better about Williams. The biggest conversation is Williams Comp%/Accuracy, but to me, it's only 2-3 passes a game. He has started 27 straight games with 0-1 INTs, and has only thrown 2 INTs in a game twice in his career, Game 2 and 3. Winning has sped up the development process, which comes with higher expectations. If the Bears make the playoffs, and Williams' numbers are better than last year, he has met my expectations for the first year of a new system following whatever last year was. Stuff like this also has to be taken into consideration. He had the highest unblocked pressure rate last year, and this year, he has yet to take a sack when there is an unblocked pass rusher, which is mind boggling considering the types of Pash Rushers he has faced.
  10. Week 13 - 1. Nix - 76.0 QBR - 212 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT, 3 Sacks, 16 Rush Yds. 228 Total Yards. Won. Season QBR: 55.7, 2,954 yards, 19-9 TD-INT, 16 Sacks, 3 Rush TD. (13g) 2. Nine - 75.2 QBR - 163 Yds, 3 TD, 0 INT, 4 Sacks, 15 Rush Yds, 1 Rush TD. 178 Total Yards. Won. Season QBR: 27.6, 1,092 yards, 9-10 TD-INT, 24 Sacks, 3 Rush TD. 3. Williams - 40.6 QBR - 186 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT, 1 Sacks, 15 Rush Yds. 201 Total Yards. Lost. Season QBR: 53.4, 2,908 yards, 19-6 TD-INT, 20 Sacks, 3 Rush TD, 1 Rec TD. (13g) 4. Daniels - 11.1 QBR - 78 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT, 1 Sack, 16 Rush Yds. 94 Total Yards. Lost. Season QBR: 54.8, 1,262 yards, 8-3 TD-INT, 18 Sacks, 2 Rush TD. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Maye - BYE Week Penix - IR Season QBR: 56.4, 1,882 yards, 9-3 TD-INT, 13 Sacks, 1 TD. Rattler - DNP Season QBR: 50.4, 1,586 yards, 8-5 TD-INT, 18 Sacks, 1 FL. Low totals across the board this week. Crazy how similar Nix and Williams are this year.
  11. Just thinking about everything you said, and the Bears STILL had a chance to tie/win in the final seconds of the game. The only thing I can think of for DJ is he is playing hurt, because nothing else makes sense.
  12. Gordon practiced all week, then you take him out on game day (like an in-game injury), and things will look different. I am sure they had set plays/pressures designed just for him. When you from Gordon to McCloud, things are going to look bad. Still no excuse, but it felt like the pressures didn't match the coverages, the Bears got burnt.
  13. And somehow I see Nagy on the "Hot Coaching Candidate" charts. Are people even paying attention to games anymore?
  14. After rewatching the game, a few things stood out. We don't have the personnel to effectively run DA's defense. GB's OL is elite at pass pro, but damn we can't generate pressure. Our defensive front seven is easily the slowest in the NFL.(Brisker, CJGJ, JJ and Dexter were terrible yesterday). Despite some poor play, hats off to them for making some improvements and key stops in the second half. Looking forward, the fat contracts of Sweat, Jarrett, Johnson, Dayo and Gordon are going to strongly hinder Poles ability to reshape next year. Improvements should be made, the above will hinder and that hurts. Offensively, Caleb was terrible and brilliant at the same time. Does he hate DJ Moore? I'm absolutely convinced he will be traded. While Caleb's accuracy is killing them, his elusiveness is killing the opposing D. Ben Johnson called his worst game yesterday. Our OL was dominating the second half and he took their feet off their respective throats. He blew it. Enough of the complaining from me. Our team did what it's done lately; fight hard and play opportunistic. I expect something cleaner in two weeks. We may lose, because I think GB is the more complete team. The eye test tells me they are better, especially in pass pro and defensive front seven.
  15. Everyone complained a lot last year when we were 5-12. I see a lot of complaining at 9-4 . As much as there's 's many areas that can stand improving but let's keep it in perspective. I would have preferred we went undefeated untill the playoffs but realism sneaks in. I think we win the next two games that should get us in the playoffs . Probably not on the road in SF but Detroit is still doable. Is 11-6 or 12-5 good enough to make people happy?
  16. That looks like the vaccine to autism ratio chart...🤷🏽🤪🤣
  17. As long as we win games, it will be long.
  18. speaking of TERRIBLE, the fattie #97 is truly wasting a roster spot. nearly every play billings is getting turned sideways and blocked out of the hole on running plays, it's ridiculous. on passing plays they just stand him up at the LOS. vs packers: 2 solo tackles and 1 assist. he should at least be a solid rock in the middle to stop running plays. brisker? wow, what a difference between this season and last. he has looked terrible. say adios. the worst? absolutely NO pass rush. any qb, and i mean ANY qb will look like HOF quality if you can just stand behind your line and pick and choose who and when to throw it. with this bad of a pass rush no team can compete. that said, we have to have set another record for bad in nfl history for length of field TD's in less than a minute. i have never seen a team consistently give up TD's that fast multiple times in a season. one last note, if the defense puts williams in motion out of the pocket he looks bad. way to many happy feet instances. he needs to fix that problem along with having no touch on his passes.
  19. I asked the same question awhile back as far as how long will BJ stick with Caleb and said the middle of next year if he doesn't get better but know he's got until the end of next year.
  20. I had to watch the game at430 am because of my timezones so just now getting to comments. First, the second half we played well enough to have the last play determine our fate. Caleb is still not where he needs to be, but helped us back in the game in the second half. GB is a tough place to play and showed everyone, including me, one of the better teams in the NFC. They play Denver next week so we can see how they measure up to the whole league. Anyone that has injuries or had them just aren't up to speed yet. JJ and Edwards will play better, Gordon just isn't healthy enough yet to be able to help. Gardener -Johnson had a bad day.
  21. All year it’s been kind of the same. Flashes of brilliance mixed with horrific accuracy and suspect mechanics. I keep waiting for a huge, breakout game. A ridiculous game that displays why he was the #1 pick. Something that shows him carrying the team instead of just being part of it. Then one or two fairly dominating games where he puts up big stats. Hell, even Shadeur Sanders had one today. So how long is his leash? He’s clearly not performing like a #1 pick when missing simple throws and obvious reads. The last play of the game was a brutal demonstration of both. He made the read very late when the WR was wide open. Then made a weak throw with poor anticipation. And to make things worse, DJ leaked out on an underneath route wide open. He would have walked in for a TD. So, again, how long is his leash?
  22. Thats why I say forget them when the contracts are up. Cole Kmet plays for his money, Gordon/Johnson dont. Im tired of soft tissue injuries being a drain on our season. Yes, ours as we invest in them. Draft well and let them go.
  23. Groin. I suspect he's going to be out for the year. Can't get rid of him with that contract, unfortunately. It is ironic how he all of a sudden misses the most games of his career after signing the extension. If I remember correctly, he didn't show up for most of the voluntary OTA's in the off-season. Based on the injuries, I have my doubts as to how much hard work he put into his body to be ready for a long season.
  24. He's coming off major surgery. Being on a snap count can sometimes throw you off rhythm. As he continues to get snaps, the expectations should grow. Gordon is the one to worry about. People who, supposedly, get injured in pregame warmups don't want to play. CJ Gardner is not the answer. I saw a tremendous amount of undisciplined play from him today.
  25. Yeah from what I saw today he and Brisker can be cut loose. Unfortunately JJ appears to be going backwards and getting into lazy mode. Or he’s more injured more than we know.
  26. Im done with him. I would not resign a drafted player anymore. New England them. They get their money and are soft.
